Yeah I saw that, you didn't have a page up last year when I was mulling over name ideas. I added the umlauts over the A for an aesthetic change so it's not exactly the same as yours. I will check out your stuff though!

Actually I did have one up last year. That tape was out in May and I had a camp up prior to it. Esp since it was out digitally in Feb cause I did it for a challenge here that year. And I guess if I add an umlauts to say Päntera or Iron Mäiden it'll be okay cause it's different.

Well, neither of you have bands that are household metal names like Iron Maiden or Pantera, so you have no excuse for complaining, also considering you were assumably both oblivious of each other whilst naming your respective bands.

I just dislike the fact that you didn't do your due diligence to make sure no one had the name your flippent attitude about it something to frown about as well. But I guess I really shouldn't make a fuss about it since you most likely won't get anything done with this if it took you over a year to get a single song done after you have so called picked a name.

And Syntek, you really have no say in anything but I was aware there was no such band or project going on when I took this name back in the tail end of Jan cause I was working on a logo in Feb for the Feb release of it for the challenge thread. I did multiple searches on multiple sites just to make sure it was unused. And this guy wasn't anywhere to be found. So I take offense that you even suggest that there was some sort of lack of work on my half making sure the name was free and clear. Additionally I should've said something more along Severed Victim but he is no longer with that band so I guess that doesn't matter anymore. I just threw 2 names out off the top of my head to show the utter disregard.

The guitar parts are composed well, but they're so precise that they kind of lack feeling, there's not much phrasing and no use of the pocket for the riffing - they just don't feel right. You could vary it, especially in the slower sections, by trying different picking/strumming patterns. Overall the music is done well, but the guitars are very sterile.

I wasn't trying to be rude, but you obviously are. I find your attitude rather immature. I did search far and wide when coming up with the name, there was nothing to be found. If you are going to have such a bad attitude about it, I will add an extra fucking letter on it if that will appease you.

Yeah I only had a regular sharpie so the points aren't very pointy, but other than that I think it turned out well. I used some photo editing to reverse the colors so it's a white logo on black rather than the other way.

Regardless of the naming drama, I think that this is some very good black metal. You seem to have a very firm grasp on dynamics, which somewhat rare for the style. I look forward to hearing from more of your band.

Thanks a lot man! I'm hoping to have some stuff done in December/January. I'm leaving to go back to college today so I'll be away from my recording pal for some time. And it takes me forever to write stuff, I'm still learning! As I posted in response to some comments on another forum, I definitely need to work on making things more cohesive and have a better flow. I am really glad people seem to be liking the song for the most part, though. I think it turned out pretty well for me only having about 3 and a half years of guitar playing under my belt. This was also the first song I've ever written bass guitar for, I was pretty happy with how that came out.

I do have ideas for two songs. I want to explore themes I developed in this song further, so I think it will be a mildly cohesive 'trilogy' of songs. The song after this I want to be slower, heavier, and more doomy, yet still melodic. And for the third I have some speedier riff ideas in the vein of the intro for this song. I have a lot of work ahead!
