I was wondering if anyone knows of any type of effect pedal that can give a guitar or bass a cold, metallic, industrial feel with out the use of a mxer or comp program, im ask this because a song subject for my band concerns machines and i thought a cool thing to try would be giving the solo a mechanical feel to it, any one have any idea of such a pedal?

Get a pedal board that allows you to create your own tones. That's what I've done, and I can make any guitar tone I feel like taking the time to.

Trent Reznor used a Boss Metal Zone direct to mixing board for his guitar tone until he got a Line 6 Vetta II.

Try a chorus with some distortion that has few mids and alot of highs.
