I'm looking for a funny band that make somewhat good music (nothing like Arsonists Get All the Girls). They can fall into the following list:

1) Simply a band with funny/unusual lyrics, like The Argent Dawn, The Doctor, and Pan.Thy.Monium (gibberish is great).

2) Covers, like Swashbuckle's "Nautical Nonsense" (but no Ten Masked Men)

3) A parody of another band, like Cannabis Corpse.

4) So evil, blasphemous, and/or violent that its funny, like Carcass and Necrophobic's song "Act of Rebellion".

Nekrogoblikon. Main lyrical theme: goblins. Fuckin' hilarious. Improved by the fact that it's actually good melo-death too. At least, I'd call it melodeath... I think.

Also, Alestorm always puts a great smile on my face.

Wow, I listening to Goblins Are Better Then Trolls and I just imagine a fight between Nekrogoblikon and Finntroll. Fucking genius!

Not a big fan of Alestorm. When it comes to Pirate-themed metal, I prefer Swashbuckle.

And may you like animal fronted bands? stuff like Caninus, Hatebeak, Bovinus, Gary Blasphemer?

Ultra Vomit. Their second album is varied, from Motörhead to Immortal... would be better if you understand french though.

Anorimoi. If you can understand their lyrics, they are god damn hilarious.

For instance, their 2nd full-length is called 17 Katsarides, which means 17 Cockroaches. Also, some of its songs have names like A small meatball, Prostitude, The Dildo-killer, etc. Their music is good, though, so most of you, who don't understand greek, gonna love them as a 'normal' band. But they're not..:P:D

Go to Jonbenet Ramsey's MA page, and read their song titles.

Zimmers Hole

Featuring Jed Simon, Byron Stroud and Gene Hoglan. An homage to all things metal, and making as much fun of it as possible at the same time.

Lawnmower Deth is right up this alley, along with their countrymen Metal Duck & Unseen Terror. Dead Horse from Texas, Macabre from Chicago maybe?

Vio-lence-Torture Tactics might work too

wigglygore beat me to it, but yeah. Zimmer's Hole definitely needs to be checked out.

Also, the Gamma Ray song "Money" is pretty funny too.

Okay, just to clear things up a bit, I understand the following languages:
Finnish
Swedish
English
Greek
Chinese

And a little of the following:
Italian
Japanese

And any other languages I'm sure I can find some way to translate it.

If you want some gibberish you can't go wrong with Fantomas. Check out Suspended Animation, 30 tracks in 40 minutes. Utter musical insanity.

Considering it's Mike Patton, that's nothing out of the ordinary. Which is awesome.

Give Ghoul a listen. Crossover thrash that doesn't take itself to seriously, but still kicks arse.

Grailknights perhaps? Their lyrics involve the quest for the Holy Grail, which doesn't sound too comical but their stage show is hilarious, involving roadies dressed in monster costumes coming on stage to fight epic battles and a deliberately awful looking pantomime horse arriving on stage to dispense beer to the audience. The band members all dress in ridiculous superhero costumes, and have such silly names as "Lord Lightbringer" and "The Duke of Drummington". And their music is actually really good melodeath with some power metal moments.

Hospital of Death!

They have a few ridiculous songs, but We Go Together off of Beer, Bitches, Blood stands out as a ridiculous track that made me laugh out loud. The fact that they are an ass kicking speed metal band helps too!

Their cover of "What A Wonderful World" is HILARIOUS.

"I see towers of flame
And corpses too
I see the doom
Of me and you

And I think to myself..."

Also, check out Punky Bruster - it's basically Devin Townsend making fun of pop-punk - and in the process, doing it better than most pop-punk bands.

The vocalist is a parrot.

Despite Carnival in Coal's seriousness as musicians, some of their lyrics are hilarious. Hell, even just some of the songs are funny sounding. The opening to "Cinque (The Parrot Stuff)" for example, is basically thrash played alongside a kazoo. "Urine Facewash" is just great as well.

Try the first Suicidal Tendencies album, the lyrics to a lot of the songs are pretty funny. If anyone takes the "satanic" lyrics seriously, they are very stupid.

Check out Morbid Anal Fog and their song "Nokturnal Bacon Throne". Watch the video for it on youtube. I got a good laugh out of it.

Haha, they brilliant in their performance. During their gig in Belgium, Sir Optimus Prime stuck his sword up the ass of Urks the Dragon. He called it the... anal death blade! Their performance and hapiness got the entire crowd moving, screaming and shouting.

Check out this video: it contains music from 'Dice with Death' and 'Across the Universe'. The intro might be a little long but after a minute or so it starts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA23iRUPLzE
