I don't know if anyone is a big vorkreist fan, but listen their new "Sublimation XXIXA" album. There's a few catchy riffs that stick in your head forever.

Obviously, I have to mention Bloobath's "Eaten". The pace of it is the magic behind it being so catchy.

Um, Deicide's Holy Deception. How did we miss this?

Unless it was previously mentioned and I forgot, in which case... whatever.

Catchiest death metal song I've ever heard is probably Malodorous Rancidity by Pyaemia. The chorus makes me feel like driving off a cliff on fire while sawing off my head with a chainsaw. Good times.

For Us or Against Us by Dying Fetus is good too.

At The Gates - Blinded By Fear

Pretty much anything of Slaughter Of The Soul could take the title, for me.

interesting... Pavor is totally NOT catchy, the Zero the Hero song is a Black Sabbath cover
and its a terrible cover at that...

Gore Hog? really?... and Eye of Judgment. i find these interesting because they aren't exactly the most catchiest hook driven songs from either band ;)
not flamin'ya just stating such.
good call on Suffer the Children!

The opening riff of Enter the Depths of Eternal Darkness by Therion WILL make you head bang and WILL make you hit your head against the table in such a bloody fury that you WILL get brain damage.

But that's a good thing!

Anything that starts off with a BANG... a HEAD BANG... such as When The Dead Walk the Earth by Gorefest, Chaos vs. Order by Darkane, Eaten by Bloodbath, yadda yadda yadda...

I consider that to be catchy.

However, songs that don't start with a bang, but have a part where you can stand up, throw your neck back, and then hurl your entire body forward in one massive head bang (rinse...and repeat) because there is a build-up of tension and then a release in one massive jizz explosion... those are catchy.

And actually, the first song that comes to mind isn't really death metal, it's Crossover Thrash, and it is Beware the Thrash Brigade by Rumpelstiltskin Grinder (It illustrates my point though)

Lastly, there are the songs that are awesome throughout, have a catchy set of riffs, and prove that you don't need to have something that breaks your neck to be catchy. Incantation does this a lot (Ibex Moon!!!!). If there is a consistent atmosphere, awesome riffs and memorable moments, there ya go!

But still, when there is that song that has the part where it's just BANG YOUR FISTS IN TO THE FACE OF YOUR FUCKING MOTHER TO THE BEAT OF THE SONG heavy.... those songs are good too.

PS: I love my mommy.

Death - Sacred Serenity. That chorus riff is AMAZING (tho' not really death metal)
Some Unleashed is pretty catchy.
Carcass - Embodiment

When I'm in an "excitable" mood, I find most well produced, or even just loud and noisy, death metal to be catchy. But when I'm not predisposed to it:

Entombed: Seeing Red, Won't Back Down, Come Clean, In the Flesh
Vader: Angel of Death, This is the War (namely the beginning, so chuggalicious)

Aaaaaand, for shits:
Origin: Portal

That may seem crazy to people but it very much has a catchy motion on top of everything. At first it's a back and forth between the vocals and the guitar, and at the chorus the guitar line takes it. Course the song still spirals into utterly psychotic noise at some points, but hey, it wouldn't be Origin if it didn't.

Gorefest-Dehumanization

Wow. It's hard for me not to have this song stuck in my head for at least the remainder of the day, if not longer. The guitar riffs are so simple, and everything just flows and moves along at the perfect plodding pace. The intro starts up nice and then THAT riff. The main riff complements the vocals perfectly, and everything just works for the song as whole. The solo is fitting and just goes with the general plodding pace of the song. It's just a perfect example of how simplicity is can absolutely work wonders in music.

Hypocrisy-Compulsive Psychosis

Similar to the above. The guitars work and fit with a great vocal performance. The breaks into double kicks are amazing, the chorus is absolutely astonishing. Then you just break into it all again, with that sinister growl. The nice single string riff into the solo's is unbelievable, and once again, the solo's aren't wank fest or speed demon work but pure genius in context of the song.

If I haven't already mentioned 'So You Die' by Bloodbath, I have to now. That song is the definition of catchy.

Worry in the House of Thievies by Deicide, off of ITIH, is actually pretty catchy. The way the riff is "passed" between the guitars in the verse (I think it's the verse; I haven't checked the lyrics, nor do I really care to) stuck out to me.

Just listened to Destroyer 666 last night in bed. Phoenix Rising's "I Am The Wargod" had the catchiest riff I've heard this past week. The charging passion and energy was uncanny.
