I'm not sure why you're asking here, PiotrB, but there's no blacklist reason and nothing on the forum (all of which you probably already know). If you want to have them re-evaluated, let's take this to the HQ.

What is up with this band? Their albums are Green Day instrumentals...
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Taa ... iscography

The links to Sweet Children, and Green Day in their years active under their other names show up completely unrelated bands from different countries.
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Green_Day/2014
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sweet_Children/1987

Is this a troll band, or does it just need some heavy cleaning up of their page?

:edit: It was vandalized and is being fixed. Thanks, mods.

Yep, some really moronic vandalism. There were even reports asking us to "merge" the page with Green Day. The user has been banned and the damage repaired.

So the additional notes are wrong? The release never happened? How do you know?

EDIT: Nevermind, got more details. Deleted.

I don't know if this is the right place, but why does Buckethead have a page on the archives? None of the listed bands have pages here.

What I'm betting happened is somebody made a Buckethead band entry in their drafts, then somebody else found it and decided to fully flesh it out. It should probably be deleted.

I would've thought it was for Praxis since Mick Harris was in it but it looks like it was only for one cd as a guest.

He has many fully progressive metal albums, at least more than 9 or 10.

It makes more sense to have him in the database, than some of the borderline drone or (depressive/ambient) black metal or funeral doom stuff.

Whoops, didn't notice that because I had added it as an American band and only later corrected the country. Deleted.

Why is there a new English Dogs? It even links the old one in the previous names. OpsiusCato added them and I think he's a mod (he's answered a bunch of my reports) so I assume there's a reason.

From the looks of it, it's another example of a band that originally split-up, then two separate groups of band members decided to "reform" the band and call themselves by the original name. It's a bit sloppy, but that's the situation. We'll see what we can do to make it less confusing.

There are currently two line-ups. Both versions feature original members from the 1981 line up, one (the new entry by OpsiusCato) has the band playing speed/thrash/hardcore while the other (original entry) has the band playing punk. Both bands are currently active and releasing new material, hence the need for a second entry.

Perhaps something in the additional notes explaining all of this could help?

We're looking into applying something similar to the Queensryche precedent for the sorting.

By the time the inquiries started about what was going on with the English Dogs edits, I wasn't even halfway through all of them. That's why they looked awkward. Using the Queensryche precedent, Now there's a page for each of the versions, just like TheStormIRide mentioned. Go ahead and take a look. If it still looks confusing, let me know and I'll polish it a little more. Or as much as needed :P

It is due to Meyer's association with Samoth and the scene in general. A rare exception.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you regarding the inclusion of Scalplock on the Metal Archives website. While the band is included as being part of the Grindcore genre on this pages I have to strongly disagree with you here as this was a band deeply rooted in the Hardcore/Crust Punk/Power Violence scene and genres. If you are going to include this band you might as well include bands within those genres like Hellnation, Spazz, Capitalist Casualties, Dropdead, Siege or Short Hate Temper just to name a few examples.

I honestly do not understand how a band so obviously distant from any of the Metal genres is accepted in this very pages while bands like Gut from Germany or the Meat Shits from the USA have certain releases that are deeply rooted in the Grind/Death Metal genres but aren't accepted.

I include a few links so you can listen and judge for yourself. I hope you look into this matter and reconsider the inclusion of this band on Metal Archives, other than that let me congratulate you on the good work with this amazing website, keep it up!

Regards,

quorthoncronos

Nuked: Black Mastrobation

Sounds like the noise passages of Zarach Baal Tharagh's stuff, but minus the riffs.

is the band in because of the side-project rule? Hardly metal the stuff.

Doesn't seem particularly side-project-y at first glance. I'll check out those albums.

Related band Canaan has a similar genre tag, what about them?

No idea ... I have just stumbled over Neronoia because I have received Promo-MP3s from their latest release and had been astounded by the music's general absence of metal elements.

Canaan? No, idea but looks suspicious as well.

edit:
According to discogs:
Spoiler: show
Canaan ‎– Blue Fire
Genre:Electronic, Rock
Style:Ethereal

Canaan ‎– Walk Into My Open Womb
Genre:Electronic, Rock
Style:Abstract, Industrial, Goth Rock, Ambient

Canaan ‎– Brand New Babylon
Genre:Electronic, Rock
Style:Industrial, Goth Rock, Ambient

Canaan ‎– A Calling To Weakness
Genre:Electronic, Rock
Style:Goth Rock, Ethereal

Canaan ‎– The Unsaid Words
Genre:Electronic, Rock
Style:Industrial, Goth Rock, Ambient

Canaan ‎– Contro.Luce
Genre:Electronic

Canaan ‎– Of Prisoners, Wandering Souls And Cruel Fears

Should be deleted ... both.
