Tankard are a blast from the past for me. I once got one of their songs (Empty) on a compilation CD, and I listened to them non stop for weeks, as I was only just getting into metal at the time (I don't think I even owned Reign In Blood :o).

Man, it's been a long time since I've thought about this band; didn't even know they were still active.

That's sad. Their recent albums are a helluva lot better than most reunion or retro albums.

More than ever. I saw them live twice last year, and they kicked so much ass it wasn't true, plus "The beauty and the beer" is one of their best ever albums IMO.

Agree with all the above, totally overlooked band who seemed to have faded out of the limelight towards the end of the 90's. Will look forward to there new release, as they are one of the few thrash bands not to have strayed to far from there musical roots and can still compete with the best of them, and release quality albums at a steady rate.

They still kick ass over most 'reunion' or 'retro' bands' new stuff as another poster said.

Yeah I got the special edition with DVD and you can read my thoughts in the review I submitted. I'm seeing them live with Violator and Hyades saturday, and there'll be a signing session before the gigs with the bands. Can't wait!

Love Tankard. They deserve to stand amongst Kreator and Destruction in my books.
