Coming this summer as a co-release of Unspeakable Axe and Grim Winds Records. Angelcrust play a blend of black metal and powerviolence that sets them in a category of their own. The songs are short blasts of controlled chaos in the best punk/grind tradition. Two unmastered tracks here (the full release will contain a lot more once it's done):

I'm digging it. it really reminds me of power violence with a few black metal riffs thrown in.

Yeah, it's pretty great stuff - albeit kind of off-beat (even for metal). Not sure how big of a market there is for a band like this, but fuck it, I like it.

market it more as blackened power violence. cause if you are going to tell everyone it's crust... they'll be disappointed it doesn't have that heaft or feel to the riffs, at least to the 2 songs I heard. It basically sounded like infest smashing headfirst into darkthrone.

I think you're right about that, and I just noticed the band describe themselves on Facebook as powerviolence (among several other things), so... there ya go.
