Alright, i've been actually looking for alot of bands who play instrumental/experimental stuff. What I am really looking for is progressive, death, sludge, black or instrumental doom. I don't care if it's smooth, technical or brutal, i want no vocals, that's it. I also like when it has some droning/ambient stuff, breakdowns and whatever is weird/strange. If it has keyboard, melodic parts or if it's thrashy with lots of guitar solos I will absolutely love it. Don't care about the production much, or if it's underground, really, 'll take everything. I'm open to all recs !

What i actually listen to and enjoyed:

- Blotted Science
- Sleep Terror
- Behold... The Arctopus

I hope you can help me out, thank you !

Pretty broad request, but I'll list some recs that I think fit your description.

The Capricorns (Sludge/Doom)
Conifer (Sludge/Doom)
JT Bruce (Progressive/Experimental) - Free download as well
Indricothere (Progressive/Technical) one man band from one of the guitarists of Behold... The Arctopus, pretty much the same as Behold... The Arctopus

5ive - mellow post-metal sludge.
Bongipper - sludge/doom with post-metal. I like the first two albums. "The Great Barrier Reefer" and "Hippie Killer". After that they got dronier and nosier than I care for.
Caldera - stoner/doom. On the mellow side.
Mastery (Can) - solid thrash
Ufomammut - psychedelic stoner/doom. Not entirely instrumental but nearly so. Has a bit of Pink Floyd in it.
Bossk - Atmospheric sludge. Nearly entirely instrumental. Fairly laid back.
Serpent Throne - Stoner/doom. Later Ozzy Sabbath + rock

Are you interseted in stoner rock/metal?

I really appreciate your help guys, thank you.

I'm downloading most of that stuff ATM, but i've listened to a few bands.

@AvengerofTruth

JT Bruce: That completely blew my mind, this guy is amazing. Cool stuff, you can directly download his albums off his website.
Indricothere: That was a very nice listen and you're right it's pretty much the same shit as BTA, really enjoyed.
The Capricorns: Didn't check yet.
Conifer: I enjoyed the first LP, (self titled) and looking for the second one !

@Thor_Evlor

Don Caballero: Didn't check yet.
Pelican: FUCKING GREAT!!
Dysrhythmia: Very weird stuff, especially Barriers and Passage, very good though. Colin Marston from BTA again, I noticed..
Zombi: Didn't check yet..
Liquid Tension Experiment: I already knew about this one, but completely forgot about that side-project from DT. It's pretty good.
Red Sparrowes/ The Fucking Champs: Didn't check

@Neonchipmunk

5ive: That was a very good/interesting/strange listen, I got the last one (Hesperus) and actually looking for other LPs.
Bongipper: Didn't check yet.
Caldera: Didn't check yet
Mastery (Can): The band that caught most of my attention, riffs man, fucking riffs and production is tight. The only problem is that they have only one EP, that sucks.
Bossk/Serpent Throne: Didn't check yet.
Ufomammut: I found snailking and Idolum albums, they're very good and heavy, well-varied/diversity songs too.

By the end of the week I should have listened to all the bands that I ''didnt check yet'', again, a huge thanks everyone !

No problem!

If you're digging on Pelican, you'll probably dig Red Sparrowes; check out Mono and Explosions In The Sky.

And Earth, how could I forget them! Sunn too (although not all their stuff is instru).

A good place to look to is stonerrock.com and their distro All That Is Heavy - tons of reviews and MP3's available.

Scale the Summit are an incredible band. I heard them from a compilation that came with a metal magazine I bought a while ago, been looking for their stuff ever since, it's very hard to find.

Anyways, as for recommendations of an instrumental nature, here's my list of bands I think you'll enjoy...

Hyatari (Drone/Doom)
Zebulon Pike (Killer Doom Metal)
Electric Magma (Stoner Metal)

Those are the only bands I can think of you might enjoy, all of em are incredible in my book!

Great call on Zeb Pike, those dudes rip - it's like arena-rock DOOM!

Check out Russian Circles. Their first release, "Enter" is better than the newer album. Think Pelican with more interesting drumming and bass work. Overall it's less strictly metal-oriented and the guitar does some interesting tapping and looping stuff not unlike what you'd hear on something Ian Williams (Don Caballero, Battles) has done. Although, it does have some very heavy bits. The newer album, "Station," is much less heavy but I didn't like it nearly as much as the first album.

Try Sepia Dreamer. They're extreme prog kind of in the vein of In Mourning, but instrumental. I can hear some Cult of Luna influence as well, but it's very slight.

The Sublime is a very good album. Haven't heard their other one. I think they're between labels right now, so I don't know when to expect new stuff.
