The GARDNERZ (Sweden) "It All Fades" CD EP review by Pest Webzine

Image

By Adrian

After a successful (in my opinion) debut album The Gardnerz are back this time with an EP that actually features 5 new tracks and a cover of Darkthrone's Transylvanian Hunger (weird choice for a Doom Death band) totaling a bit more than 35 minutes. their music could be described as a combination of mid to late '90's Anathema and Paradise Lost plus some influences from the mid '90's European Death Metal scene on slow or mid-tempo rhythms with loads of melody thrown inthere all the time. I like this band very much and I believe their potential is huge, they only need to find and add more hooks in their tracks for the next Doom Death masterpiece to be unleashed. The Darkthrone cover is also awesome played on acoustic guitars only supported by calm, jazzy, enchanting female vocals, nothing you'd expect. Thumbs up, can't wait for their next release!

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by http://totgehoert.blogspot.com

Image

By Nico

In DEAD AWAKEN we are dealing with a Swedish band that drives since 2002 up to mischief in the death metal underground. After only five (!) Demo Publications is now the first full length namely " Where Hope Turns Dripping Red before. " Are to hear it rough and varied Old School Death of offers everything a fan of the style estimates.
Between slow and rapid parts Doom blasts the listener, nine grenades blown around the ears have it in them. Not infrequently, one feels for many a part to VOMITORY or TORTURE DIVISION recalls, especially in terms of singing. But every now and then shimmer and non-Swedish bands like VADER and MALEVOLENT CREATION through because the riffing sounds in places like that. The riffing is generally pretty good and should become every fan of good old school Death purely run, even if so many reef arg "known" sounds.
In any case, the nine presented songs are varied enough to listen to the plate at a time and definitely you can not certify each disc of the recent death metal flood.
, the production is not bad, you would still definitely better can make. The drum is pushed into the background too much and the guitars a little muddy. Some criticism I have to practice on vocals. The Brüllwürfel on vocals poaching very monotonous grunts in deepest waters without putting real emphasis, but that's bitching at a high level.
Lyrically, there's no big surprises, Death standards as far as the eye looks. Although I'm still a mystery why the song number three strange song title 'Deutsches Afrika Corpse': bears (Editor's note but a great pun is). The textual content is not really refer to.
Anspieltipps is the saustark runtergeholzte 'Envy the Dead' and the equally fast but far from thrashy riffing 'State Of Corrosion'.
Overall, a very nice slice of old-school brigade. Since VOMITORY are unfortunately still cede this year, the band had the potential to fill this gap, provided you put in the future again ne shovel in terms of songwriting and it made ??the songs compelling. Hardcore fans of the genre should not expect a counter on it.

HYPERBOREAN (Sweden) "The Spirit of Warfare" CD review by http://www.metalcorefanzine.com

Image

By Chris Forbes

HYPERBOREAN/The Spirit Of Warfare (Abyss Records) Now this is more like it as this band
just whipped my neck into fury with their death metal style. Wicked riffs along with some
killer drum parts and vocals made this a winner. The riffs on here were completely awesome
as they totally crushed and didn't seem generic or awful at all. This is a band doing
something a bit different, but still having enough of a melody to them and also not
slowing down in the speed department neither. A really cool release of death metal that
is not of the norm.

BANE (Serbia) "Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness" DIGI CD review by http://www.mariosmetalmania.com

Image

By William Nijhof

Bane from Serbia was created in 2006 and brings you straight in face black/death metal filled with melody. They released their demo in 2007 and their first EP in 2010. This is their debut which is also released in 2010. This album starts with a dark and melodic intro and then becomes a journey of high speed blasts and typical black metal riffs combined with dark and atmospheric elements in it, the same goes for the acoustic and melodic parts in the music (its ravaging and it makes you listen to the entire album). If you think that that is all…no fucking way. As I already said that the music brings you in a kind of ecstasy because this is a journey that is brought to you in three chapters. The first 2 chapter starts with an instrumental and then the chaos comes, well done!! The third chapter is the more chill out chapter and sounds also great. The best parts are the vocals, low grunts combined with very well performed black scream (in my opinion). I Guess you can call this their answer too all the rock opera and other stuff hahaha. This album is filled with variety and the production of this album is over the top good. If you like bands like Cradle of Filth (old style) then you are going to enjoy this album.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by http://chaosvault.com

Image

By Pathologist

There are discs for which basically shred damage the pen. There are materials for which the vacuum try to be unnecessary comments. There are some items which basically can be described in one word. That word is: Sweden!

It's the fans of the scene should be enough for recommendations and try to be more in total does not make much sense. But as I started it behooves end. Today, just like yesterday and the day before yesterday and the day before yesterday before turning in my player debut album Dead Awaken titled "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" and I still do very well. The sounds of the country except I never get bored. Not for the first time, writes that the Swedish Death scene is my favorite. Although it is impossible to keep track of exactly what is there in the demos and EPkach it happens, I think I sczeszcie and virtually all the good things get in my paws. Yet somehow nacialem not dramatically so, there in the north actually decior held high as a motherfucker level. And it is in this case: Dead Awaken napierdala good fucking Death once again faster slower, but always lechtajacy my eardrums listening with the same pleasure.

I am of the opinion that the board should take as long as it is!

DIABOLICAL (Sweden) "Ars Vitae" CD review by http://www.blistering.com

Image

By: David E. Gehlke

One of those mid-level Swedish death metal bands that are routinely lost in the shuffle, Diabolical have a lot going for themselves, as their un-derivative sound (think Hypocrisy, minus the melody and alien stories) should have netted them more of a following at this point. Fifteen years into the death metal game, the band is putting their career on display with Ars Vitae, which is a smattering of new tracks, live tracks, and older cuts.

The album opens with the new “Sightless 6,” a song that brings to mind the mid-paced exploits of mid-90’s era Hypocrisy (like “Roswell 47”). Actually, this sort of simplistic, song-first style always scores well, and because there’s a noticeable degree of cohesion and dynamics embedded here, it’s an early winner. Same bodes for “Eye,” which is in virtually in the same ballpark thanks to a wide stance of bruising riffs and a blast-beat portion that heads right into a seismic atmospheric portion.

Live songs are always a tricky proposition, but Diabolical benefits from an excellent soundboard recording, giving the more classic Swedish DM flavor of “Under My Skin” and the blasting “Children of the Mushroom Cloud” an ample amount of juice. Closing out the album are a quartet of older jams, all of which suffer from inferior sound quality and fall into the crosshairs of the then-burgeoning Swedish death and black metal scene, something Diabolical were clearly fascinated with around the mid-90’s.

Given the strength of a lot of the new songs and all of the live cuts, it makes one wonder where Diabolical have been hiding all of this time. As one of the more underrated entities in Swedish death metal, moves like a compilation such as Ars Vitae are never a bad idea.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by http://www.rock-metal-essence.com

Image

By Joel Palaces

Do you know all the changes that had the death metal since the beginning of the nineties to today? I mean those who brought the genre to evolve technically and for the level of influence, leading to masterpieces such as Human or Elements and allowing the development of new veins within the genre. Behold, the Dead Awaken do not have a clue!

The Swedish band arrived at its debut after eleven years of honorable ranks in the underground, does nothing but show how well he has learned the lesson of the American monsters and making her own, so do not expect anything new if not a lethal mix of Death , Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse that will make you spend a pleasant half hour in the company of a band who honest bestows its own idols, from the production stops at the beginning of the 90s, if not late 80s, and passing through all the passages of the songs that will have heard of those who chews death metal for breakfast. short, a group that is honest honest music, but of which we do not recommend the purchase to anyone who is not an ardent fan of the genre. There are many other outputs far more impressive caliber even in recent times, let alone comparing this output to the times that inspired. Ultimately, listenable album, but far from inevitable.

HYPERBOREAN (Sweden) "The Spirit of Warfare" CD review by http://www.mariosmetalmania.com

Image

By Robin van Tilburg

Hyperborean is not a band that likes to rush things. They formed in 2000 and since then three demos have seen the light of day. “Of malice” in 2000, “Thorns scar her Soul' in 2003 and Prey”in 2005. A few years later, in the year 2009 to be exact, the band recorded the songs for what would be there debut album. That album is called 'The Spirit of Warfare' and has just been released through Abyss Records. When a band has been around for as long as Hyperborean has, you can't help but to grow expectations towards the material. Sadly, these expectations are only partly redeemed. The music, which holds up mostly between black and to a lesser degree death metal, does not exceed the mediocre a lot of the time. But there is still enough to enjoy the album as a whole. Take for example the opening track 'Channelling the Spirit of Warfare' with its catchy melodic riff and fast blast beat sections. Also worth mentioning is the lyrical theme, which mainly handles the period of World War I. Not a very original subject for a metal band, but Hyperborean has made it quite interesting. I think I'll give Hyperborean the benefit of the doubt. No matter for how long they've been around, they've managed to come up with an interesting debut album that justifies their existence. Check their MySpace if you dig fast, melodic Black Metal.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) Interview by The Core of Brutality

Image

By Core Brutality

1. Can i get a backstory on the band/ band biography?

In 1999 I signed a deal with Swedish label WAR-music for my other band Andromeda. I was friends with the boss Wez Wenedikter and we talked a lot on the phone about music and different projects that could be interesting to do. So I had recorded some demo-songs in a more death/thrashmetal-vein, Andromeda is progressive metal. He liked the death/thrash-stuff too and we signed a deal. Since Wez knew Johan Liiva from Arch Enemy's early days - they were signed to his previous label Wrong Again Rec. - he invited Liiva to meet with me and sing in this new Nonexist-project. Liiva had just left Arch Enemy so the timing was really good. I was thrilled at working with Liiva since I had listened to his earlier bands Carnage, Furbowl and Arch Enemy and thought and still think that he his one the great singers in extreme metal. Wez also called in Matte Modin from Defleshed/Dark Funeral to do the drums on our debutalbum "Deus Deceptor". We recorded the album at Abyss Studios in November 2001, without any rehearsals by the way, and the album was released half a year later or so. Then the band was put on hiatus since we were all busy with our other bands. In 2009 I started writing songs for the second album "From My Cold Dead Hands", but some material from the years 2003-2008 was also used. And now we are back in biz with a live-line up and everything!

2. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

Not so much messages as expression of our feeling and state of minds. And sometimes also telling our views on some the things that are going on in the world, injustice, war and so forth. The topics for our lyrics are mainly love, death, rage, betrayal, war, dark psychological issues - all that bad stuff that needs to be let out, which makes us feel better in the end. Also, the music is quite dark and intense - so the lyrics have to match that.

3. How have the gigs you guys been doing been?

Because we only recently assembled a full live line-up we've only done one so far- at the Scorched Tundra Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden December 2012. Went really good! Was great fun also!

4. What equipment do you guys use?

Ibanez and Scheckter guitars, Washburn and Fender basses, Rode and Shure-microphones, Peavey and MesaBoogie amps plus Digitech and Line6 guitar effects/preamps. I use a Mac with Logic Pro software.

5. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

Some of them are Slayer, Morbid Angel, Merciless, Metallica, Sepultura, Iron Maiden, Exhorder, Edge of Sanity, At the Gates, Pantera, Megadeth, Dan Swanö, Emperor, Dissection, Opeth, Dismember, Sisters of Mercy, Black Sabbath, Fields of the Nephilim and Mercyful Fate.

6. Do you remember your first show and what was it like?

See question nr. 3!

7. What made you guys decide to form a band?

We love metal, it's been in our veins since an early age and we wanna play music that we'd like to hear ourselves!

8. What is your opinion on sites posting your guys material and other bands material?

No opinion really, that's just the way it is with the internet. For good and bad.

9. Is there any bands that you guys enjoyed playing with more then the others?

Not yet!

10. How do you guys feel about the classifications in metal? like deathcore, metalcore and other subgenres and how some get a negative rep.

Pretty boring. But logical since that's the way the human mind works. We have to categorize the world around us to feel safe and comprehend it all. But in the long run genres and the discussion and the almost obsession around it becomes tedious and unimportant.

11. What song do you enjoy playing the most?

Hmm, perhaps "Presence Everlasting" or "Delirious Tongues".

12. Your biggest band moment?

Our first gig!

13. What is your opinion on the current state of metal?

I'm not really up to date with the current metal-scene. I was at an younger age but now I'm into all kinds of different stuff, not only metal. I'm more picky nowadays and there are so many shit metalbands out there. When I was younger I'd swallow anything that was heavy and fast... that doesn't hold any water anymore. In fact, some of the music I like the most nowadays, new music anyway, is not metal but more atmospheric, moody pop, electronica, goth rock and so forth.

15. How did you guys come up with your band name?

I studied philosophy at the university back in 2000-2001 and read about René Descartes' theories about the "Deus Deceptor" - the deceptive God. Don't remember much of it now but the concept of the deceptive God also included a state called "nonexist" - a sort of black void of inverted existence and emptiness. I thought it was a cool, original name and it sounded very metal!

16. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?

A new album every other year where the music continues to evolve and be of the highest quality! Hopefully a lot of live-shows too! We also wanna start making videos, some really dark, twisted shit preferably! Bye for now!

HAT (Norway) "The Demise of Mankind" CD review by Perplexed_Sjel

Image

By Perplexed_Sjel

H Is For Hate.

You’ve got to expect something with a really traditional backbone when you listen to an album called ‘The Demise of Mankind’ by a band called Hat from Norway, which translates to Hate in English. That is precisely what this album turns out to be. From the first bombastic song, entitled ‘Guds Skitne Avkom’, it is clearly evident that Hat are going to be a raging, unrelenting black metal band in the mould of the second wave. The bombastic production, the really intense, hateful vocals and the distorted riffs are all features and characteristics of bands who adopt the stylistic approach spearheaded by numerous Scandinavian bands in the early 1990’s. ‘The Demise of Mankind’ is a decent album with lots of catchy melodies, but it also very predictable. The idea behind this band has been done to death and you could even call Hat a by-the-numbers type of band, one who is simply retelling old stories which were created by certain inspirational forefathers like Burzum, Darkthrone and Emperor. The Scandinavian style is still alive, though its message has been lost by the modernisation of black metal in recent years.

Occasionally I do like to listen to something with a heart that beats with old blood, but it isn’t very often because you truly can predict and foresee how the sound will evolve before you’ve even experienced it. Hat do occasionally branch away from the old school into the modern world by, as on songs like ‘Eternal Damnation of the Soul’, using samples when the second wave would simply play on with their unrelenting style. I think, though I cannot be sure, the sample used on the aforementioned song might even be taken from a well known movie called The Green Mile. The sample does seem to relate to the nature of the song if this is the case because, as most people will know by now, The Green Mile is about a man on death row who’s about to receive his call to the chair where he is about to be executed for a heinous crime. The sample doesn’t exactly play a significant role in the song, only featuring towards the end, but it does signal a cohesion between the instrumentation, vocals and samples used sparingly on the album. It isn’t there for no reason, or without purpose. It does heed what the title of the song suggests.

Other than this quirky use of samples, the album is rather formulaic, but that isn’t to say it isn’t enjoyable. Take the ridiculously infectious ‘Schadenfreude’. This song generates some incredibly talented riffs with lots of melody to spare. The riffs, central to the album, are so damn catchy I don’t even notice my head begin to nod as I’m writing this. The melodies of the riffs are what makes this album an essential listen for anyone who loves the old school and even though Hat don’t take influence from any one band from the 1990’s in particular, they mesh them all together and take the best bits of each. However, in this day and age, a slightly under-produced quality to the production feels dated and stale at times. The production could do with being juiced up and spliced with a cleaner quality. The instrumentation is still audible and though the albums description suggests there is no bass player in the line-up, there is definitely bass used on the album. Its very low and ebbs menacingly beneath the guitars, only ever supporting it with backing and enhancing lines that don’t deviate much.

The vocals have a tendency to override each of the instrumental elements and the drums are somewhat lacking in quality, especially in terms of the cymbals and snare, but the melodies are just too catchy to not enjoy and tend to take away the focus on the elements which don’t spark as much delight. As I understand, Hat are probably a little more similar to Gorgoroth than any over band from Scandinavia and I’ve never really like them, yet I do like this album. There’s a raw energy to it that is likable and even though certain areas of the album, like the altering vocals (which can be occasionally hissed with very little impact) and under-produced feeling alongside the, at times, ineffective drumming, are a little more awkward feeling, the album does tend to flow rather nicely due to the high levels of fore fronted melody. ‘The Demise of Mankind’ is a glorious melody-filled affair, but quite predictable at times with its high tempo and expected second wave inspired characteristics.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by http://www.ladyobscure.com

Image

By Matt Benton

Although released on April Fool’s Day, there is nothing about Dead Awaken’s debut that jokes around – this is honest, brutal, straight-up death metal. Where Hope Turns Dripping Red is the début label-release ten years in the making from an established band hailing from the heartlands of the genre.

Sweden has a well-deserved reputation for producing technically tight and able bands, and Dead Awaken are no exception. Their musicianship and togetherness stood out from the very first listen, complementing and reinforcing what can only be described as a classic death metal sound.

Death metal above many other genres has a certain predictability to it – a consistency of vocals, insistent kick-drumming, and razor-honed abrasive guitar work. It is both to Dead Awaken’s credit and disadvantage that they play up to this expectation with a solid half-hour homage to an old-school sound.

In a fully-established and proliferating genre where every band is looking to experiment, in a way it is something of a relief to hear a band who are unafraid of thrashing out 30 minutes of unrelenting death. This album is nothing special or innovative, certainly nothing to write home about, but in itself this is not necessarily a bad thing. Clocking in at 34 minutes, Where Hope Turns Dripping Red is the perfect length, a healthy and refreshing dose of brutality. Any longer and ‘simple’ would risk becoming ‘repetitive’.

That said, even limited to such a short length, the songs on Where Hope Turns Dripping Red risking blending into one single sound. This is most true of the first two tracks, Carnivore and Kingdom of Damnation – it is only with Deutsches Afrika Corpse that the songwriting opens up, with some well-needed breakdowns and some hint of melody.

One of the strongest tracks and indeed the song which stood out at first listen is the chuggier Rocket Symphony. This and the following Mudhell are two of the most experimental tracks, and inject some vitalising variety. Especially effective is the double-time riff in the middle of Rocket Symphony and the militaristic march in Mudhell, which both serve to subtly alter the unrelenting pace of the album.

The best moments on Where Hope Turns Dripping Red, then, are where the face-melting death metal attitude and sound remains uncorrupted, but with enough interest and difference to warrant repeated listening. Happily the record only improves as it continues – the final three tracks are probably the most successful in combining subtle melodic moments with the old-school in-your-face death sound.

Whilst I commend and would defend Dead Awaken’s uncompromising straight-up attitude, on the whole the record could benefit from some greater variety, of both pace and key. Even another song of the ilk of Rocket Symphony would greatly add to the album. Every album is centred on the struggle of consistency versus variety of sound, and Dead Awaken perhaps try too hard at maintaining a consistent classic brutality, at the expense of difference. That said, tipping this balance matters less when the album passes by so quickly.

As I’ve written above, Where Hope Turns Dripping Red is by no means an outstanding album, but it is certainly a solid effort, which works because it doesn’t try to do too much, not in terms of length or thinking outside the generic box. If you’re into your classic death metal, then this could be worth a listen, no joke.

CHAOSSWORN (Sweden) "Chalice of Black Flames" CD EP review by http://www.mylastchapter.net

Image

By Phuling

Chaossworn - Chalice of black flames

I remember to have at least heard of Cryptic Death, but I’m not entirely sure if I actually ever heard anything by them. But last year they changed name to Chaossworn, and this is the act’s debut release since. On beforehand I was promised by the accompanying flyer that it’d be black/death metal in the Swedish vein for fans of Dissection, Opeth and old Katatonia. Since all three bands have quite a varied sound I didn’t know what to expect, but I definitely didn’t expect it to be this melodic.

As Crowned and winged begets the EP I’m struck by very melodic riffing, with a melody and rhythm that I suppose can be attested to a combined inspiration by the latter two acts previously mentioned. But overall I find the opening track a tad mundane and uninspiring. Not for the lack of talent, but for the lack of brutality and aggression. It’s a slow to mid-paced tune, which is all fine and dandy, but doesn’t really pack a punch or provide anything all that interesting more than a few breaks that contain some wicked drum play. It’s not until Bringer of storms takes over and the blasting begins that I can fully appreciate their sound. The faster pace and riffing that focus more on sleek and malevolent melody, in turn creating a much more aggressive and fierce atmosphere, really does pack a punch. It feels a bit like mixing Dissection’s older material (meaning don’t take note of what they did after the reunion) with a bit of Lord Belial, and maybe even a dash of Watain. It is definitely melodic, but with quite a keen sense of what’s catchy and adds energy to the music. The ending track, which also happens to be the title track, is another slower one, where the opening riffing instantly reminds me of Dark Funeral. So it’s safe to say Chaossworn undoubtedly dabble with metal of the Swedish variant.

The production’s very clean, regards of herr Dan Swanö, but in my humble opinion a bit too clean. It’s by no doubt heavy and powerful, but with the very melodic riffing it becomes a wee bit too melodic on occasion. Vocally it’s utterly powerful, and I can’t help but love Anton’s ability to linger in between harsh, classic black metal shrieks and a husky, deep growl. He moves seamlessly in between styles, and it sounds oh-so-magnificent. More speed is pretty much all I could ask for, ‘cause they’ve got the writing skill, performance and technicality down.

ANGREPP (Sweden) "Warfare" DIGI CD review by doomknocker

Image

By doomknocker

Not bad, not bad at all.

No matter what year it is, no matter what era, there will always be some band fascinated with war. I guess it’s an easy enough subject for an up-and-coming metal act…it sorta writes itself, leaving you to concentrate on that ever-so-elusive image treatment. It seems to have worked well with SODOM, MEGADETH, WAR, ZYKLON-B, MARDUK, and multiple others who felt the need to make some sort of statement about the most abhorrent thing mankind can subject itself to, and chances are if left unchecked, countless future acts will leech onto this concept when Satan, paganism, and personal struggles become too done to death (heh…ironic…)

And with that said, we have ANGREPP…

Upon first listen, there seems that this group has that ingredient missing from other groups of their ilk…anger. Rage against the dying of the light. And pretty nifty song-writing. There exists a punkish bitterness in the musicianship, something the likes of WARBRINGER can’t seem to fathom, much less emulate. That’s also what made the earlier mentioned acts as memorable and fantastic as they were. And it doesn’t hurt to come off as a cavalcade of endless riffs, with one after another cascading onto the listener like so much carpet-bombing. There’s all sorts of good things to take in for the listener who occasionally wants pure annihilation with no intrinsic messages and underlying themes outside of the wicked subject matter that seems to be the order of the day, and it’s in plentiful supplies in ANGREPP’s latest. That upbeat punk-like energy explodes with the violence of the group’s obviously competent thrash metal central musical theme from a group of pissed-the-fuck-off noise-mongers who want to just blast their evil hearts out, which is done so with a twinge of professionalism, switching gears time and again from the intense to the groovy in a natural way, leaving much to enjoy and not a whole lot to discredit. Though I guess if any negative aspects exist, it comes from some of the song-lengths…a few of the tracks seem longer than they need to be, it seems, and would’ve been more deathly at shorter lengths (maybe around 1-2 minutes of mayhem would’ve been the way to go), though that can be neither here nor there in the long run. After all, the virulent likes of “Five Horned Formation”, “Warfare” and “Rape, Kill, Rock ‘n Roll” have enough good ideas present to make up for what limitations are there.

As it stands “Warfare” is a fine example of angry, war-faring metal the likes of which haven’t been seen or heard in quite some time. While maybe not on par with the older and more well-to-do acts out there, but for your money you could much worse. Trust me and enjoy.

FESTER (Norway) "Silence" Remastered DIGI CD review by http://metal.de

Image

By Eckart

The second CD by the Norwegian band SOLID is a chain of tragic events connected, which finally resulted in the end the band shortly after the release of "Silence" in 1994, the band broke up and her label Lethal Records disappeared some time after-sang and quietly from the scene. 1999, wanted to know the Norwegians again and had soon after the Swedish label No Fashion a new record deal in the bag, but shortly after the re-release of "Silence" died suddenly bassist Jørgen Skjolden of a drug overdose, and festivals were once more history - this time probably forever.
It had "Silence" had always deserved more attention than the album was ultimately refused. Musically, originally in Black Metal at home, it was FIXED to find their own way to audible sound structures. There is a loose relationship to TIAMAT to "Clouds" times: Both bands knew how to incorporate (dark) in their emotions clearly culture located in the Metal music, although the emotions were on "Silence"but other than to "Clouds" : loneliness, despair, hatred. Unlike Sweden, however, SOLID waived entirely on keyboards and filled the rooms with reefs be guitar runs. Very nice to be in the "frustration" and "The Maze" listen and empathize. The riffing is even partially correct thrashy, but less in the sense of the word enshrined in the "threshing", but more like a chipper riffs River, which sounds a harsh hand, on the other hand, very melodic. A hallmark of "Silence" is the whispering and evocative song that perfectly fits the austere and cold atmosphere of the songs, like the final "Når Noen Dor ..." - the heart stopped, all life is breathed out ...
And "Når Noen Dor ..." - Although all the songs form a river, the introductory "Dream, " "Silent Is The Raven, " "In My World Of Thoughts Elisabeta" are particularly emphasized. These tracks are simply the essence of SOLID.
The re-release comes up with a different layout than the original from 1994 and the re-release of 1999, and there are liner notes to each song. Track Listing and mix again follow the original now, after the no-Fashion-Release went there other ways and provided some tracks with samples. As a bonus, there is the stretched to more than eight minutes live version of the demo song "Persecution" from 1991, a song that is supplied according to an announcement thrash song and not significantly from the nine regular songs on "Silence"is different. Who wants to know is where the journey began, the track has the absolute value to collectors. And who wants to know where the journey leads to: FIXED have recently re-formed under the leadership of Bjørn "Tiger" Mathisen (with Jontho of RAGNAROK and Jon Bakker of KAMPFAR) to record a new album. What are we to think of it, will tell.

HYPERBOREAN (Sweden) "The Spirit of Warfare" CD review by http://wickedchannel.com

Image

By Mike

Hyperborean is a melodic black metal band hailing from Sweden and signed to Abyss Records. The Spirit Of Warfare is their debut full-length release although they have been together since 2000 and have released three demos.

I have never really been a fan of melodic black metal because black metal is more of a predefined niche and I like my black metal to remain true to black metal roots. I know, I know, I am a nitpicker. Outside of me being anal about black metal, I will say that I can get behine Hyperborean’s The Spirit of Warfare a little. The riffs are abundant and there is a lot of homage being paid to black metal classics on this release. They are pretty technical and make a nice mixture of the technical elements within the classic black metal riffs. Some riffs are even thrash metal-style riffs. With all of these subgenres of metal mixed together, you would expect to hear a bunch of chaos within each song, but while tempo and riff changes are all over the place on most of the songs, at no point, did the music ever sound chaotic to me.

My favorite track on the album right now is the 7 minute track Weapon Making, which is the second track on the album. The tempo changes are all over the place, but maintains a nice song structure for the entire 7 minute length. The riffs are running rampart on this one and the vocals are pretty solid as well. Another standout would be The Last Stand of Leonidas And the Battle of Thermopylae. Almost 10 minutes in length, it is very epic in style and works well. While the title is quite a mouthful, the song is very solid and is another song which is all over the place, but still contained nicely.

1. Channelling The Spirit Of Warfare (7:12)
2. Weapon Mankind (7:03)
3. Viper (7:10)
4. The Last Stand Of Leonidas And The Battle Of Thermopylae (9:54)
5. A New Sun Rises (5:39)
6. Killing Grounds (4:21)
7. The Sick Man Of Europe (6:33)

Hyperborean was formed in August of 2000 with the intention of playing melodic extreme metal. We recorded two demos Of Malice and Thorns Scar her Soul with basically the same line-up and they were well received by the underground media and some labels. After the early demos our line-up changed, and with so did our sound when Andreas joined the band. The music took a darker and more aggressive path . A third demo, Prey, was made in 2005 and after that the band was put on hold for a few years. We where still writing material during this time and those songs became the foundation for
The Spirit of Warfare, which we recorded in August of 2009. And now, with the help of Abyss records we are ready to release it upon the world.

NOCTIS IMPERIUM (Venezuela) "Nihil" CD EP review by http://www.extreminal.com

Image

By Cenk A.

Actually, you can discover great bands from these countries. Before I took a look at the band's info, I was thinking how good is the drummer. I was suprised when I saw Nicholas Barker on the info. It is suprising that a Venezuelan band worked with Barker...

The album isn't so good in the name of black metal, but it is very good in the name of music. This is a technical and very fast album. Actually, in our days, there are some trends getting more popular and one of those is old-school influented(thrash/punk/rock'n roll) black metal, and death metal / tecnical death metal influented blackened death metal.

Album is very successful, it hits the audience with the technical, speedy and impressive instrument abilities... There are 2 live songs in the album too. They recorded it so good that I thought those were from the studio too. Maze of Torment (Morbid Angel) cover is played very good too. But I think that they need to think about their vocalist, that seems worse than their quality.

At last, I congratulate Abyss Records, they are rising on the scene, and presented good bands to the audience.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by Goatsden

Image

By Goatsden

Gutteral and grim death metal with gonads

After more than a decade of demos, Sweden's Dead Awaken unleash their debut full-length, and it's a death metal beast all the way. Certainly, this duo know how to punish their instruments, as it's a tight and precise attack. "Kingdom Of Damnation" is particularly effective and memorable, with huge riffs and the requisite vomited vocals. "Mudhell" is another crusher, and slows it all down to an almost militaristic yet metallic crawl.

All of this is superbly produced, with a thickness and good mid-range alongside a deep and gutteral low-end. Dead Awaken take a proven, even stereotyped genre and present it with more finesse than most, varying tempos and switching up their game from track to track. "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" is a must-hear for fans of classic death metal.

MAAX (U.S.) "Unholy Rock & Roll" DIGI CD review by The Ringmaster Review

Image

By RingMaster

Whilst listening to the new album from Indianapolis blackened thrashers Maax the image of a musical pentagram with them in the middle as a focal point drawing on five distinct flavours plays in the head. With Unholy Rock N Roll the band even more so than before suck the flavours from rock ‘n’ roll, black metal, thrash, punk and classic rock to forge their own relatively unique sound. As the tracks unveil the band acts as a link between classic rock and the likes of AC/DC, punk sounds like Wednesday 13, the trash energy of a Kvelertak, the rock power of a Motorhead or even Status Quo, and the blackness of Venom. The resulting sound is one that works in varying degrees but with constant frequency leaves a smile on the face and adds fun to the day’s energy.
Unholy Rock N Roll released via Abyss Records is the follow up to the band’s Six Pack Witchcraft EP and comes with a definite thrashier flavour especially when compared to their debut album of 2009; Dawnbringer which was a colder black metal toned release. It shows a strong and definite evolution in sound and direction from the bands formation in 2006 and one that is very welcome, the band firing with more energy and accuracy with this spread of influences and ideas. The album was written and recorded with new addition Jeremy Starkey (Necrophagous) on bass joining founder members guitarist Kyle Kreider and drummer Jeff Brown (since replaced by Dave Dalton (Legion, Ratzkrieg, SoSayeth)) plus vocalist Tim Green and guitarist Brett Schlagel. The album shows arguably an even steadier and more purposeful feel from this line-up than before, a power that is impossible not to be dragged along by even if the flavours at times do not always quite hit the mark.
The consistency across the release is strong but a few songs lift the album from a good listen into one that instigates a more regular attention. The title track has an infectious anthemic appeal that means it is hard not to punch they air as its gang shouted chorus calls out whilst ‘Maax’ with all the subtlety and insistency of a red hot poker laced with punk venom stands firmly in front of the face and unleashing some alcohol loaded intensity. Alongside the best track on show ‘Black Thrash ‘Em All’, the trio make Unholy Rock N Roll worth more than a glance. This track leaps into the ear with striking guitars and black edginess that border on lechery, with dirty growls and infectious rhythms.
To be honest there is not one song that lingers after running its course though this is not to say they are less than satisfying but though they admirably do not go for obvious hooks and tricks the songs are missing that spark and addictiveness to make one return often. Unholy Rock N Roll is a good solid release but there is the question of it being too varied and up against other more genre dedicated and sterner intense albums elsewhere it will get lost in the metal ethers, hopefully not as it does entertain and bring good sounds and attitude.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" CD review by http://www.themidlandsrocks.com

Image

By Jason Guest

The debut full length from Sweden’s Dead Awaken has been a long time coming. Together since 2002, they released a demo every year up until 2008 (but nothing on 2007) and then stopped. Why so long to release their debut? With line-up changes aplenty, mainstay Jörgen Kristensen has no doubt been working hard to find a band he’s content with, or at least a drummer, because the only other musician on this release is Mats Blyckert who’s been with the band since 2007. But despite whatever challenges Kristensen has faced in all that time, Where Hope Turns Dripping Red is worth the wait.

With four of the nine tracks taken from earlier demos – ‘Mudhell’ from 2006 demo Scar Graced Earth, and ‘Deutsches Afrika Corpse’, ‘Venom of the Population’ and ‘State of Corrosion’ from 2008 demo The Noble Art of Agitation – Kristensen made a wise decision to include the ones that he did. In comparison with the newer material, it fits well and you can hear how the band has developed their sound. Where ‘Mudhell’ is a blast of savage riffs peppered with the occasional pinch harmonic, deathly groove, and multi-layered discordance, ‘Deutsches Afrika Corpse’ adds a hint of technical death metal to the head-down grunt, ‘Venom of the Population’ lets the bass do most of the work, and ‘State of Corrosion’ closes the album with Kristensen and Blyckert focusing their energies into tight grooves and mosh pit-inducing riffs. With their sound crystallised, the rest of the tracks show how the band have developed, their technical vehemence, barbed savagery, and their unity tightly focussed into an unremitting and impressive death metal debut. This may not be innovative but it’s a relentless and violent piece of work laced with hostility that deserves to get the band the attention that being signed should allow them. It’s been a long time coming.

SEPTEKH (Sweden) "Apollonian Eyes" CD EP review by http://www.mondometalwebzine.com

Image

By Marco

The Septekh born in Sweden in October 2008, the group was formed by David Wikström on guitar, Patrik Ström on bass, drums and Staffan Persson Nils Meseke on vocals.
The band offers a thrash / death metal with veins blackeggianti. Have behind them a demo tape in 2009 called, well, "Demo 2009", and 3 EP: "Not Quite What I Had in Mind" (2009), "The Seth Avalanche" (2012) and " Apollonian Eyes "(2013). The track that opens this last work of the band is also the one that gives its name to the disc: " Apollonian Eyes , "a very crude form of thrash-death that can bring to mind a black metal which at times touches depressive lyrics. " Burn It to the Ground "with the piece of battery that slowly increases in volume, the overall structure of the piece reminiscent of Motörhead more thrasheggianti and probably owned by some entity malignant biblical. 's pro-rhythmic thrash continue with the putrid " Cursing the Skies "which, like the previous tracks, seems to be closer to raw black death metal that the real, thanks to the vocal style of Nils. The last song is " Vlad Tepes "which closes the album with a composition relatively quiet compared to the canons of the above. A job that, given the age of the group as a whole is not surprising nor leave disappointed; their categorization is the thing that really leaves more perplexing because turn out to be much closer to a black metal school Norwegian / Swedish, with influences from Motörhead and Venom, which in a group thrash / death real. 'd Suit flanked by groups such as 1349 and Carpathian Forest.

BANE (Serbia) "Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness" DIGI CD review by Dave's Underground Laboratory

Image

By Dave Schalek

Hot on the heels of my foray into the mediocrity of Balfor comes Chaos, Darkness, And Emptiness, a new album from Bane, a Serbian act also straddling the line between death and black metal with melodic and symphonic overtones. In fact, so similar to Balfor are Bane, that the review above very nearly also applies to Bane. It's almost as if two mediocre students insisted on copying each others' homework right before entering the laboratory. That's a no-no.
OK, all facetiousness aside, Bane certainly have the formula of melodic/symphonic blackened death metal down pat with plenty of shredding guitars, lots of blasts that periodically segue into slower, more progressively oriented passages, Shagrath-esque vocals, an over produced sound, etc, etc. Like Balfor, though, Bane suffer from mediocre, unmemorable songwriting and a totally by the numbers formulaic approach. Truth be told, however, Bane do have a bit more of feeling and emotion in their approach, and are periodically able to rise above the mediocrity and show flashes of potential, if not brilliance.

HYPERBOREAN (Sweden) "The Spirit of Warfare" CD review by http://www.minacious.org

Image

By Mordant

This is the debut album from Swedish Black Metal band Hyperborean, which is a fitting name since Sweden is the true Hyperborea. “ The Spirit of Warfare” contains seven tracks of melodic Black Metal with a few Death metal hints here and there. I can detect traces of both the more melodic side of the early to mid-nineties Norwegian Black Metal scene as well as its Swedish counterpart. An interesting mixture, not unheard of although. But overall this is well crafted, some really nice guitar work, and with a suitably dark atmosphere. Nothing mind blowing, but give them a listen.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) Interview by From Beyond Metal Fanzine

Image

By Gilbert V

With a long history of demos edited over something over a decade of training, Dead Awaken finally bet on the long duration, an album quite atypical of what we have become accustomed normamente esuchar of their home country, Sweden. Their debut album is titled "Where Hope Turns Dripping Red" the American label Abyss Records gambled on them. After doing things strictly for these cases we contacted Jörgen Kristensen who plays leader and spokesman, despite being on vacation (do not ask where), and being somewhat removed from cybernetics, the internet call her pc or laptop, we responded very briefly and professionally for From Beyond Metal Fanazine.

FBM: What motivated you to record the album?

About time! We have lots of demos released and it was time to do things correctly.

FBM: Can you tell us the story of how this album originated?

Most of the songs were made. But since they had not shown interest in stamps our demos, we realized we'd just record the album and we will consider offers for a deal from there. Our colleague Dennis had told us he wanted to record the album, so we went for it.

FBM: Are you satisfied with the shape and outcome of the cd?

Of course. We really had to work hard to éste.Sobre all because we have decided to part with Andreas, our former bassist, during grabación.Tuve you instantly grow a little and learn to play bass.

FBM: So how do you describe your music?

Aggressive Death Metal, influenced mainly by the U.S. Death metal.Realmente not go for the typical Swedish sound and Vomitory is one of the few Swedish bands that I can say that really influenced me, personally.

FBM: As a band, what are your collective influences?

A drive. Since we are in our 40, which has been a long road and we heard a lot of bands along the camino.Suffocation, Immolation, Vomitory, Dark Angel, Bolt Thrower, Motörhead, Slayer, Overkill, Black Sabbath, the old Death , Morbid Angel & Pestilence.

FBM: They have recorded a lot of demos before releasing the LP, why so long to decide to record with Abyss Records?

Like I mentioned before, no one showed interest in nosotros. Somos a Swedish band, which is not really interested in it sounds sueco. Eso probably confuse etiquetas. Como I contacted Dan & Abyss, I realized how right are for nosotros. Dan Abyss is a great guy and works hard for their bands.

FBM: When originally started Dead Awaken?, What was their vision of the band?

The band had been in business for a couple of months ago, when I was then incorporé.En thrash death metal, with a strict theme the guerra.Ahora is less thrash and more death.

FBM: There seems to be a lot of incredibly talented metal bands coming from Sweden, what is your secret?

Hay.Sinceramente Certainly, I can not say. Did the weather, perhaps? (Nice, warm summers and long, cold winters dark) The fact that we have lived in peace for a couple hundred years? Our Viking ancestry? You tell me. (Laughter. ..)

FBM: So are preparing for the promotion of this album, do you think it will go better than last time?

Since it is our debut album, hope so! Hahaha ...

FBM: Farewell and finalesGracias words for the interview!

Keep in the extreme metal!

The GARDNERZ (Sweden) "It All Fades" CD EP review by Brutiful Metal Radio

Image

By Paul Jackson

A follow up to their full length album "The System of Nature", "It All Fades EP" introduces a new drummer into the fold with the usual suspects from System. It's a solid effort from these South Norwegians second release on Abyss Records. Really marketed as Doom but they really transcend all things heavy. Doomy yes, but also haunting and their twin guitar attack is textbook Priest. No frills balls to the wall Death Metal with a slow beat and forays into differing vocal styles. Its different, it works and these guys should be all over the states touring.

At first opening The Gardnerz "Melatonin" harkens back to a straight up four piece sonata of ingenuity in metal making. A clean guitar diddle opens the number with interpolating crisp tones, then a solid groove comes in with a heavy handed drumbeat. Like Thor himself was beating the shit out of some skins Vedrans first foray with the Gardnerz is undisputed. I would be remiss if i didn't mention the underlying ping ponging bass. We have all heard it before, but these dudes make the shit original. They really take the time and interleave a masterpiece of original metal. The dual vocals at the end on "Melatonin" sound like vintage Celtic, if not as masterful, at least more hauntingly. No verse chorus verse here...just straight up DOOM!

"Don't Look Back" is what was so great about 90's death metal, equal parts Malevolent Creation and Morbid Angel with slightly slower time signatures and even sludgy-er breakdowns, this is what I miss about the scene. Everyone got so fucking fast and learned how to sweep solo and do a blast beat that a black guy from New Year invented (a la Suffocation) but these dudes bring the shit back to the basics with, as the lyrics suggest, an eye for an eye approach to brutality. You get as much out of this EP as you put in. Clocking in at 35 minutes its damn near a full album. Only difference you get more bang for your buck and their chops abound as much their songwriting. "Don't Look Back" is a seven plus minute opus of sheer doom with interludes of melody.

DEAD AWAKEN (Sweden) Interview by http://www.ladyobscure.com

Image

By Nem Nol

Bio: Alright, Dead awaken started out as a bunch of Young guys, playing the Music they loved. At the time it was thrashy Death metal, with a strict war theme. I joined the band after a few months. A few years later, the band consists of me (Jörgen Kristensen, guitar and vocals, also recorded the bass on the album) and Drummer Mats Blückert. We’ve known each other for a looong time, both as friends and musically. We were in the same band for 10 years ’89-’99, so we know each other’s musical capacity. We’ve got a couple of session bass players that we hire for gigs. Dead Awaken started out in the spring of 2002.

The members were Andreas “Adde” Backström on guitars, Joakim Edlund on drums, Jonas Lindberg on guitars and Andreas Morén on vocals. The band was missing a bass player, but those army boots were soon filled by former ABHOTH guitarist/vocalist Jörgen Kristensen. Some gigs were played as a 5-piece and a demo was recorded, before there was time for a change.

Jörgen switched to his main instrument(s)- Guitar & vocals. Jonas had to leave the band, on good terms. Andreas Morén switched to bass and backup vocals. We kept gigging and entered the Gothenburg Deathfest bill, in 2005. On the bill were, among others Aborted and Insision. Soon after this show Adde decided to step out, due to a lack of interest in the genre. A few shows were played as a 3 piece, before adding guitarist Attila Hollsén to the line-up.

Only a couple of gigs were played with this line up, before original drummer Joakim left. Without a drummer, the band was in state of limbo for a few months. In early 2007 Jörgen’s old bandmate Mats “Masse” Blückert entered Dead Awaken and intense rehearsing began.

May 2007 the band went back onstage at local Festival Mälarrocken, with killer acts like Behemoth. Unfortunately this ended up being the last show with Attila, who left for personal reasons. A couple of guitarists were auditioned, before deciding that enough damage was done as a 3-piece. Not letting the change stop the tank, we went straight back into the trench and kept gigging. A few shows were done with Vomitory, before entering the studio, to record the debut album. During the recording, in the fall of 2010, the band decided to part ways with long term bass player Andreas. He wanted to focus on his other band Bleeding utopia.

Not intending to let this slow us down, Jörgen did all the guitar, bass and vocals in the studio. After all the studiowork was done, a deal was secured with Abyss records. Continuing as a 3-piece with session bass players Magnus Wall / Jonas Stålhammar (Both former ABHOTH members), the road was hit again, with labelmates Entrench. After a number of well recieved demo’s, it’s time to declare war upon the world, with the debut album “Where hope turns dripping red”

Genre: I didn’t choose this genre. It chose me, almost 25 years ago. It’s not a job, it’s not my hobby. It’s my Life, something I can’t live without.

Evolution of the initial musical and thematic elements: For some of us, the Music just is there. The lyric themes were natural, as everyone that’s ever been in a band has had a fascination for World War 2.

Ideas about the album: We’re happy with it. Anyone who’s ever released a demo/ full length album can tell you that there will Always be parts that you could have done better, or differently.

Reception: It’s been great! Some people think we could be faster or more technical, breakdown this, old school that, bla bla bla. We play the kind of Death metal that we like ourselves. To us, Death metal is about honesty. So, playing a type of Death metal because it happens to be popular at the moment, is just bullshit. Just playing faster or more technical doesn’t automatically make it better or more brutal. The term breakdown has never been a part of my Death metal vocabulary. We’ve been doing this for 25 years and if people like it, great!

Preference; live or studio: I love both! But, the thrill of a good show is hard to match.

Next step; live or studio: We hope to get out on the road in the future. Got a few things coming up, but as nothing is confirmed, there’s no point in telling.

Future plans: I can see two 40 year old Death metal musicians Hammering things out for a long time to come. Got more songs written, which will become album #2. Looking forward to that!

Lyrics, themes and concepts: We’ve been doing the war thing for quite some time. We might be doing some of it in the future, but a couple of our fave bands are already doing it. (Hey, we already have one Bolt Thrower!) Getting more in the direction of the dark sides of the human minds. Hard to tell, each song is a different beast.

Composers: We write the songs together and I write all the lyrics.

Inspirations: Too many to mention! Pink Floyd, Motörhead, Suffocation, Napalm Death, Vomitory, Death, Pestilence, Dark Angel, Slayer, Bolt Thrower, Immolation, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Overkill, just to mention a few.

Preference; cater to the audience or music for its own sake: Of course we care what the crowd thinks, but we’re in this because we love it.

Greatest Accomplishment: Starting one of the earlier Swedish Death Metal bands (Abhoth) was cool. Playing with some of our fave bands is really cool. Releasing the album, of course.

Anything else? Keep our metal extreme! Check out our album and preferably buy it!

SEPTEKH (Sweden) "Apollonian Eyes" CD EP review by Metal!

Image

By Chief Rebel Angel

Tomorrow I start working.
Yeah, or, it depends on when you read this, but Monday starts anyway gravity.
There seems to be full speed right after a good leave, and a nice visit to schtaan this weekend.
then fit the well especially good with a little fitting death thrash related?
Exactly.

Became extra happy when I could pick up Septekh and their EP "Apollonian Eyes" at the last visit on Sound Pollution.
Septekh is from the southern parts of Stockholm County, and I've had a little sneak track on them: http://metalyze.blogspot.se/2009/10/septekh.html when guitarist David Wikstrom is closely related to type all my brother's colleagues.
Has pushed some of them before, but did not know there was material at the time.
fact that it is published by the American Abyss Records did the the whole thing into a double bonus when perhaps occasionally stuff for guys. Hope it!

Reach.
There is a fantastic video for the song "Burn It To The Ground" to suit themselves particularly well when starting work, I think.
Flamethrower as you can see is reportedly a hemmabygge ...!

Brilliant hobby piece. Playing both undead and living in the same video is genius, I think.
entire EP was on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/album/apolloni ... 42443?ls=1
Lets burn!

FESTER (Norway) "Winter of Sin" DIGI CD review by http://metal-revolution.com

Image

By Bato

Originally released in 1992, Winter Of Sun is a classic album by one of the pioneers in blending black and death metal, Fester. Fester was originally called Heroic Conduct; so you may have came across them before.

Almost two decades since its initial release Winter Of Sun has been re-released for the first time by Abyss Records. They’ve done a whole new artwork, printed line notes for each song, stories from the past, and a special live bonus track of a song that was originally only found on the studio version of the band’s first demo. The song is called “When Darkness Confirms – Live ‘91” which serves both as a nice introduction to the band, but also as a nice album closer.

On Winter Of Sun this Norwegian institution is still blending death & black metal, but with some major doomy influences. Tempo varies a great deal and the whole atmosphere ranges from the monotonous and depressive one to more appealing and catchy. Obviously the sound quality is not the best one, but again for obscure death/doom/Black metal and its fanatic followers, it is just a perfect old-school release. Lyrical themes are mainly about winter, occultism, anti-Christianity and similar themes – now you’ve been warned.

Fester is actually currently in studio recording their 3rd studio album, 17 years after the last one, and I’m quite exited to see if they can still create blasphemous and obscure aggressive music like back in days. However, I see no particular reason for the re-release of this cult vinyl release, and only true old-school metal lovers will find it interesting. If you happen to be one of them, take a look at their website first: http://www.myspace.com/festernorway

Rating: 70/100
