I just got done encoding and upping this set, hopefully the band doesn't have problems with the posting of their old stuff. I guess I'll find out!

I have a Tokyo show of theirs from '96 and I thought it was the strangest thing how at the end of every song you could hear a pin drop. Zero crowd reaction.

Pretty much the same at this one. The few people that may be watching are all sitting at tables being quiet. Maybe they don't want to be caught on tape?

Practically a Venom cover band. They should've played more Scorn Defeat material. Love the Teacher's Pet cover. Underrated Venom song. Sigh's version of the solo sucks, though.

Why were they only playing Venom covers?
From what I've heard from Sigh, they don't need to play covers to impress the fans.

It was something they were doing as a tribute to Venom, I think. Isn't it listed on their MA page?

I would've been pissed had I gone to that show, only to see a bunch of Venom covers.

It was 1994. Sigh only had one CD out at the time.

It's not really a good idea to play only one song from that album.

yeah, it's ironic, they are so pretentious, yet one can say that at least they don't pretend. They don't release some techno-rap-whatever album and say "on this record we tried to sound like in our old days"

I thought that was polite in Japan? I think they covered that in Global Metal, maybe not...

Yeah, I figured it was probably down to the Japanese fans being polite or reserved or something. Still seems odd to witness. I can see being quiet during performances, but I think I'd feel a little strange to get that sort of lack of reaction at the end of a song. I guess if the crowd isn't into your band they just quietly shuffle out the door or to the back of the room during your set?
