Hello. First of all, although this is my first post, this is not my first account.

Now that I got that bit of trivia out of the way, let me get to the point of this topic. It is for this list right here:

http://rateyourmusic.com/list/xJx_Joshu ... etal_epics

There is a topic about this at rateyourmusic.com as well, but I thought the community here may appreciate this more. So, here you go! A brand new list for fans of post-metal (or whatever you want to call it, I dont really care) and sludge. This list is focused around the epics of the genre, and includes nothing but songs that are 20+ minutes in this area of music (or extremely close to being so). Genre specifics, song lengths, reccomendations, and even warnings on what items are currently rated low, are all included on this list.

Note: This list is focused more on the post-metal and sludge end of things as opposed to stoner metal and drone doom.

Hope you guys enjoy it, and if you have anything that could be placed on this list, please let me know about it. This is list is kinda short at the moment, and there is a lot that needs to be added to it. But everything has a start.

Consider this a christmas gift.

Nice list. I'm a huge fan of post-metal. One you seem to have forgotten is
Black Noise Cannon - Unsaved: The Reality of the Silent War
- Track 1 - A Descriptive Introduction to the Silent War (28:07)

I think anything by monolithe should go on this chart, though they're more funeral doom. each of their albums is one ridiculously long song.

Glad you guys like it! :D

I'm not going to add Asunder or Monolithe immediately because of the genres listed on MA (death/doom and funeral doom). But I will look into them, and see if I can stick them on. If not, I do plan on making a list like this for both funeral doom and black metal shortly. So if I cant sneak them on here, they will definitely be on the funeral doom list. Thanks for the heads up on these guys!

And also, yeah , I think Natasha should definitely be on there lol. Half the song was ambient, but the other half was ridiculously massive sludge.

Thank you very much. Sludge and post are my favourite genres of metal (except for Black). This is very helpful

Great list!

I'd like to suggest the following:

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=191665

Buried at Sea - Ghost
