Hello people out there, i have a little problem here... i have been playing bass guitar for over a 5 years but mostly for thrash, heavy and death metal bands and i have never had any problem ... but now i'm trying to play in a black metal band and i can't recognize which fret do i have to play because the guitarist plays a very weird chords and he does'nt knows any musical theory to explain me which note to play ... so i was wondering if anyone knows something about that chords

My advice would be to sing/hum along to the guitar and whatever note you find yourself humming for each chord, play that. OR, what I like to do, take all the notes in the chord and play an arpeggio, as in play the notes of the chord in succession.
