We all know that "scene" is created not only by big and famous names but also with a lot of bands that put out only demos or EP. I was aware of that fact, but never really attack importance to it, until i've read thanks list on Wrekking Machine - Mechanistic Termination. Half of the names there were absolutely unknown to me f.e. Bacchus (now i know, thanks to MA, what is this). So this is why i have started this topic. What are greatest bands from Bay Area that never recorded an LP, but were a part of the Bay area thrash scene of the 80? (or not recorded an album in "thrash metal golden years" - 83-94)? What demo of these bands do you especially recommend?

Ulysses Siren is an obvious mention, and probably the best one among them all.

Hellhound had a few demos and some compilation albums of their demos.

Someone in the thrash recommendation thread mentioned Assassin's Blitzed Resistance and it's really good aggressive stuff, worthy of Baloff-era Exodus. Speaking of Baloff, check out Piranha's 1988 demo. The song Alone We'll Survive is a classic.

Hellhound, Assassin and Piranha are all good recommendations, yes.

Damn, all suggestions I come up with turn out to be from L.A. Dissenter (US) is a personal favourite from there, and I suspect that the 'Evil Within' Catalepsy (US) would originate there as well.

EDIT: Damnakleez! An often overlooked '86 demo, one member later joining Piranha. Not the best production obviously, but good enough toa make out nice riffs and tempo! Dark Angel sure come to mind.
