Latest casualties:

Jonas Hellborg - a dozen or so jazz fusion albums, one album with some heavier prog guitar work, but otherwise the same
Adversus - darkwave/folk/electro; their latest release has some galloping guitars/rhythms, but it's only a couple of songs and mostly used to accompany the vocal melodies/provide folky rhythms, not really much riffing going on
Koan - random ambient project (tbd soon)
Runhild Gammelsæter - another random side-project, not metal (tbd soon)

Vampire Squid: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vam ... 3540367127
http://vampiresquid.bandcamp.com/

I hate to post this here, since I really love the more recent of the band's two albums, but... I'm not really sure whether or not this is metal enough for the Archives. The music feels metal-based because of the tech-death but there's quite a bit of influence from non-metal deathcore and djent in both of their albums, so I suppose it could go either way. If the band stays, the genre needs an overhaul; there's practically 0 "grindcore" in this, and the mathcore influence is a byproduct of the djent influence rather than a standalone entity.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate location but the band act of grace looks like a melodic death metal band from poland however they have nothing under their discography and they seem to be split up so I assumed they probably shouldn't be on here? I couldn't seem to find their alleged demo that was not listed under their discography.
Its possible they were a side project but looking to have no 'original' releases their existance on the encyclopedia didn't seem appropriate.

That would be the very reason the demo doesn't have its own entry: no tracklisting can be found for it, at least not yet. Without an exact tracklisting and year of release, an album cannot be given its own album page. Basically, in this case, the only proof floating around that the band did in fact release anything would be in the review found under the related links. They were added by a longtime contributor, who if I remember correctly, was a moderator around that time.

The band/demo was mentioned in a zine. http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/4552 ... yerxo7.jpg

There is a burden of proof when a band is submitted, unfortunately we don't have complete records of that proof from past years. If there discography is listed in the additional notes, that's because we don't have the tracklisting/title - we still required proof that a release existed, so many of the obscure bands are from oldschoolers tape/zine collections and things like that.

Xerath either need to be deleted or they need a genre change: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Xerath/3540282310

The band are heavily influenced by what's now accepted to be djent - they sound a lot like Meshuggah with an orchestra behind them, basically. Granted, it's at least somewhat more metal-influenced than most Meshuggah material - I guess some of the stuff here could pass for that sort of Devin Townsend-type "progressive metal" which I have little to no experience with - so I can't say for certain whether or not they should get nuked.

Here are some songs:

Check this band out:

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Bla ... 3540373689

It's strange to me that this band was accepted. Of course I don't want to see it to be deleted, but their Ep was released on January, 2014 (I modified it myself as it was reported). The band was added on 5th, December, and probably the releasing date wasn't confirmed too precisely...

The submission notes link to this: http://stormspell.bigcartel.com/product ... -killer-ep

The Google cache for it (at the time of this writing) is from December 27th and it looks exactly as it does now, nothing saying it was a pre-order. Whoever accepted it probably saw that and didn't look further. I wouldn't have, either. It's not really a big deal because we can easily undo mistakes, but it's out now, anyway.

Deleting them would be rather drastic since they are definitely more metal than the kind of djent we reject. I can add djent to genre, but the other genres already present sound/seem to still count.

Please check out this band:

Bitch from Switzerland - have 2 full-length albums:

1980 - First Bite

1982 - Some Like It Hard

The first album is not so heavy and sometimes even far from hard rock; the second album has its metal moments similar to Def Leppard NWOBHM debut. Overall the band seems to be more hard rock than heavy metal. Please make a decision: should this band stay in the Archives?

Thanks!

aeternus1990, I can't take a stand on the band's inclusion, but in case it was you who uploaded the second album to YouTube, the video for the second song "Babe It's You" seems to contain the music for the first song as well. The first two songs are the same.

It was submitted as "Rox (UK)". We did notice the blacklisting, but decided that the band was metal enough. Certainly not AOR as the blacklist note said, possibly a different band altogether.

Oh, and goodbye, lunaboy/MMM/etc...

ah, and I was looking for them... very non-confrontationally, but did you listen to their earlier material as well? there are some jazzy influences, but it's heavy. "in therapy" is more like latter day katatonia or anathema, though.

also, I know they've been discussed before, but could someone listen to Eths' III? I'm listening now and it doesn't strike me as out-there non-M-A material... (there are several playlists with the entire album on youtube)

thanks :)

edit: sorries, I just realised this is the "accepted" thread... should I re-post the Eths on the "blacklisted"?

I remember checking Thine's entire discography after Napero brought them up for deletion. Some stuff had Type O Negativean vibes, but it was judged rock overall.

Deleted Sykelig Englen. Dubious band with a crappy physical "release" (if it even exists). This can be re-evaluated once the alleged full-length is released later this year.
