I'd like to put a Youtube video, as a tribute to some of the great heavy metal musicians, Does anyone know where I can find a site that can give me a list of metal musicians that have passed on? That would be great, I'd like a little help in this. Maybe if you guys know of some, besides ones I already know (Dimebag, Vitek, Chuck Schuldiner) and so on

Thanks in advance

Tomas Forsberg, better known as 'Quorthon'. Definitely a genius musician. He will live forever on in my blackened heart.

How do you intend to do this tribute video? Will you try and play a sample from a song by each person who has passed on, or just one song playing over everything?

I was shocked when Krzysztof Raczkowski died. I hope you include him in your tribute video. Fantastic drummer.

I still haven't checked out the link.....I'm gonna do that now...

EDIT: I just checked out the link. Very cool page. I was a bit surprised and pleased to see Krullenzith from Gates of Enoch listed.

If you do individual song snippets, you just have to use One Rode to Asa Bay for Quorthon. It's very fitting as a memorial song.

Don't forget Per Yngve Ohlin or Angelripper from Sodom. Some the above mentioned metallers are in vastly different quarters of the difference between accomplishment and noteriety though.

Well I am only doing enough for about a 8 minute video, so I will see who I can fit in.

This project might take me a while.

Also, i've thought about adding a clip of a song. Maybe a 15 to 20 second clip?

Don't forget Mike Baker, the singer for Shadow Gallery. Only 45 years old, incredible singer. Died on October 29, this year. I actually teared up when I found out.

You could just go to the search and type "Lineup: R.I.P". It gives a LOT of results, if you wanna be really accurate.

I would be careful with that, it is good for general orientation, but a lot of people abuse the database for trolling/personal vendettas.

I would stick to Voices list for the start, even if for example Larry Sapp is still alive, at least according to Jeff Acres.

Such info can be first cleansed up first when discovered, sadly.

Last week, I have discovered that one Chilean band had one drummer dead from suffocation by a dick (written in Spanish) and another one died from "spontaneous human combustion" in truly Spinal Tap style.

Not to speak about the less known black metal bands and their suicide stories...

I had NO idea Pussy Ripper died.

There I was listening to Sextrash, not knowing much about them, thinking 'Wow, why did these guys have such a long break between their second and third albums?'

:(

Its gonna take a long time for this video, I am gonna put alot into it. I was going through that list, and seen a few bands, (not well known) and the musician who is gone, and man. It shocks me to this day.

looking through that website was extremely depressing. I can remember where I was and what I was doing when I found out Dimebag and Chuck died.

Hammerheart is also quite fitting as a memorial song. Not his best but certainly very fitting for that mood.

I remember the day I found out.

I had to sit down, I was in shock, and I just sat there, and cried. He was wayyy to young, and had a lot of talent. He is one reason why I now play the drums, he inspired me alot.

Doc from Vader
Ingo from Helloween

Two fantastic drummers, two different genres, both sadly missed.
