So I ask once again (message seems to be lost ^^)
Why ist the austrian project Uruk-Hai deleted???? Two albums are Metal....maybe the rest seems ambient, but if you look, you have many of such bands.....even from the same artist the Band *Eismond* . Just the FIRST demo ist Ambient, the following outputs are all Black Metal like, so i see no reason for it not to be add.
Hope you can explain it, thanks

As I want to add it, it came following info:

"Warning: a band called "Eismond" (Austria) has been blacklisted! Your submission will NOT go through.
If you think this is an error, please ask in this forum thread. Attempting to circumvent the blacklist is a bannable offense. Thank you."
I don´t find any good reasons for this, please explain it to me

The blacklist says it's ambient. Post samples for the releases you consider metal here if you disagree.

Hey mods, why was Nuclear Devastation (Netherlands) blacklisted?

Crust punk.

They have a split EP out since December 2012 where they pretty much shifted into a blackened crusty speed/thrash band [1]. The d-beat of their first EP is gone, there are guitar leads and solos, the riffing is not too far from bands like Toxic Holocaust / Midnight / Whipstriker / [every second metal band from South America these days]. Don't know if those two tracks count as a proper release though.

That one song sounds okay, but... it's one song.

Actually its two songs ("MxPxDxSx" and "Stench of Death"). They only uploaded it as one track to bandcamp for whatever reason. Combined length running time: 05:35. Not much, I know; especially considering that neither their first EP nor the b-site would be within the scope of this site. It just isn't clear to me, whether they qualify to be included to the archives, even though they have a physical release and can be considered "metal enough" (on that release).

PS: The longer I think about this, the more I'm wondering why they should not be included. I mean: Would we add them if they only had released this split-EP? Most likely yes (physical release + metalness)...

Yeah, it's still not much. I'd feel better waiting for another release to see if they "commit" to this change in style, but I'm open to other mods' insights on this.

Well yes, that's an interesting point, and one that has been going through my and other mods' heads many times. But the fact of the matter is we simply can't deal with hypotheticals when reviewing new bands, we judge what they have released up until now. It's definitely not a valid argument for accepting this band since we do have available info on how their music sounds and what releases they have. Sometimes bands that change style after a minimalist metal release are reconsidered, btw.

Ulver? They are in the archives for their old releases, their stuff after 1997 is listed as "Ambient/Avant-garde/Electronica".

Ulver have metal releases, please take a look at the genre tag on their page (EDIT: Yeah, what Sciera said). Darkspace have tons of black metal riffing, just used in a kind of blasting wall-of-sound way (the stuff I know, at least). The tracks you linked were 95% ambient with the occasional guitars and very, very sparse parts that could be considered metal.

This was an excample....and there are many bands, which do music like *eismond* listen to this songs, then to *draumar* or darkspace for ecxample...
nd Vinterriket??? and his other projects??? very more metal in it????
If you delte them all it´s okay...but this so seems to me unfair ...

hehe* I know Ulver since the demo-recordings, and i love them...but i mean just the last albums...but i understand you...what i don´t understand is that you delte some bands, and other bands like draumar, vinterriket and his other projects are still there .. that seems not to be fair. don´t missunderstood me eismond isn´t my band ;)

I am neither familiar with Vinterriket nor Draumar, so I cannot comment on them but I assume they were -while being seemingly hybrid bands- both considered metal enough. We're not comparing bands here anyway, that's not really how it works. This isn't "add this band or else delete those". We strive for attaining a reasonable approximation of internal consistency when it comes to this dastardly slippery thing that is music, yes, but in this thread each band is assessed on its own. Uruk-Hai has been reviewed by multiple moderators and even some users provided samples from more metallic releases, but nothing ever came up that could be considered a predominantly metal release by site standards. From what you have provided so far, Eismond seems similar to Uruk-Hai in that regard.

If you disagree with the inclusion of any bands you can bring them up in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=65721 but please don't base it entirely on some sort of "justice" for another excluded band. Elaborate on why you think it doesn't belong on the band's own terms, with sufficient samples.

So i don´t wanna judge, about a band, because even if i named vinterriket, they have just a few songs with guitars...but a few, not nearly a whole album, so they are surely NOT metal. He have more than twenty outputs and all his songs with metal-influence together will not fill a half hour ..this cannot be called as hybrid, or???? Proof it for yourself, and its not the only band. So, as i say i don´t wanna judge those bands.
but either you do in this in a total consequence and delete all of those kinds of band ( and THOSE bands like Uruk-hai and Vinterriket are here for years now..funny that you delete them now) what i can totally understand and accept it, or you bearing all of those bands but not halfparted lite it is at the moment. And this is not the only cause now, where i ( and even other people) notice those things in MA-Forum...you don´t need to answer me now because i think this is not necessary, but maybe if you want and stay as a good site for metal, you should be think of those critics

jadkrig, you are wrong, Vinterriket has several metal releases, while Uruk-Hai has none (at least nobody could prove that he has at least one consistently metal release). Also, stop arguing and read our rules, everything is explained there.

Ok. I'm going to write my post in the previous page again:
Years ago my project "Frater Ximenes is Dead" had been rejected because it was only "pure noise" due to the lack of a normal recording kit. Actually we're black metal and we released a demo and you can find a track on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq8ORgtY2h4.
All the demo is Black Metal with some avantgarde elements and a moderator asked me to find a song for demostration. Here it is.
If you need to listen all the other tracks contact me through PM.

Hello!

I have a problem. I wanted to submit a band, named "Avar" (Hungarian band),but it says,it has been blacklisted. My problem is,that I can't find it at the blacklist:http://www.metal-archives.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28789
Also I don't understand why would it be on that list. It's a Black Metal band(project). But there's also another Hungarian band, called "Avar",and its hard rock-could this be the cause?

Please help&sorry if I didn't read something :)

^ That "blacklist" isn't up to date. The blacklist isn't public, that's only what the blacklist was like 6 years ago. If the site says it's on the blacklist, it's on the blacklist.

Also, there's no note related to Avar, so I have no idea why they're on the blacklist. Do they have releases? What kind of black metal is it? Samples? The band with the same name could be the cause too.

It's mainly instrumental rock. His only metallic output is a compilation of Youtube songs, which isn't really a valid digital release. That one was in the queue for quite some time, because I was weighing all the facts against each other, but in the end I decided that we should wait until he puts out a more coherent, metal release.

I was wondering why Hellcrash has been rejected after about 2 minute i added them to the queue, and a band like this http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Est ... reno/93192 (according to this page they've released a demo in 2007,but there isn't any artwork or download link to prove it) is on Metal Archives . lol, this is funny somehow.

Don't look to other bands for excuses. There was probably some proof of an actual physical release provided when it was first submitted, that info just isn't visible on the page anymore (and even if it were it wouldn't be for normal users). If you have clear proof that the release never happened feel free to bring it up in the other thread.

I rejected Hellcrash because the only ostensible release is a short (10 minutes) digital demo. Please read or re-read the rejection message you got about what is needed for a valid release.

Unscarred got rejected because the mp3 samples didn't work. I never got their demos but I'll try and find somebody who did or the ex band members, which is going to be hard since that website was the only way to contact them but it is long gone now its only archived. I couldn't even find a song of theirs on YouTube. If not at last it should be noted for the ex band members that are on other bands in MA that they used to play for Unscarred. (mobile internet didn't let me do it).

Just crossed my mind randomly, but with the release of his second album in two days which is decidedly more metal than the first, would Christopher Lee's project Charlemagne qualify for the archives?

It's such a hilarious concept, I'll be a joy to see on the archives, and a good laugh seeing some of the reviews it might garner, who knows, I might even be motivated to write one for it haha.

I tried to submit the black metal band Unmanifest, from the US, and it was rejected due to lack of proof of metalness and physical release. The band has no internet presence, so I can't link to any of their music, but it is somewhat raw & atmospheric black metal. I submitted a photo of the tape that I have and it was deemed "ambiguous," I don't know how many copies were made/how they were distributed. Is there anything else I could do now to try to get the band accepted, or should I just wait for them to release more stuff?

Thanks!

Without any samples and with an ambiguous amount of copies, I really think it's an obvious "nay". You can rip it yourself though.
