And I have all sorts of recording software on my computer such as Reaper and ACID Pro, I know it is compatible with both of those programs, but I have no idea how to get it to boot from one of those, can anyone help?

How to run it with Reaper: Open Reaper, go to: Insert->virtual instrument on new track..., go to VSTi and select dfh sampler(Toontrack)(16 out).

Then it should be running.

YOu've got to look in preferences or one of the drop down menus at the top.

Add a new track, open the "Effects" box for the track, and look in VSTi for EZdrummer.

Is it possible that it isn't working because my Reaper is a trial version?

No, I highly doubt that since my reaper is also the trial version. But have you checked the bar at the top? There should be a button called "insert" there pressing that brings down several options and the second one should be "Virtual Instrument on new track..." just click that, then just find "VSTi Dfh Sampler (Toontrack)(16 out)" and it should be working if there is not something wrong with your reaper...

Have you managed to get any other VSTi instruments working? Or is it a specific problem with EzDrummer?

Yeah, I have no "Virtual Instrument on new track" option.

I need an alternate method for drum sounds, lately I've been using the patterns from a keyboard I have. Is this program relatively easy to use? I already have Reaper, so all I'd need is this.

It's VERY easy to use, I just seem to be running into some uncommon issues.

I'll try to explain from scratch.

1) Go to Options -> Preferences
2) In the menu to the left, choose VST under Plugins
3) Add the path to where your EZdrummer/DFH is under VST plug-in paths
4) Press OK to close the window
5) Go to Insert -> New MIDI item
6) Go to View -> FX Browser
7) Look in VSTi for Dfh Sampler (Toontrack) (16 out)
8) Drag and drop Dfh Sampler (Toontrack) (16 out) to the fx button of your MIDI track (a window should now pop up, showing the EZdrummer interface)
9) Click the EZX button and choose Drumkit From Hell and wait for it to load
10) Close this window. Right-click the MIDI track (the green piece) and select Open items with built-in midi editor
11) From here I'm sure you can figure things out for yourself

Saw now that you just have EZdrummer... Just follow this guide but instead of DFH/Drumkit From Hell, read EZdrummer. Hope it helps.

I am having the same problem now as TheYardstick. Tried your method above, Radiation, and everything went well up until :
7) Look in VSTi for Dfh Sampler (Toontrack) (16 out)

Ez Drummer was not there. All that's there is:

ReaSamplOmatic5000 (Cockos)
ReaSynDr (Cockos)
ReaSynth (Cockos)

So, EZ Drummer is not there...I'm not even sure what the above 3 things are?
Am I doing something wrong, something I'm forgetting?

Alright, nothing's working.

Here are some pictures of my folders, hopefully this might fix the issue.

Sorry, I can't contribute in helping you with your problem. But I just wanted to say that ezdrummer is a great thing to have. I'm using it with FL Studio and having a great time making drum tracks. You can control the velocity of the hits, play ghost notes and get different sounds based on where the drums are hit.

Yeah, I was going to use it to program some odd-time exercises, but I'm having no such luck XD

If anyone is wondering, I can't even get it open in ACID Pro and Reaper, and I can't even find the files for it in those respective programs.

I got up to Step 7 on the 11 Step guide and I still encountered the same old problem.

Ok, I'm passed this now. EZDrummer is now installed. I am able to open it in Reaper (the drum kit appears on screen, I can hit them and make sounds), but I still can't figure out how to record.

You have to do one of the four:

1) program drums in a program like guitarpro and then export the midi
2) program a loop in fruityloops or the like
3) use a midi keyboard to hit the keys that correspond to whichever sound you want
4) use an electric kit inputting into reaper with dfh turned on.

What does this have to do with EZDrummer?

That's how you use EZDrummer.

Yeah I'm getting easy drummer now. I'm going to run it through Fruityloops and hopefully get something decent for once.

Yeah, but saying "program a loop in fruityloops or the like" is not helping, as that's what I need to know how to do.

I personally don't use FL so I have no idea how to make a loop. But I'd assume the principle is the same as programming in Guitarpro...program the beats you want, export the midi and then import it into reaper with dfh turned on.

Yeah if one can get to the piano roll, you press "Control + M" to import MIDI.

I think you have to import channel 10 when you import drums (well you have to do that for guitar pro files)
