We're getting many of these complaints lately, and we're aware of the problem. This is, once again, due to server configuration issues that need to be resolved with our host's help. It's fairly complicated and I won't get into the details, but I'm just letting you all know we're definitely looking into that and will get them all fixed as soon as possible.

For those with friends who cannot access the site, it's because they have been inadvertently blocked by the firewall due to overly strict security rules being triggered. You can tell them to give us their IP address (either [by proxy of the friend in question obviously] PMing me or HellBlazer, emailing webmaster at metal-archives dot com, or sending us a PM on the Facebook page) and we'll remove them from the blacklist.

I couldn't even open the site so couldn't pm you guys and I don't use Faecbook

Interesting, the site sped up considerably just now [it's been slow all morning]

The site's had its ups and downs and sometimes cannot load for me, though.

I was blocked from the site a few days ago (I'm back now, obviously), and since then I can update most things (lineup, tracklists, et cetera) as usual, only thing I seem unable to do now is uploading/replacing album covers.

For instance, I tried to upload this image: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1949 ... tended.jpg to this album's page: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Bo ... _Now/53754, but when I press the save-button it just keeps loading forever, and it never happens.

So, how come?

I just tried to upload the second album cover and it worked... I do see your IP show up in the Apache error logs with strange error messages I can't figure out... What is your browser/version?

Earlier today I was able to upload an album cover of the Turning Back album by Blindman (http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Bl ... Back/91427). But I still couldn't upload that other cover for the Vow Wow EP (which doesn't have one yet). Just now, I tried to upload that cover using Mozilla Firefox, but then I got these messages (for an EP that already is on the database and has all those things filled out already):

Please choose a release type from the list.

Please select a valid label. If the album is self-released or independent, please tick the appropriate checkbox.

Please enter the release date (only the year is mandatory).

Please enter the tracks for this release.

So you tried uploading the cover to that Vow Wow EP with both IE8 and Firefox and it failed both times, is that correct?
