Epic is an adjective I always use, but that doesn't imply it's a favourite of mine - my favourites would be stuff like repugnant, insidious, iniquitous etc. but I hardly get the chance to use them.

I hate using it, but it's the only term that applies at times

I find it's use rather inevitable.

Epic would a good adjective if it weren't so overused. Grand, majestic, and anthemic work well in its place though.

Thanks, with Monolithic, I've got myself a fairly good range of words to use now

I find "mammoth" to work as well.

I sometimes toy around with "mammothic" even though it isn't a real word and I always end up replacing it.

Epic is a fine adjective, I'd say.

It's become something of an absurd cliche. I use it on occasion myself, but often when it occurs it's symptomatic of the vocab-challenged.

Favorite and most used adjectives in my reviews, as well as my upcoming reviews would be:

Elegant
Grand
Flawless
Astounding
Cold
Freezing
Obscure

I mostly write reviews on atmospheric, drone and black metal and these words usually do the trick.

All of which describing Metallica's "group-circle-jerk-on-James-Hetfield" which ended up spawning The Black Album...

That's a good one, could be used for describing the riffs on some of Celestia's or Mortifera's albums, something like morbidly or melancholically elegant.

Some (good) melodeath actually sounds elegant, especially when accompanied with piano.

Well, music styles that these adjectives describe are certainly my favourites, but there are also more imaginative adjectives.

Masturbating On The Unholy And Inverted Tracks Of The Grim And Frostbitten Necrobobsledders

Among all the other ridiculous track names on that album.
