Before the actual song "Kathaarian Life Code" begins, what is being said (Or rather, whispered)? All I can really tell for sure is that it ends with "We..are..a blaze..in..the..northern..sky", and before that, "I enter the serpent". I remember a thread on this awhile back; can't recall much of it however.

To me it sounds like a dude with a knife stuck in his stomach.

"Face of the goat in the mirror
We've become a race of the cursed seeds
I entered the soul of the snake
We are a blaze in the Northern sky"

One of the best intros ever

Definitely. And this is what I've deciphered as well.

Probably a reference to the heretic Cathars.

Aw, but they were such good-hearted people!

But yes, that's probably it. Anybody else got an idea?

Blimey, that's spooky, I listened to that very song today for the first time in years! And I was trying to listen to what he was saying...

I'd also like to know what the chanting is in the background.

It's "Agathos Daemon". Known from the band "Nebiras" whom is also thanked in the booklet.

It looks like they may well be decent, I'd love to hear some samples. I'm confused by the formerly known as Necrofist addition though. Aren't the "Formed In" dates a bit conflicting?

Interesting. Is this band any good? ANyone know?

Demos are extremely good second-wave Black Metal. The MCD suffers in my opinion from the drumcomputer-like sound (probably human, probably not...I don't know). But the demos kick ass. The demos appear quiet regularly on ebay for less than $15.

I feel as though my life has meaning, now that I know what the hell they are saying at the beginning of "Kathaarian Life Code". A haunting, excellent build-up, one of the few intros I have never skipped on an album.

Haha, agreed. Yet after I listen to it, I have to listen to the rest of the song. Too bad they cut the intro when Nocturno performed it at Wacken.

I think he says it at the end of the album, too.

I've never noticed that, though i suffer from owning the digipak reissue, which i don't recall seeing mention in. I've been trying to figure out what's being chanted, but could never make it out.

Not from Nebiras, but from Necromatia. it's said in the booklet: "Agathos Daimon, Necromantia and all other bands we're in contact with".

It's two bands. Agathos Daimon from Nebiros and the guys in Necromantia. There was no "Agathos Daimon" in Necromantia.

Agathos Daimon is a Greek phrase, though, so it could be roughly equivalent to "Salute to" or "Greetings".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agathodaemon

Seems like a rather unusual salute or greeting.

But perfectly acceptable in reference to Greek bands. Anyway, it seems both of you know better.

Would someone mind uploading the first or second demo by Nebiras, I was intrigued by the myspace songs.....

If you do upload it, please PM me. I don't think it is allowed to post links in forum.
