Dornenreich - Dem Wind geboren

Such a beautiful song. Peaceful, soothing, yet still powerful and motivating. And the lyrics are absolutely class.

Epidemic of Violence - Demolition Hammer

Well, it's better than Tortured Existence. The slower parts on the album are really badass though.

Fueled by Fire - Spread the Fire

I'm not all that impressed with them thus far (just finished track 3), but I don't think they're as bad as HellsBellsLiveWire says. I don't get the impression that they're poseurs - their hearts are clearly in it, they just aren't amazing.

Not a bad song, but the lyrics are a bit childish, don't you think? :p

To be honest I never thought Annihilator, even in their early days, were great or something. They've got some enjoyable songs here and there, but I don't really care much about them.

NP: Morbid Angel - Fall from Grace

In my opinion, along with ''Altars of Madness'' Morbid Angel's best album. I haven't really checked Morbid Angel's recent material, but ''Covenant'' already bored the shit out of me.

Annihilator are just a fun band. Maybe not great, not amazing, or what have you, but fun to listen to, and I think that counts for something.

@ your Morbid Angel comment - maybe I'm a bit of a classic death metalhead, but I still think anything past their first 3 haven't interested me too, too much. :boo:

Burning in Hell - Holy War in the Sky

Yum, Brazilian power metal.

''Blessed are the Sick''' already had a much more sludgy (?), slower death metal guitarwork, however the fast paced moments were still enjoyable, while ''Covenant'' bores me to death;'annoying vocals, gone are the raspy ones, instead I hear more forced, low death metal vocals, boring guitarwork. (Angel of Disease kicks ass, though!)

I enjoyed Covenant to some extent. Sure, it's no Altars of Madness, or anything, but was...okay. Not worth a lot of the hate it gets.

Altars of Madness, Covenant and Domination are the only good albums from Morbid Angel in my opinion. Altars is fucking great!

NP: Incarnate Form of Black Ecstacy and Rapture, Visual Purgatory by Vrolok

Whoa. Twisted shit man.

EDIT - Accidentally put "Damnation" instead of "Domination".

Bergthron - Durch den Nebel der Finsternis

Until I can get my ears on some Sturmesbrût, this is the best I can do. Still, it's an excellent underground black metal demo tape.

My theory:

Underground black metal demo tapes with a picture of a forest on it, printed in black and white, and have the band's name in Old English font = awesome.

Finntroll-Suohengen Sija

I love their acoustic CD...so relaxing and ambient. I got another chance to listen to this while driving at night and it felt just as amazing as it did the first time.

Morbid Angel - Blasphemy!

Sure, I'm weak to those kind of riffs, but seriously, that main riff is probably in my top-ten.

And now, while yappin' about riffs, it changed to Iron Maiden - Holy Smoke!

Root is probably the most convincing and authentic "dark" occult heavy metal band. They do it better than anyone else, even though many others come close. Black Seal is amazing, specifically "Necromancy" (god damn) and "The Mirror of the Soul" (double god damn).

And yet the same band writes a happy, Slough Feg-esque folksy album like Kargeras. Who knew.

And I like the first five songs on Black Seal the best, but the whole album is really awesome. I just wish the last track wasn't 19 minutes, because I actually kind of like that chanting he's looping over and over and over and over and over...

A lot of it has to do with Big Boss's incredible baritone (even though it is occasionally ruined by that ridiculously thick accent, but only rarely does it ruin the mood for me).
