Paganfest 2009 website says the dates are pushed till fall... but some sites say otherwise. Does anyone have or know of the official dates and times for the US tour?

Well the MySpace for Paganfest says May and all of the bands MySpace pages say May as well. I don't know how much stock to put in that website as the post directly below where it says "Postponed" also says that Unleashed is part of Paganfest this year (if only we could be so lucky).

Thats for Europe. The Paganfest 2 touring across america has dates on their myspace and you can get times from venue websites.

Is there a European version of the tour this year. I went to the one last year, it was a fantastic line up (Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Tyr, etc). I have seen the American line up this year has Primordial and the like, and wondered if they are doing a European version?

I don't really care who's headlining, but I am looking forward to seeing Korpiklaani. I wish Finntroll were there too.

Equilibrium don't even tour most of Europe so NA would be a bit of a long shot.

That sucks. They're a great band.

Now if they'll change it to either Moonsorrow or Primordial as headliners instead of Korpiklaani, it'll be perfect. I think a half hour for Korpiklaani would be plenty for me--do a nice bit of jigging, get my energy flowing, and then get into the mood for nice long sets from Moonsorrow and Primordial.

Some of those comments on blabbermouth leave me completely flabbergasted. Some people were going to go to Paganfest only for Eluveitie?? I'm going to assume they've just never heard the better bands on the line-up and leave it at that.

didn't Eluveitie headline last year too? i guess the Paganfest organizers are playing it smart and don't want to ruin their tour by having Eluveitie headline or appear on every years billing.

i recommend everyone go see the Pagan Knights tour.

I'm indifferent to losing Eluveitie on the tour. It would have been cool to see them but I also support longer Primordial/Moonsorrow sets.

And if you guys can't see the appeal of Eluveitie, you might want to check how foggy your monocle is. Apparently they aren't all that bad or "mainstream" - Nemtheanga is lending his voice to two songs on Eluveitie's newest album.

This truly sucks. They had cancelled their appearance at the Montreal Paganfest show last year and we got some shitty band to replace them and they had cancelled another show for Québec City in the last year, so this'll be the third time I've waited to see them live, only to be told that it's cancelled. Starting to get on my nerves.

Their new song is pretty cool. For people calling it ''pop'' it's not, it just fits with their new album. From the M-A page for said album: "This is an all acoustic album and is the first of a two album concept." Don't expect metal.

new songs and some older ones. if you want to, you can also stick around and meet the guys from the bands. they were always happy to talk before or after their sets. i didn't know it was both Suidakra's and Alestorm's first times in the USA, so make 'em feel welcomed! :)

Awesome, I'll have to sneak in some good microbrews so they know that not all American beer is swill!

How the hell did Swashbuckle get on this tour?

That aside, I am only really interested in Primordial though I keep hearing Moonsorrow is really good too. Hopefully I will enjoy their set and want to get their material.

i'm not 100% sure, but i want to say i was seeing some European beer brands in my venue. there were small bottles and bottles which i have never seen around. don't quote me on that though, may have just been what the venue served. but from what i saw, none of them were drinking American beer. Alestorm were drinking the Heinekens

I heard somewhere that the dates for the US tour are final?

Last year, they had to cancel the Arizona show due to vehicle problems, but they said they'd make it up to us.
There isn't an Arizona show posted.

Upsetting.

According to their website it's the same. Even here the Jaxx website is accurate with it too.

New update: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=116123

Quote:
Swiss folk band ELUVEITIE has issued the following statement regarding the cancellation of its participation in the "PaganFest America: Part II" tour, which is scheduled to kick off in late April in Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

"We are very sorry to announce that we will not be able to make it to this year's edition of Paganfest USA after all. We would like to make clear that this was in no way the decision of the band and that we all were looking forward to do this tour a lot. Also we are working on a replacement tour within 2009 where we'll hopefully also be able to play a special showcase featuring songs off our upcoming acoustic release, 'Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion' (due April 11). We will be back for sure 'cause you guys truly rock and we did not forget the warm welcome we've received on Paganfest I and Death By Decibels!"

"Paganfest America: Part II" will feature Finland's folk freaks KORPIKLAANI as the headliners, Ireland's PRIMORDIAL, Finland's MOONSORROW, Canada's BLACKGUARD (formerly known as PROFUGUS MORTIS) and straight off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, New Jersey's crazy pirate metal drunks SWASHBUCKLE as the opening party-starters throughout the tour.
