Listened to the self-titled Peste Noire record at the gym this morning and was reminded of how much I love Famine's guitar playing and overall sound.

Does anyone here have info about what gear he uses, modes & scales, tunings, etc.?

Obviously there is a lot of studio mixing going on, just wondering what else contributes to the overall PN sound.

Thanks,
Bryan

I just listened to that on Youtube. Wow, pretty far out.

My pulled-out-of-my-ass guess is E-standard guitars with lots of midrange, not much bass, not much gain, with lots of tracks layered over each other.

And guitar tones don't exist in a vacuum - it partly sounds the way it does because of how the drums etc are mixed to complement it. To get that guitar tone, you'll also need to get that drum tone, and vocal tone, and everything else.
