I just received an e-mail rejecting my submission for my band ULVGEIST. Reason lack of proof for a physical release. I find this rule quite amusing. My friends band got accepted just a little while ago, they just released a ep, demo....i havent seen a review or any physical proof. My old band, tried entering them in TWICE...rejected TWICE! Why...no physical proof of a release. Then what the hell do i have in my hands? The damn disc.
Another thing id like to get off my chest, it specifically states in the rules that each band must have at least one release. In my many travels to this site i have seen hundreds upon hundreds of bands that have no releases under the discography.

Okay, first of all, you can drop the confrontational attitude. We're not your enemies, and we're not here to pick fights. It seems like you submitted your band without actually showing any photographic evidence of the demo. Simply linking to a page that says "Demo out today!" says nothing, because there's countless bands that've posted the same thing after uploading a digital-only download.

If you want to resubmit, please upload pictures of the actual jewel-cased discs, and include the links to the pictures in your submission notes. Or since you have editorial control over Ulvgeist's Facebook, you can simply upload the pictures there.

If you want to reply, please do so in the appropriate thread. We use this topic for these types of discussions, rather then starting a new thread. This one will be locked shortly.

Also, any bands you've seen on this site that appear to lack any releases in their discography will have had a demo or similar release released at some point in time, but their tracklists and/or release years were unknown.

Sometimes I wonder if, had I written "We have decided to not list your band on the website" instead of "Your band has been rejected" would go over more smoothly. It's saccharine and PC as fuck, but hey, some people really seem to take the "rejection" personally...!
