Try Operation Winter Mist for some grinding black/death metal coupled with lyrics about war and winter in general. Songs like Iron coffins and In the Trenches are about WWI. There are also some songs about WWII as well. They also have a very proud Canadian vibe in a lot of their lyrics.

Also recommend this band. Not the "best in existence" as someone else put it, but still a good listen.

Oh man, I can do a lot for WWII. I don't know any off of the top of my head for WWI; I'll have to look.

I don't think so, The Korean Conflict is often referred as the forgotten war by veterans of.

From the name alone and since it qualifies as "war metal", Nervengas has some pretty decent raw songs in the vein of Burzum and Gorgoroth that reminded me of WWI horror by some lyrics. Have any of you guys heard this band yet?

Skinless: Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead has a WWI'ish cover with the guy holding a Bayonet Rifle and gas mask.

There are individual songs by different bands here and there, but the only album that comes to my mind being wholly and particularly about WWI, is the already mentioned Skyforger - Latviešu Strēlnieki (Latvian Riflemen).

Just goes to show, size doesn't matter if you don't know how to use it :P

All of them.

I may be mistaken, but I think Endstille have some WW1 themed songs.
