I was wondering if any one could give me tips on developing the technique. I am going for a style similar to Darkthrone or Burzum.

Try skeezing your throat while screaming, but not too much. Things have to come threw your stomach. Idealy, you should start with simpler types of black metal vocals. Theses should give you a basis and when your more confortable with them try experimenting with higher pitched vocals. The falseta technique(singing like a girl, but with your voice) can have a little combination with your black shrieks in order to accomplish a more similare vocal style to burzum. I'd say grim vocals are an excellent starting point.
