No. Reports in v1 were deleted after being handled.

Unless, coincidentally, that report was still open in the time frame during the v2 launch, and was later closed through the v2 mechanic, I suppose, but then you'd see it like any normal v2 report now.

It's a very old one... Never mind, dude. Thanks for the info.

Just an annoyance that should get checked.

I use Chrome. This problem still haunts.

I've had that happen to me a couple of times before too.

On the following release, I have been trying to move the recording information into the correct album field (from its current place in the additional notes to the recording information field) and each attempt I have subsequently received "loading" message at the top of the screen and am unable to update it, but I am able to do so for other releases on the Archive. Someone else try and see if it is specific to me or universal/truly site related for this particular album entry.

Yup, that album page is fucked up. The site just IP banned me for trying to mess with it too so I suggest nobody else load that page until the webmaster deals with it.

I have this issue affect the line-up editor as well, when trying to add new members. It happens on both band and album pages.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I found what it seems to be a bug or something in this split record:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Mu ... ide/366521

Notice the repeated non-clickable band names. If you go to the edit section it lists the three bands correctly in the "band" field.

It's fine. The last track is a collaboration; that's the only way to add it.

I get this following error message when trying to correct some spelling errors in the additional notes for the album but I'm not sure why because it is definitely a demo and not a split release.

Mild V2 suggestion: stop making reports of the "Re-releases, other versions" type flagged for moderator attention by default. Since the database can now accommodate reissues, they no longer need to be removed, so people have been using the reports to suggest that reissues be added rather than removed. You don't need a moderator for this.

Question from this thread:
Quote:
If the members of a band aren't known, shouldn't it say "unknown" rather than "none". Presumably all bands have (or had) members.

I know that this is an issue of no importance, anyways when you try to add a picture which is too large in size, the site always show this message ("band photo") even if you are editing an artist's page.

And here I have another of really no importance question, but anyways

Editing this artist's page ( http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/A ... rle/518846 ) we don't know his birth date but we know only he was born in 1989 ( http://corrierealpi.gelocal.it/belluno/ ... -1.8686085 )

We know his date of death though, and he was only 24 when he died ( http://corrierealpi.gelocal.it/belluno/ ... -1.8675182 , "25 anni ancora da compiere" means that he had not turned 25 yet)

The system though freezes his age at 25. I know that it's another stupid issue. It's correct that the system in these cases counts i.e. 2014 - 1989 = 25, there should be some "manual" kind of particular edit?

It's July already, could 2017 be added for future releases, e.g. http://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/567878 ? :)

When an artist is credited as a band member on an album, their artist page will display any active band as a "current band," even if they are not listed in the lineup. In this case, it is caused by an "other version" originally released under another band name.

Probably not the best thread to post this, but it's definitely not the worst.
Had a quick look at this:
http://www.metal-archives.com/content/h ... tab_adding
Band entry form >> Years active >> Sorting
Candlemass' case is no longer a valid example; you could probably use Edge of Sanity instead:
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Edge_of_Sanity/106

Why can't knights remove invalid (re-)releases? There seems to be little to no damage that can be done compared to that which can be done using existing abilities. Diamhea and Porman do take care of the reports promptly, yes; however, if you think about it, 70% of those reports are flagged by knights, whom you entrust with handling data of more crucial importance. So, why clog the report queue unnecessarily?

I don't know what happened, but my edits are not going through... I changed the lyrical themes for http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Dagon/46679 , and, although the change appears in the update history, it's not actually showing on the site/band profile...

edit, a coupla hours later: now my edits appear fine. I'm still wondering about the above, tho.

Did anyone notice any font changes on the main site? It terms of size, especially?

Or are my Opera, Firefox and Explorer fucked up? (err... Explorer always sucked anyway)

The other day I saw another one of those "female fronted bands" threads in the recommendation central and was thinking why the guy just doesn't do an advanced search for gender female and line-up role vocals, then I noticed an advanced search for artists doesn't actually exist. That seems like a bit of an oversight.

I was adding a hyperlink for ross the boss on another artist's page,

Image

and I noticed that there's a different name listed there, that does not appear on his page
http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/R ... _Boss/9479

1.afaik, Funicello is his birth name, not Friedman, but it's not like I have a copy of his birth certificate

2.whoever added the Funicello, either accidentally or surrepticiously typed the first three letters as capitals, highlighting the FUN part.

I had some cache issues a coupla posts before, apologies if that's the problem again, and not the site...

I've got to admit that I haven't looked through all 58 pages of requests, but while searching through the labels (by country) I thought it would be nice to see the number of releases listed on the search page to get an idea how large the label is. That way it is for example much easier to find out which are the largest (and often most important) labels of a certain country.

This is a quite useful thing to know imho as it makes it easy to find new interesting and often "forgotten" bands. A classic early extreme metal label like "Morbid Records" is likely to have cool stuff among their releases, often bands that didn't make it big but were good enough (by their standards back then) to get an EP or an album released.

That was derived from the name he was credited under in the unlisted band "The Dictators" - I fixed it.

DreamOfDarkness: I like the idea.

A problem that has been first proposed back in 2012, and again by me half a year ago, but apparently got ignored. When one adds a split album, in many cases, the band order got wrong. Thus it may happen that the title reads "Title 1 / Title 2", while Title 1 is really the title of the second band in the band line, Title 2 belongs to the first band in the band line. (Example) This may give a wrong impression to the reader, and has been a big annoyance to me.

Proposed solution: in the band line, list the bands according to the order they appear in the split album. (I believe implementing it is not technically hard...)

(Currently, if you add a split on Band A's page, then Band A will appear last in the band line, which seems ridiculous to me.)

Do anyone have problems with loading Christophe Szpajdel's page too, or is it just me? I've tried different browsers, but it just freezes.

I managed to load it with Opera. It's no surprise it freezes with all that miscellaneous stuff he's done.

It takes a good two minutes to load. Dan Swano's page is almost as slow, but takes less time to load.

Takes some time with Chrome, but eventually gets there. I'm making a wild guess here, but it miiiight be related to his twenty quadrillion logo credits.

Hey guys

I am not sure if this is a bug, but I though it may be worth mentioning. When I search for a genre in the search engine, for example 'progressive', that gives me a total of 7700 entries (a number which, of course changes as new bands are included). However when I click on the 'genre' tab in the quick links and select 'progressive' it gives me just over 9000 entries.

Does anyone have an idea why there is such a massive discrepancy?

Cheers

The "Progressive" genre category also includes "technical" (and maybe others I'm forgetting), that's why the number of bands is higher than when you're specifically searching for the string "progressive".
