Blog update:

"Durvasag pretty much turned up the dial on everything on this promo. It's faster, it's tighter, it's barbaric."
What we have here is a return to form with Durvasag's EP promo from 2012. Blackened thrash with some major improvements from their earlier incarnations.

Still available is the 100th Review Anniversary compilation. 20 tracks, just short of 2 hours of hellish glory by some great bands. Still free!

Thanks for reviewing my Stranglion Rot album. For some reason I have always difficulties on commenting on Blogspot so I'll comment here.

You brought up good points. I've been practicing my drumming and I hope that I'll get better drum tracks for the next release. Also the production should then be a bit better for I have been practicing that too. I should probably do something about my vocals too.

I enjoyed your review a lot. Keep on reviewing stuff.

Cheers!

Thanks for the review dude. Pretty spot on! On the muddiness of the albums, keep in mind, there are no existing masters for these releases. Hell Party was a direct rip from cassette (it's only release format until now) and Circles of Hate was also only put out on Cassette and Vinyl. Also, I notice you refer to the albums as "Gems" in the first paragraph yet culminate the review noting that they are not "gems" in the final paragraph. You may want to fix that for continuity. ^_-

Continuity is for wusses! Thanks for the heads up though.
About the production I guessed it was probably something like that, but especially Hell Party suffered a lot from the sound being a bit too gritty for my taste. Good stuff though!

It's cool dude, just specifying. Personally, I love that style of production for thrash... I can't stand pristine production on intended-to-be-dirty music. To each their own though. I bet you'll love the production on the Forestfather release though. That shit is about as excellent sounding as you can get.

I ended up changing the stuff you talked about slightly :)
But you're right, completely crystal clear sound has no place in thrash
