Anyways, I was in a very thrashy mood today, so I listened to favorite of mine: Death Angel's 'The Ultra-Violence'. Plus, the weather was beautiful, opposed top the dreaded cold we've had for the past months, so I got to put down my windows to get that cool breeze and crank up that thrash for the world to hear I got a lot of strange looks when I had to pick up my sister from her school, but I don't give a fuck.

Holy Moses' Current Of Death is one heavy adrenalin booster.The double kick drums of Uli Kusch makes you want to press the accelerator to the fullest.

Razor's Violent Restitution is another album I would certainly not recommend while driving unless of course you want to commit Harakiri. Its the perfect suicide solution(not the Ozzy song)

the first time i remember thinking of this topic seriously was a on a 6 hour drive with my ex girlfriend to a holiday spot up north when i was like 17. (7 years ago). i was listening to IRON MAIDENs first two albums a lot. i thought the epic galopy qualities of MAIDEN made for great travelling music. these days i guess that stands true (predominantely for longer trips) fr summer driving around town with a few beers, something fast, possibly upbeat. (80's Glam if youre into it) for long journeys some epic folk, power or black/viking metal could hit the spot.

It's probably a good thing I don't have a car anymore, or I'd wreck it while driving 100 mph to the sounds of demolition hammer!

If I didn't have metal blasting in my car every morning while stuck in work traffic, I'd probably be a road-rage case. Every time we get a little weather around here, everyone loses their fucking minds.

Anyway, due to the weird acoustics in my car or something, anything heavy on the treble distorts and gives me a headache. I have to turn it down to make it sound right, and what the fuck point is there to quiet metal? Melodic DM like Amon Amarth or Kalmah works well, or Death/Black like Azarath or Blood Red Throne.

Usually I'll just pick whatever album I feel like listening to, though sometimes I tailor my choice based on where I'm going or what the weather is like outside. Today it was melancholy and lightly snowing here so I broke out some My Dying Bride and Katatonia...

Bolt Thrower are epic in the car. You crush the road. Also, one Opeth song into a car ride, and you are half way to where you were going. Xysma, and then Woods of Ypres because of all the Canadian road references.

Preferably Swedish old school death such as Morbid Angel, Dismember, Treblinka, Nihilist ect.

It gives one that great feeling of smooth driving into the infinity and beyond!
