Hey guys, I started a new doom band called Shroud of Delirium with the goal of combating Chicago's parasitic hardcore scene and we just posted our first song. The drums aren't exactly in line because we recorded them last for this rough demo. Some feedback would be great, thanks!

Instrumentally it is fine. I think the song sounds a bit unintersting. Not a huge variation on the groove.

The weakest point are the vocals. The poor mixing obscures a lot of the timbre that would otherwise surface with more clarity. They are also very weak, sort of reminds me of what someone would sound like doing some form of sprechgesang.

My opinion. Instrumentally, it was actually pretty good. The opening was pretty alright.

The vocals though... they killed them...
Sorry.

If I could make a suggestion - Go for a black metal approach and do rasps. I think it would've sounded cool. But the vocalists.... It's his voice, it's almost undeveloped, and sounds just... childish.

Instruments are decent, drums are a bit loud in my opinion, drown out the guitar a bit. Agree with the above post about the vocals. Also, they are WAY too high in the mix and sound pretty badly recorded.

The clean vocals sound too nasally. The harsh vocals could use a bit of work, but were pretty good. Instrumentally, though, I thought it was quite good.

Well, despite what most people are saying, I think that while the vocal work in itself isn't the greatest, it fits in well with the atmosphere you're trying to create. Kind of like what Attila does in Mayhem: not the best vocals, but unique and fitting.
I do agree that some black metal-esque rasping would mix in nicely.
