I hope to go to school for music composition, maybe even Berklee, my grades are good enough. I like to think I'm a decent composer, I've been working on a big folk metal project for a while, one song is about ten minutes so far. I like to write a lot more than just metal though, I've written some celtic and somewhat classical stuff.

Are there any other composers on here?

I like to think myself a composer, but I need to actually compose something a bit more substantial than a two-minute symphonic piece.

I compose music, but only digitally via the FL Studio software. I tend to either draw up songs according to a specific key, or I'll just use chromatics, if I want to do orchestral or extreme metal stuff. I've discovered that while I know a fair amount of music theory, I lack basic knowledge of chord progressions, so my music has a unique quality to it due to my inherent naivety. I'll sometimes find myself falling into a familiar chord progression on accident, then intentionally sway from it in order to suggest something new.

Will do, I would love to, because the other area I wanted to go into was performance, and I know that's Berklee's big thing.

I compose for classical guitar and I wrote a suite for baroque harpsichord when I was in school.bn

it is, but both of my friends are majoring in Film Scoring.

I believe that you need to play an instrument (friends are doing Guitar and Bass) and while you have classes to imporve those skills, you also take classes in whatever your major is.
