So I was listening to Accept, the album Balls to the Wall, and I figured out that the song "Love Child" is about homosexuality. So is Rammstein's (whatever, I like them) song "Mann Gegen Mann" from the album Rosenrot. Does anyone else know of any songs that explicitely (not graphically, explicitely) describe homosexuality? I know Rob Halford is gay and AC/DC means bi. Thats not news.

"Love Child" isn't about homosexuality, but it may seem that way because it was written from a woman's perspective (by a woman in fact).

Also, AC/DC may mean ''bi'', but the members of the band did not know that when they named the band. They did so because they saw it on the side of a sewing machine, and thought it had something to do with power. (Which it does)

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=60392 this band has lyrics about golden showers and homosexuality.

Asides from that, you're either gonna have "fuck homos" style lyrics, or "LAWLS, let's sing about teh gheyness!" kinda lyrics that a lot of grindcore/pornogrind/goregrind bands have. And some random stuff supporting it.

Unless someone trolled their lyrical themes which seems more likely.

Is Restless Oblivion by Anathema gay, from a woman's perspective, or is their a definition of inamorato I don't know about?

Obvious is Anti-Homophobe by Brutal Truth. Another one that comes to mind is Aryanisms by Napalm Death (it's anti-nazi actually) which has a last line "I cannot begin to comprehend how you wear such shame with vigour - Homophobic race antagonist".
Disrupt has one too, Smash Divisions, which is about homosexuality. Most of the political grindcore/crust bands have atleast some pro-gay lyrics. I don't know any death metal bands that have that kind of lyrics though.

More anti-homophobe lyrics by Napalm Death:

"Same sex, different habits - who gives a fucking shit
This won't make the species unfurl" ("Puritanical Punishment Beating")

"You're a bit part
Outliving your worth
Where do you stand in the Aryan pecking order?

We are "faggots", "Jews" and traitors
Because we resist the will to hate.

Here's supremacy: To rise above paranoia
Is it others who're diseased for dismissing your flawed criteria?

You've been sold short to a scam" ("Sold Short")

"No urge to procreate - no crime to stimulate
To stem the flow of love - a weary, bygone age

So pledge yourself to you
Pledge yourself to you

Family fucking values
I've heard it all before
Passionless fucking robots
It's how we will function" ("Pledge Yourself To You")

That is a total myth, it is not! :P

The only Priest song that is directly about homosexuality is "Call For The Priest/Raw Deal". lol

Rob Halford's lyrics are (most of time) never directly gay, they can be interpreted either way.

To be honest, I usually only see homophobia in metal.
Examples being Faust, of Emperor, who murdered a homosexual man;
or Jon Nödtveidt of Dissection who did the same.

I've heard Faust did it because the guy was trying to do... some stuff... with him in the forest, rather than out of any "He's gay, let's stab him!" sentiment.

What about the new Gorgoroth material?

But as a homosexual who listens to black metal and folk metal, I can echo your statements. Frankly though I have never much looked for gay sex in lyrics, for music is often more important that that to me. If it does mention homosexuality in a tasteful and effectively sinister way, then that is great. But joke humor and stuff like Pure X is not enjoyable to me. Perhaps Now that Gaahl is loudly homosexual, he may use it in a creative and clever way in Gorgoroth's music. I mean, just look at the cover of their latest album. After all, homosexuality is seen as an evil corruption that is a 'plague' upon humainty. I think that can fit in well with the evil and demonic embrace of black metal.

Perhaps, but Jon's actions were unprovoked. And I will also remind you that the officail report states that the guy asked Faust if he would like to 'go with him'. If Faust agreed to follow him into some dark corner, then he must have had some idea what was going on. And there are some abnds in Russia and South Amreica those members are touting that they have killed gays before.

Anyways, why would any dude want to have sex with Faust? He is about the ugliest asshole I have ever seen.

Yep, that's exactly right. Just juvenile minded idiots choose to apply any Priest lyrics to do with love or sex as homosexual. When Rob sings a song like "Turbo Lover" for example, in his mind he's probably thinking about another man. But that doesnt mean that the song or the lyrics themselves are homosexual. They can interpretated as straight, if you are striaight, and are looking at them from that perspective. "Raw Deal" is the only Priest song that is directly about homosexuality.

I believe a few Orgy tracks are about homosexuality as well, or atleast bi-curiosity.

The lyrics to track 1 on "None So Vile" are graphically homoerotic, even though one of the participants is, um, the devil.

I think that Diabolos Rising/Raism have some explicitly homosexually-inclined lyrics, but it's been a while since I listened to them. They are probably S&m-themed and mostly just intended to shock, as inn Impaled Nazarene.

It doesn't matter to me as long as the music is good to my ears. Hell, I am bisexual myself and I would support such a thing in metal, as long as they aren't strutting down the road in a Gay Pride parade dressed up in pink/purple or some other flamboyant look.

We need a band who writes about gay and bisexual men and women beating the shit out of straight, evengelical Christians and other anti-Christian activities.

Its from a girl's perspective isn't it?, but Pathological Frolic is a far better example of homosexuality...?

I think You Say Yes and All The Way are pretty much about homosexuality, but not as explicitely as Raw Deal is.

I'm guessing, by the assumption that the guys in Anathema are not gay, that they used the wrong word, but had the right idea. While Inamorato means "male lover" in Italian, it would be safe to say that Anathema might have mistaken it with Innamorati which means one who is in love. Who really knows though...besides Anathema themselves.

I think it's hilarious that so many metalheads want metal to be understood and appreciated, yet don't think that sentiment should be extended to homosexuals.

Metalheads accept homosexuality rather well. Or atleast my friends who are metalheads accept it. Hell, raveneyeslikemirrors said that he's gay and seems that no one cared (or noticed :P). Just look at the previous threads homosexuality and you'll see.

I don't see much homophobia in metal. At least, not any more than in any group of people. The metal world was largely accepting of Rob Halford.

And then you get into the world of grind, and anti-homophobic sentiment is fairly common, along with anti-bigotry in general.

That's what I also think because if they were gay or a member in the band was gay we probably would have other hints in other songs. I really hadn't remarked that inamorato thing before hehe, rather interesting. And if they were gay, who cares? It doesn't change the music.

Although many metalheads seem to have nothing against gays, many black metal fans are extremely homophobic. This guy at the radio I work at is pretty homophobic and said he hates Gaahl because he's gay (although he likes Gorgoroth's music if I'm correct). I asked him why and he wasn't able to have any solid argument except that "he's an idiot" and "he's gay". Am I the only one that sees this as truly following the path of black metal? Hell, the music is all about individuality and opposition which is clearly what Gaahl is doing anyways. Frickin' black metal people...

I had no idea that Gaahl is gay.

Anyway, in terms of homosexual lyrics in metal I've only ever really encountered jokey stuff from bands like Impaled Nazarene (apart from the bands that I have now seen mentioned in this thread of course).

Gay For Johnny Depp feature lyrics that are entirely about homsexuality but they are more metalcore/ hardcore than metal.

I like the idea of that. It's also generally considered very anti-christian (at least that's the idea get, though I will admit I know VERY little about christianity), which kind of fits along with what they're already doing.

Well, what I understand, based on his interview in "Lords of Chaos:...", is it seems the man propositioned him, and Faust decided that he should agree on false pre-tense so that he could follow him into the woods and kill him. I think I remember him saying that he knew instantly, that he was going to kill the man. I think he may have put forth a sense of disgust about him too. Though to be honest, it has been a couple years since I've read it; but that's the general information lingering in my head at the moment....
