I made a 31 minute improv song on drums and two guitar tracks to commemorate the recent end of the world. I dare you to listen to the whole thing...

well I gave it a hot minute, improv doesn't really mean it doesn't have to follow along to anything at all. And I get what you were going for be it more centered in a free jazz approach.. it just really doesn't sound like it came together to me. basically I got bored rather quickly when it seemed like you weren't listening to any track whatsoever when recording the next. (more so from the guitars since I figured you did drums first at whim) Wouldn't mind if you attempted to do more like this that I guess followed and resolved a bit better while still being all over the place.

overall to me it sounded like it was closer to the tuning up fuck off track that Eyes Upon Separation did on their only full length than something like Derek Bailey or Trio Convulsant or Nihilist Spasm Band

Yeah, it has moments where it comes together, but it's mostly random "anti-music". Most of my stuff is composed (like this), and I do more song-y improv stuff with friends (like this), but this stuff was supposed to be "anything goes" and it's the most fun to play, I think. Thanks for listening.

Oh I've heard your composed stuff and seen some of your covers. And that like that song you linked I liked cause it reminds me of bands like By the End of Tonight, early the Rescue and such. So I know you have talent. Wasn't trying to be a dick if came off as such.

Nah that's cool, I didn't realize you were already familiar. Next time I'll try a more coherent improv session. :)

Hell I like the one you did with your friends.

and it doesn't have to be overtly coherent I guess I like it when it's more compact when I listen to this type of stuff.
