I know it seems kind of hard to comprehend this idea... mainly because you cant comprehend the lyrics a lot of the time, and sometimes, even if you don't know the words to your favorite DM song, you just wished you could sing along... personally i think stripped, raped and strangled by Cannibal Corpse has my vote... but Welcome to Hell by Morbid Angel would also have a fair vote in for me... what do the rest of you guys think

Yeah I definitely agree about "Stripped, Raped and Stangled" being a really catchy song for death metal. I remember when I only liked the false genres of metal, I still listened to this song regularly since it was so catchy.

Also another pretty short and catchy song is "But Life Goes On" by Entombed. Catchy and fun DM song.

But Life Goes On is definitely catchy as fuck. I guess Vermin by Asphyx is pretty catchy as well. They Are the children of the underworld by Deicide is probably the catchiest DM song.

Chapel of Ghouls by Morbid Angel
Lake of Fire by Nocturnus
Living Monstrosity by Death (underrated track)
The IVth Crusade by Bolt Thrower

Come to mind when it comes to catchy death metal songs. Hails!

Superlatives threads and posts with mere lists of song-titles do not tend to go well. It should be explained what makes these tracks catchy.

Scars of the Crucifix by Deicide.
The song is very brutal, rhythmically varied and melodic at the same time. One of my favorite Metal songs, generally.

With death metal, you mean all subgenres of it? Melodic death metal, progressive, ect? If so, then I'd say that ''Twilight'' by Edge of Sanity should been mentioned, it's catchy as fuck. Both instrumental and vocal wise. Also Entombed's ''Bitter Loss'' always makes me to growl along, It has something catchy.

My first death metal song by a band that still does death metal. Hell yes.

No Guts No Glory - Bolt Thrower: Very catchy chorus, cool lyrics, the way at the chorus the chords get higher and then come down just before the vocals come in.

Decency Defiled - Cannibal Corpse: The chorus is just ridiculously catchy. Especially with the drum fill halfway through.

"Eaten" by Bloodbath is damn catchy. The vocals are just great.
And ofcourse Cryptopsy's "None So Vile". I can hum the whole album so easily, although you can't understand the vocals at all.

Probably something by Amon Amarth. Also, while not strictly death metal - I had Gojira's Oroborus going through my head yestarday.

Immortal Rites by Morbid Angel. That descending breakdown can't be beaten! Plus it also has some great lruns and vocal lines that just stay in your mind all day. That said, I think a lot of MA's stuff is surprisingly catchy. The tremelo-picked riffs in Pain Divine and Visions From the Dark Side, for example.

Also, No Guts No Glory by Bolt Thrower. Talk about danceable metal!

If we're including melodic death, I'd say Twilight of the Thunder God by Amon Amarth as the first time I heard it, it resounded in my head for days - not something a lot ofmetal songs do. Same with Need and The Swarm by At the Gates, some of my favourite metal songs of all time. The intros on those songs are just so melodic it's hard to get hooked on them.

And of course the said Orborous

I'm not a very big death metal fan, so I should be able to speak on this objectively.

Cannibal Corpse - Stripped, Raped, and Strangled(has to be the most catchy)
Death - Pull the Plug
Morbid Angel - Chapel of Ghouls
Amon Amarth - Where Silent Gods Stand Guard
Vader - Wings

My vote goes for mid-temp songs with catchy lyrics (that are mostly understandable) as well as riffs. Songs such as:

"Slowly We Rot" - Obituary
"Sweetness" - Ripping Corpse
"And Only Hunger Remains" - Pungent Stench

My vote for the most catchy death metal song probably would be the Cannibal Corpse cover of "Zero The Hero". That song gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it.

Death - Crystal Mountain

The rhythm of the verses, and the way it incorporates that clean guitar melody into them makes this a great pick for me. plus, the chorus is really unforgettable too.

Bolt Thrower - At First Light

The main (and first) riff of this song is really melodic, lending it some accessibility right there. The vocals are brutal yet rather intelligible, so when the chorus comes around ("AT FIRST LIGHT!!") it's hard not to headbang/growl along.

Morbid Angel - Abominations

Yeah, some people have mentioned Morbid Angel before, but for me this has to be one of the catchiest off of Blessed. The riffs are kickass, and with Vincent's screaming of "Bow down before the master!!" right after a sweet riff, the song is just great.

Death - Lack of Comprehension

It starts off very calm with a clean guitar and bass, sounding very soothing which gives it some accessibility right there. Then... BANG! It breaks into one of the catchiest verse riffs I've ever heard in a Death metal song. Seriously, if you don't headbang during this song, you simply do not appreciate metal. period.

1000 Eyes by Death. Seriously, that chorus is catchy as hell, combined with Gene's astounding drumming and Chuck's riffs.

Chapel of Ghouls also. That's a perfect sing-along death metal song.

If we can incorporate sub genres of death metal, than I also think Amon Amarth's Gods of War Arise is a great choice. Again, extremely memorable riffs as well as easy discernible, awesome lyrics.

Oh, hell yeah, dude. Especially Phobophile. That main riff is my alltime favorite tremolo riff ever.

Amazing cheesy evil riffs in this song.
I would also say since I first heard Ways to the Grave by Bloodbath I've been hooked on it. Again I think the cheesy evil grabs me.

I definitely agree with the person who said "Slowly We Rot" by Obituary. The riff during the chorus gets stuck in my head for days.

Most of Bolt Thrower's songs are also really catchy and groovy. Bloodbath also make pretty good catchy death metal with chorus-driven songs.

Also agree with "Crystal Mountain" by Death. A death metal hating friend of mine got hooked to this after his first listen.

Definetely Chapel Of Ghouls - Morbid Angel. The chorus is incredibly catchy, so as the verse - come on, who forgets something like "Dead, you're God is dead!" when it's sung by the Dave!

1000 eyes. Those riffs just latch into your brain.

Artifacts of the black rain, by In Flames. The melody that goes over the power chords is also great humming material.

Hammer smashed face. for some reason, I never get tired of humming or headbangin to this song, even though I get pretty bored by Cannibal Corpse after a few songs.

Edit: Manipulator of Souls by Kataklysm comes in a close second, imo.

I've always though "Nothing Left to Mutilate" by Cannibal Corpse was ridiculously catchy. I think it may be the way the double bass matches up with the vocals on the chorus.

I third the person who said "Slowly We Rot" from Obituary, great chorus, and the intro is just fucking awesome.

From Corpse, I'd have to say "Fucked With A Knife"... "She liked the way it felt inside her...
Fucking her
HARDER! HARDER!"

Love it :D

And I can't forget "Lord of All Fever and Plagues" from Morbid Angel. That whole song is pure awesome, and the chorus is the best part! If you get the Old Ones in order, it's a great chant.

World Eater - Bolt Thrower: Those riffs are just completely awesome.

No Guts, No Glory - Bolt Thrower: Along with the riffs, the lyrics are also pretty catchy

Chapel of Ghouls - Morbid Angel: GHOULS! ATTACK THE CHURCH! CRUSH THE HOLY PRIEST!

Disembowel by Autopsy. The beginning part where he sings "Here I sit surrounded by white, arms wrapped around my back real tight" was stuck in my head for quite a while :metal:

And I second Zombie Ritual and everything else from Scream Bloody Gore.

Personally, "Carneous Cacoffany" by Carcass is my favorite. It's so intense.
A close second might be "Sexdictator Lucifer" by Belphegor.
