He played drums for Immortal and Gorgoroth for a while. Does anyone here know exactly why he killed himeself? I know he purposefully overdosed on class A drugs but thats about it.

No one can truely know what is in a person's mind during suicide or why. Especially in a guy like that.

I thought I had heard that he had strong bouts of depression brought on by being Bi-Polar, and that's what did it.

This is the answer. To get it you need to not get it. However, if he was bipolar it's a bit of an explanation, many bipolar people kill themselves.

Lots of guys in Metal kill themselves. I cant remember who it was, but one band used there members suicide pic as an album cover. Guy also left a death note "Sorry for all the blood"

Yeah, more black metal bands need to have a skullcrushing snare tone like Grim's.

Not about Grim's drumming.

Question:
Did Grim play on Pure Holocaust? MA says no but other sources say yes.

I thought that was a big no. He's credited but joined the band right after the recording and was only involved in the photo shoot and the touring thereafter. I was pretty sure it was still Abbath drumming.

It just seems weird to me because the drumming is way worse on Battles in the North, but Pure Holocaust is an earlier recording.

I love the drumming on both, very frenetic. But I see what you mean in a sense that PH sounds more structured.. but I am pretty sure it wasn't Grim. Maybe someone should ask Abbath or Demonaz?

PH was sped up by 12% after recording.

I heard the first Gorgoroth's vocalist Hat commited suicide also. And then I readed it in an old spanish page about black metal.
But now I can't find any evidence about if he did it or he's still alive, maybe singing Incipit Satan in the shower...

I'd bet on Hat being alive. Infernus might of fabricated a bizarre gardening accident in order to seem more kvlt.

Especially if it's a fake. Anyway, I think the guy killed himself because he was a fucking idiot. Not sure if he's dead, though.
