Hi, my brother and I are beginning into black metal (guitar) and I wanted to know what can we play? Something not too hard, something we can play with 2 guitars. We have already tried some Darkthrone and Ulver: not too hard and sounds good. But maybe there are other bands easy to play? Or some musics?

I would also some advices about what effect to use. I play on a Jackson Rhoads and an amp Marshal and I have a multi effect pedal: http://www.digitech.com/en-US/products/rp155

What distortion is best for some old black metal sound?

Arbiter® Fuzz Face
Boss® DS-1 Distortion
Boss® MT-2 Metal Zone®
DOD® 250 Overdrive/Preamp
DOD® Gonkulator Ring Modulator
DigiTech® Grunge®
Electro-Harmonix® Big Muff Pi®
Ibanez® TS-808 Tube Screamer™
Ibanez® TS-9 Tube Screamer™
ProCo Rat™

Do I need some reverb?
Here the reverb effects I have on my pedal:

EMT® 240 Plate Reverb
Fender® Twin Spring Reverb
Lexicon® Ambience
Lexicon® Hall
Lexicon® Room
Lexicon® Studio

Any advice for EQ?

Thanks

metal zone will give you some EQ options and is a pretty standard analog pedal for a high gain distortion. Reverb is also useful, but there's a difference between a little reverb and too much, but depends on what you're going for.

Boss GE series seems to be a standard analog EQ pedal, mixed with the metal zones eq and the amps eq you can probably play with them all until you get exactly the ton you're looking for.

I'm still looking for some nice songs to play with 2 guitars, so if anyone has an idea, I'll take it

Windir, Marduk, Klabautamann, Primordial; try any of the older songs of those, they shouldn't be too hard to play.

Early Darkthrone is ridiculously easy. So is classic Mayhem. Early Rotting Christ is easy AND fun. Actually, most classic bm is pretty easy - some of it is so primitive that playing it bores the shit out of me.
