Any fans of this band here? The new split LP w/ FALSE has just been released, and the first full length is repressed and available now too.

Look for upcoming shows in Louisiana and possibly surrounding areas (Houston), and eventually a new album.

Barghest is black metal from Louisiana. False is black metal from Minnesota. Both bands are in the Archives. Barghest is on facebook. The albums are done by Gilead Media. http://gileadmedia.net/

Barghest takes the raw, hateful, brutal approach. False goes with the Norwegian sound. I recommend picking up the split album. Both sides are good, possibly better than the bands' previous self titled full lengths.

Is that "HOLY SHIT" in reference to Thou's sound or how many releases they have listed?

Barghest does not sound much like Thou. If you like or don't like one, it doesn't really mean that you will like or not like the other. There is one guy who's in both bands. Terry (drummer) was in both bands at some point, but now he's in neither. Both bands are heavy though, for sure.

I know Barghest doesn't doesn't sound like Thou.... I'm saying it's the same high quality performance and writing. I miss Terry in Thou, played his farwell show in baton rouge. I don't think I've ever meet you though.

Yeah I don't get out much. But now I play drums for Barghest, so if you come to a show we can have beers together or something. We're playing in New Orleans on October 15, which is a Monday night. We don't have anything scheduled after that yet, but Barghest has been playing shows a lot more frequently since I've been in the band.

Any Barghest fans in Austin? We are playing at House of Commons in Austin TX tonight with Thou and For Want Of.

Then Barghest and THOU are playing "No Thanks Fest" in Emory TX tomorrow night.

Then we (Barghest & Thou) are playing in Baton Rouge Sunday with Christworm and Samothrace.

Come to one of these if you can.
