Anything from Painkiller.

Also, Out of the Shadows, Children of the Damned and The Nomad by Maiden.

I also love Damage Inc's chorus - BLOOD! WILL! FOLOWWWW! BLOOOOD!

Fly on your way like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your wings like an eagle
Fly and touch the sun!

I'm not much of a chorus guy, but Iron Maiden sure knew how to brew up some appealing choruses.

Yeah, suppose so, especially "One Shot at Glory". But for me, the best Priest chorus ever is "Tyrant". THat's just one of the most infectious metal songs all round and then the chorus comes in and brings in this really awesome English folk rock feel with the harmonised vocals .. argh, it's pretty much a perfect song.

I believe it's "Bombfoooooooooooooood!!!", but yeah, that chorus always has me doing the power slide and shrieking along.

Weird typo. But yeah, I honestly don't know how people can hear that, not stand up, go completely insane and start yelling like a madman.

Fates Warning - Fata Morgana

I'd post the lyrics but you already know them and I'd tell you why I like it but you already like it too.

Some of my favs are :

Stratovarius - Will My Soul Ever Rest In Peace?

Will there come a time for me when I'll find peace of mind?
Will I always have this feeling like I'm last in the line?
I will climb up a mountain and light up a candle and ask:
"Will my soul ever rest in peace?"

Symphony X - Evolution (The Grand Design)

Here we are - Children of Sun and Stars
the first to know and to understand
Living by the Law of the Ages
prophets and sages - forging Utopia

Symphony X - A Fool's Paradise

Is this the end of all we know -
Innocence lost so long ago
Woven in dreams - the darkest of schemes
now takes hold of our destiny
Decades of greed, plague, famine and war
we can't go on like this anymore
living like fools - chaos will rule
this eternal paradise

This is our chance to make, not brake our world down.
We can save, not enslave and make ourselves proud
Not ashamed of the sickness that's ours.
The sickness that's ours…

Ted Maul - And We Tolerate the Sickness

Not exactly a chorus but it owns and owns hard.

Oh hell, yes. That chorus was what really made me fall in love with the album ... well, that and the infamous night of "Pit and the pendulum", which I've related enough on here already.

I also fucking love the chorus in 'Exodus.' Especially the 'far beyond the myriad of crypts and pyramids' part where it just ascends to an even higher plateau out of nowhere.

Yes, best moment on the album I'd say, and that is high praise. I could fall asleep to that chorus and be standing up with pride to it on the next listen. It's beautiful, majestic, moving.

I think Mark Shelton excels at writing exceptionally catchy, yet often very direct choruses. From the first to the newest album, there are so many hooks that can get stuck in your head for days.

:nods:

I think Wolf have some awesome choruses and awesome vocal patterns in general. Electric Raga has an awesome chorus, Venom makes you want to sing along, The Bite... Classic catchy heavy metal choruses.

Electric Raga wrote:
Oh, close your eyes and see
And let the Raga take you far away
Fade into the light

Steelwinged Savage Reaper wrote:

Face of destruction and danger

Man eating killing machine

Some other songs which, in my opinion have severely awesome and metal choruses:

Iced Earth - Desert Rain
Forefather - Theodish Belief
Primordial - Heathen Tribes
Manowar - Ummm... all of them?

Dissident Aggressor has probably the best chorus ever in the history of metal music. Probably the best thing to yell out while listening to metal.

Every song on To The Nameless dead has awesome vocals and lyrics. I can't help but find myself singing to each song. I think that might be the one characteristic separating To The Nameless dead from their earlier material - the "singability" of the songs.
