Sounds cool Arkhane, I'd definitely like to hear the finalized versions some time!

SLK, I had a feeling... Curious to hear what you guys come up with!

As for me, in preparation for recording guitar for those three songs I mentioned a while ago, I finally changed my strings after like over a year... wow, sometimes I forget just how awesome new strings are. Also waiting for a package of CDs of the split with me and SLK. yay

so far to me it's sorta sounds like shorter songs that's a mix of Martyr and newer Aborted.

Yea I was wondering if you had gotten them in yet... I guess not. there's an extra surprise in that.

I sold an Ibanez JEM77P at work today to a guy who could barely play Old Mcdonald Had a Farm, so in an effort to convince him to buy it I took the guitar and tried to make it sound as best as I could...and holy shit it sounded so amazing. Those Gravity Storm pickups are amazing, heavy and screaming but organic too. As Steve Vai put it, like a "thunderous cloud of ice cream". Anything from Marty Friedman to Kreator to ZZ Top sounded great on it.

Not really 'what i'm up to as a musician' but hot damn that guitar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E571hf3mzv8

I had a bunch of riffs and song ideas lying around, so I sort of put them together. Completely instrumental. More will come.

Just got an email from Against PR, asking if I wanted to pay 150 EUR for 12 weeks of promotional help. I don't even recognise a single band on their so-called client list (http://againstmagazine.com/clients/), I'm pretty sure my money can be spent on better things.

Such as the new Thai food joint that's opened up near my campus! :D

Started writing and recording a really Doomy song earlier, guess I'll begin work on another project.. I don't believe I'll ever get to SLK's level, but I think now I've got at least 8 different projects I'm working on, not including actual bands I play in. Shitty thing is when I start a new one, I just completely halt the last one I was working on. It's like I'm stuck in this perpetual loop of starting and never finishing shit..

Anyways, this is it: https://drenched.bandcamp.com/

And if you don't like using bandcamp for whatever reason..

Services like this are pointless unless you have a label distributing it, the band is on tour, and getting the name out there in other ways. But... you've never heard of Abigor and Horna?

Oh I have, I just didn't see them there. I basically glanced over it and decided it was worthless to spend money like that.

Spirit Division put up a lyric video from our upcoming album yesterday, the album art is almost finished, and we got on a show this Saturday with a local band we really like so it seems like things are starting to pick up. Video is here if you'd like to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir35K_GQ1PU

Also got a couple songs completely done with the punk/grunge side project that my guitarist and I put together with a different drummer. Still need to get a name together but we're hoping we can get a demo for that recorded by the summer.

you were right somefella... waste of money. I get emails from them every so often offering the same thing. I started replying back with what would 1 euro get me?

If I had that cash to spare ( and I don't :( ) I could just boost my bandpage's Facebook posts or better yet, have me some delicious Korean barbecue meats!

Not doing much musically atm besides longing for more guitars. The new Oshiego album will be out in about a week but I guess we'll begin writing more songs already. No sense in wasting time.

SLK and I recorded the first Spawning Vats EP this past Saturday, and the rough mixes he sent me sounded spot-on. Very excited about this, and excited to continue writing and recording this nastiness.

The writing for the final song for the new Funeral Age album is going insanely well. We have so many ideas, but probably won't be able to fit them. Current main riffs are VERY Absu sounding, kinda along the lines of "Sun of Tipareth's" style. Fun to drum along to :)

Spent the last couple days trying to get the album layout together and it's definitely been a lot of pulling teeth. Fortunately, the artwork that we're using for the album is done but the trouble seems to be in resizing .pdf's and the like. Anyone have any experience with Discmakers?

Been pretty busy lately. Got about 4 splits organised for Hellripper and just need to find a label for one of them and I'm set. Just getting ready to record the new Rats of Reality EP which is going to have quite a different sound to our debut one. The first EP was a mixture of crust/80's punk and thrash whereas the new one has taken a new direction and sounds more like Nuclear Death Terror mixed with Darkthrone and Oathbreaker.
Also just about done recording a new crust EP influenced heavily by Swedish and Japanese punk.

This video is many years old but this guy is currently playing drums for my band now. He could use more experience playing Vader-styled death metal drumming but that's my only real complaint, which isn't even a real complaint hahahaha.

Finished writing another song for the third Sorrowseed album yesterday. That's three now. This one's almost entirely blasting. Turned out to be very 90s Cradle of Filth in the end, just as it was supposed to.

Finally got my Ibanez back from the luthier. It needed a fretjob and he adjusted everything for optimal playability. Plays great now. Tomorrow I'll see how it sounds on high volume. The Fender Mustang1 practice amp isn't really good for comparison in sounds.

And I gave it some green Universe-style knobs :D

My band's 3rd album has just been released but what the heck, might as well get started. We've begun writing songs already and the first one sounds beast.

Also, Paul Speckmann seemed to like our Master cover, here it is for anyone interested: https://hpgd.bandcamp.com/track/heathen-master-cover

https://soundcloud.com/darkrealmzero/blood-lust

lyrics-
the weight of this burden
has rested on my shoulders too long
faces cut off
disembowled corpses
the time has come

born to kill
my blood lust for beautiful sluts
has to be filled

lovely legs to dismember
each of my victims loved me

so i go out hunting
for my first taste
of blood

oh was it fun

but i could have done more better

i go home and listen to some cannibal corpse
ahaha

lovely legs to dismember each of my victims loved me

i go to school,i go to work.

not too long before
i have to kill again
before i know it im up to 18
and i dont know what to do.no i do know what to do

i,i notice that your alone and its dark
arent you afraid that some creep migh come and do something to you
ill keep you safe come here
lets go this way
i got some music we can here
cmon lets go

the weight of this burden
has rested on my shoulders too long
faces cut off
disembowled corpses
the time has come
born to kill
my blood lust for beautiful sluts
has to be filled

some fun shit that's what ive been up to

Then comes up to me a few hours later apologizing that he couldn't get the PA loud enough for my vocals to be heard over my live rig. lol fuck you dude.

He is is retarded and it was a terrible venue, didn't even have the license to have live shows so it was shut down on the 3rd band which is fine with me I played.

I actually only played through 2 full stacks. 2 tallboys... a 412 and a 212 115 and out of my 415 and a 212. so it was smaller than I have done.

Ampeg SS150 and Madison Prophecy.

hell here is a pick when I was loading back into my shed

SLK, those cabs look like they rumble. Get great bass tones from 'em? I've always loved that cabinet >woompf< that comes a few milliseconds after chugging the E.

Well, the package containing the first run of Spirit Division's first album arrived a lot earlier than expected. We'll still be having our "official" CD release show on May 1st but may have them for sale at the house show we're hosting tomorrow. I'm honestly just impressed with how good they look and everything.

Haha, I'm not a Vai fanboy. But it does need some green pickups. I think I'll leave it this way. It's a backup/2nd guitar. The pickups are better than I expected. At least good enough for the purpose the guitar has. It's really easy to get a grindy/gritty, old school death metal sound out of it. Early Paradise Lost, Carcass etc.

Nor I, but those pickups rule!

Yeah the V8/V7 pair is one of the better 'stock' pickups I've come across on Ibanez axes, forget the INF or DiMarzio-Designed ones. My only beef with it is that I wish it had more character and clarity. The another annoying thing about Ibanezes is that you fork out so much for one and they still cheap out on the pickups (though this is improving, quite a few of their newer models are finally loaded with aftermarket stuff).
