Jeez, these guys pump out albums like there's no tomorrow. They haven't even given people enough time to let the last one sink in.

Meh, I'd rather have them pump out albums every year than a lot of other bands/artists. No big deal.

Yeah, I just heard about this today. A new style did he say? I'd love to hear more black metal from these guys.

I guess when you don't tour or...do anything from the looks of it, you have time to make albums quickly.

Black Sabbath released 4 albums in two years, and Varg wrote the majority of his Black Metal output during a short time period. Personally I was disappointed with Dark Thrones and Black Flags, but the band is clearly onto something, in that they've got some creative fire lit under their asses.

They've been playing black metal for over 16 years.

I wish I got a new Darkthrone album with each of my paychecks... they can't put them out fast enough.

Like this is a surprise? It's been told for a long time that they're recording music all the time and put out an album when they got enough material for it.

I wonder what ever happened to the idea of Zephyrous rejoining, or at least being a guest contributor.

I'm a Dark Throne fanatic and a fan of their last couple of albums so I see no reason not to buy it outright. If any such band has earned the credibility, it's them.

:durr: Even though the only album that sounded remotely crusty was The Cult is Alive.

Awesome to hear, these guys just love writing albums!!! I really love this band!

Im a fan of all the Darkthrone material, and have particularly enjoyed the last three albums. So bring on new material!!!! Darkthrone was a black metal band that i only really heard and got into after years of listening to other various black metal groups before hand. Since then i really enjoyed going thru and buying the discography and then listening too all the different styles of albums they had. I started out on 'Under A Funeral Moon', then bought 'The Cult Is Alive' as it was their new release at the time, then have been back and forth throughout all their different styles buying their releases.

Its was great having a band as solid and changing as Darkthrone, to be able to look back over their large discography as a new fan and read up the reviews of all the different albums, then go and choose what era/style of the band you want to listen to.

Damn, Darkthrone are putting out a lot of material these days. I think its a shame really because for me they are only spoiling their glory days (soulside, blaze, moon) I didn't mind Transylvanian Hunger but the production was a step down and the songs didnt carry the same weight. I think they truly lost the plot with panzerfaust and everything after that has just gone completely over my head.

I had never heard of that. I don't think it's possible. Darkthrone has become a very solid formula after 13 years of the same two guys who are in the band.

As for all who say Darkthrone is producing a lot of music. Yeah, it's great though. I love Darkthrone, and if money allowed me i'd make a point to buy and own everything they've recorded. They've earned that sort of credibility and are one of those bands who continue to make great albums. HIKING METAL PUNKS! :headbang:

I wish they would slow down and release 1 great album, instead of 2 good albums.

I'm surprised they haven't slow down with age, seems like they sped up. I can't think of any band as old as them that puts so much material so fast.

Agreed. Maybe they should took 2 years to make an album instead of one, or made 2 albums worth of stuff and only took the best tracks. It seems like they're just pumping out more stuff at will, and Peaceville sure as hell isn't gonna stop them as long as it keeps selling. The last one was good, F.O.A.D. didn't impress me much, The Cult is Alive was somewhat interesting at least. Who knows, maybe they'll produce another Soulside Journey one of these days :P

Darkthrone will always sell records no matter if they take 1 year or 2 years to make the albums.

Hm, the doom band Against Nature (formerly Revelation) has put out something like ten records inn the last three years.

I'm sure the album won't be out for another year at least. It's bound to be interesting. "Dark Thrones and Black Flags" is definitely a step up from the previous two, which I also liked.

I'm in support of this new album. I've liked just about everything they've released, so I haven't been let down yet. Hopefully the new release will be as good as the past few.

Time for yet another mediocre album.

I'm not much of a fan of Darkthrone(Although I love the new album). It would be interesting to make a switch back to their old death metal days and combine it with their crust punk sound they have now.

That would be like, pretty cool.

Steady Ted hinted at it in an interview about a year back.

It doesn't surprise me that Darkthrone are going to record a new album so soon because they are a studio band, so, they have the time. By the way looking forward to it as always, it is going to be something big as always!!!!

Rule applies to everyone but me :-D

I hope the slow, Autopsy vibe present in parts of the new album develop further in the next one.
