MC has a Google alert for "Viraemia" set up. He has to.

When I was 13, Viraemia were my jam. When I see people dismiss them as a standard boring tech-death band it's like all the angst and poor argumentative skills from that time come flushing back into my conscience.

it's not the fact that you defend them, it's just the fact that when they come up, you're right there, it's just funny to me, makes me think you have an alert on the word.

Well, for the past few months I've only seen them being mentioned on this board in this very thread, which I usually check first thing I wake up, so maybe that explains why I seem so insistent upon showing up whenever they're mentioned. The fact that I'm currently in a polyamorous, Greek-fashioned homosexual relationship with all the former members only has a little bit to do with it.

Oh, I have long ago revisited the Viraemia EP and everything I said about the band before the beginning of July can be disposed of. Got the review re-written etc..score bumped up a bit, I like the EP, it's not brilliant but worth the random listen now 'n then.

Speaking of Viraemia:

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/She_Was_Dead_When_I_Got_There/3540346409

Clannsy? You know them? Sound awfully similar to Viraemia imo, interesting stuff, never got past demo phase sadly...

You mean you had an opinion on something, some guy told you that you were wrong, then five minutes later you did a complete 180? This is entirely unprecedented behavior for you!

Apologies if someone mentioned it before, but damn, Frog's review of Halberd's debut is stellar! Well done, brother!

Very convenient that he gets modded the day after writing a 91% review for Halberd! Almost too convenient, even!

Did you really just shit that down here without looking at my post? I said I revised the album and the review, that's not a matter of 5 minutes, it took me days, mind you.

I think his statement would've still been sufficiently hyperbolic if he had said "several days" instead of "five minutes".

Yeah that was quite the good review (same goes for yours), although I don't really understand the comparison to Deicide. Also, I think the Morbid Angel comes out in the solos and not so much the riffs. It's really cool to see people I know make such a good album, I'll probably do a review of my own soon.

If they didn't have different tastes, I'd almost think that LesMiserable was a new account by the TheLiberation guy.

Damn though, that Halberd is definitely a good album. It took me forever to wrap my brain around everything going on and I'm still finding more on subsequent replays.

Thanks man! I didn't really feel the Deicide either. Those brash solos do invoke some old school vibes, though.

The Deicide was a very particular sound, I'll revisit the album again and pinpoint it - but I distinctly remember a brief moment - but obviously, the MA/Bolt Thrower Influences are right on. That being said - thanx for the compliment dude. Appreciate it!

I definitely see it as an album worth going back to over and over, there's tons of stuff going on and it just really twists and turns and crushes and devours. It's a towering and very impressive release. I just hope with these reviews, MA might have a cult band brewing....

The latest Judas Priest RoS reviews is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. Dead on in every respect.

I agree it is terrific. One of the best honest, straight from the heart while still lucid and entertaining reviews I've read in ages.

Exigence's taste in reviews is similar to his taste in music, it sucks. In fact, we just rejected the review since it was a fanboy rant without any musical description.

From Twisted_Psychology's Priest review:

I'd check in with Accept or Queensryche if you want to see 80s metal still going strong.

The really funny part is that you can apply that statement to two Queensryches and it still isn't accurate.

Since we are in total agreement on everything regarding 'Showtime, Storytime', I had fun reading Zelkiiro's review just now.

By my count, he only used the word "vapid" a grand total of 3 times in 4 reviews today. His Napalm Death review alone had more than that, if you include "vapidity."

He seems to have quite the fetish for that word. You could say his use of it is as superfluous as all metal post-1994!

I don't know how to handle this, he rated an album above 0%, and this line was quite fun too..
Quote:
In addition to this, a stadium rock chanting of the band's name brings this album down from it's otherworldly nature (should have been replaced with screaming, wind, and explosions).

I thought that was a good review too, also in no small part because I wholeheartedly share his views. I'd also love to get a chance to hear not just Floor singing, but Marco playing bass for, some oldies like 'Gethsemane' and the wonderful 'Sacrament of Wilderness', not to mention I bet they could pull off a ripping version of 'Crownless' now, one of my old faves. What with this current fashion for reunions and heritage shows, maybe Nightwish will do a "first three albums" retrospective concert and film it. Nightwishful thinking.

Also I read the last line of the review in Professor Farnsworth's voice.

LeMiserable logic:

Also, using the wrong form of "whose" in the title to his Spiritual Healing review.

There are reviews in here, which label an album as solid and give it a score of 80.
