Really, a CDr limited to only 5 copies?

From the site's rules:

Production issues, length and ludicruous physical presentation aside, "I Choose Black" does not fulfill our requirements for a proper, consistent release with a fixed tracklist. It's a compilation of several tracks from different times, two new songs and six old ones thrown together with a photograph taken as a meagre cover art. There's an intro track in the middle of the album and considering the times the songs were recorded it was probably intended for the beginning of a release, which says a lot about the planning that went into this demo beforehand, honestly. Then there's this: "'Unholy Funeral' uses part of a Gulaggh song. May be deleted in the future." Doesn't sound very final to me. There isn't really much "releaseness" as we use it to define serious bands, technically it's not very far removed from bands uploading one demo song after another to Myspace.

Furthermore, considering the other non-metal demo, this isn't exactly predominantly metallic. Lots of riffless, droning chords stuff and ambient sections.

So all in all, Night Terrorist fails in just about every aspect as an acceptable band for the site. Sorry.

The band Awrizis (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Awrizis/3540363461) with the reason "A band needs a valid release before they can be accepted to the site - a valid release ".

I'm not sure if the EP was released physically, but on the official site of the band it is offered to be bought using band's e-mail - http://www.awrizis.xf.cz. If you push on the album cover, you are offered to by the EP tracks from Amazone - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_srch_dr ... ch-type=ss

Besides, the EP is among the releases on the EP's label's website - http://www.rockitaly.com/invincible/inv ... eases.html

Are these proves enough for re-submitting the band?

Seeing as the EP is only 12 minutes, I don't think it's acceptable. The previews on Amazon also sort of sound like nu-metal, I'm not sure the band would even be considered metal enough.

I doubt that this is physical (in any case, an email on their homepage isn't real proof for that) and the EP is only 12 minutes long, so not acceptable digitally.

EDIT: Beaten to it. Darn you, Zodi.

That's not an official band page, is it?

More or less, it is managed by Michael Mosher, the owner of the proyect.
The releases are 100% real

Oh, I didn't realize that and the unreadable fonts didn't motivate me to look further on the site. I've actually talked to that guy on these forums (sadly, about plagiarism and attributing proper credit to digital music scores/tabs).

You can resubmit, just add a note that the site is managed by him.

Photos of physical copies would be a plus, since the standards on digital-only bands are stricter.

In fact, I uploaded 4 more proyects of him, and I have physical copies, EXEPT of Forced Xristian and Medic!
But thanks :D I'll resubmit it :)

Can "Crown of Asteria" be unblacklisted? The only demo has just been released on Tape LTD 22 copies via Tridroid records (Pictures in link): http://tridroid.bandcamp.com/album/demo-mmxiii

I don't know if 22 is enough, though.

22 copies is fine. :) I've restored your previously deleted draft and awarded you the relevant number of points.

Hi!

I've received this email when I try to submit heavy/power metal band fom Spain's Sugoi

Sorry Terrion666, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Sugoi (Spain), for the following reason:

A band needs a valid release before they can be accepted to the site - a valid release is one that's either:
• Distributed in physical form (CD, CDr, DVD, tape, vinyl, etc)
• Digital and available for full download: must also be a finished/final mix (no garage rehearsals or rough mixes), AND long enough (preferably over 20 minutes)
• Already released. That is, no upcoming releases!

To prove this, you must include one of the following:
• PHYSICAL RELEASES: Include photographic evidence (such as this or this) and upload them to a site like Imgur.com. Optionally, if you don't have access to any of the copies, you can include links to sites like BigCartel or a label's page that's selling them, or officially announced them as available for ordering.
• DIGITAL-ONLY RELEASES: Include links to sites like Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, etc, to where the release can be purchased or downloaded.

Here is the prove of physical release:
Spoiler: show

Thanks!

Band "Son Of Crackpipe" rejected with the following comment ( http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Son ... 3540363589 ):

"Please provide song samples, or at the very least, a detailed description of the music by a trustworthy third-party (such as a zine or reviewer site)."

Complete track from their only album Benevolence Of Dogs And Other Evolutionary Accidents.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2t1BbOZ-Mo
Here are the tracks from Benevolence Of Dogs And Other Evolutionary Accidents and Mary Poppins (stream):
http://mp3hamster.net/muz/son%20of%20cr ... XkP7TBsL6o
Derivative of a lot of Nailbomb, particularly the later tracks on the LP, (particularly Religious Cancer) with drum machines, feedback, dense bass reminiscent of Godflesh.

The album (and particularly the 10" EP) are quite scarce so may not have been picked up by any Zines. The label (BGR Records) was very small and marketed the album almost exclusively through Kerrang magazine in 1995 (anyone with back issues might recall their cover for "Mary Poppins" which featured a faked photo of Mary with her jugs out, pictured here:
http://www.fudgetunnel.co.uk/images/poppins.jpg

Info on the band's history can be found here: http://www.fudgetunnel.co.uk/proj.php# > other projects > Son Of Crackpipe.

In 1995 Alex Newport (Nailbomb, Theory Of Ruin) and Tom Reardon (Hillbilly Devilspeak) formed Son Of Crackpipe under pseudonyms which were anograms of their names.
10" EP "Mary Poppins" and CD/LP "The Benevolence Of Dogs And Other Evolutionary Accidents" were released that year on BGR records.

Terrion666, please resubmit with the links to those photos included in the submission notes. :) No need to post here, mate.

Tehnamski, this goes for you too - please put what you've posted in the submission notes and resubmit. Again, there's no need to post here if your draft's simply missing evidence...

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Kre ... 3540361879

Ave,

I tried to submit "Krebsbaracke" and it was blacklisted because: "Noise, not a metal band; does not belong on Encyclopaedia Metallum. Please read (or re-read) our rules next time to see what qualifies as metal."

As a sample I had linked to material for the upcoming Split tape with Funereal Moon that will be released over Qliphot Recs Brazil.

In Fact Krebsbaracke was planned as a tribute to Artists like Abruptum. If you check the material you will hear the influence. The quality is harsh, that´s right, but in my opinion this is Black Metal, no noise because of the following reasons:
- the artist labels it as Black Metal
- NO ELECTRIC NOISES
- The instrumentation is the basic Metal Instrumentation. Real Drums, Guitar, Bass and Vocals.

If you could please check it again, I would be gratefull. The link that is included here will be deleted after the final decission.

Thanks in advance.

If the style indeed is significantly different from samples which the earlier rejection was based on, a re-evaluation can be done. But if the release with the metal material isn't out yet, it's not acceptable yet either, only after it's released.

Though, you said it's the same split you linked your samples from, so the rejection was actually based on the material which is band's most metal, or at least part of it?

We judge the actual music, not what the artist labels it.

LordK wrote:

Noise music need not contain purely electronic components.

LordK wrote:

The Strokes and Coldplay use those too.

Krebsbaracke's side of the split is pretty much riffless instrumental chaos with screams. There's some more coherent passages, but I couldn't find anything approximating black metal for more than a few seconds, however raw. It is, by far, not predominantly metal.

Why was BTBAM rejected!?!?!?11!

Just kidding.

In all seriousness though, what about Here Comes the Kraken? I believe that they've been rejected before, but that may be for their newer stuff, which I don't particularly care for. They're certainly a deathcore band, but on their first demo/EP (I don't know what it is exactly), I think they'd certainly meet the criteria for metal here at metal-archives. There's a strong melodic death/black metal influence present in the music, along with the annoying breakdowns. Just try to listen to the songs all the way through. Here are three songs:

The Legend of the Rent is Way Hardcore:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdlifSVh2x8
The quality is really shitty on this one, sorry. The other one is from their album, and sounds a bit different, so don't listen to that one.

Don't Fail Me Darko
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4shLf88F5I
This one has a really annoying breakdown/bass drop towards the end, but is good besides that.

Into the Slaughter Basement:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6HnvHGOgwc
Hell, even this is pretty good.

Exactly, that's why I said that I didn't like their new stuff, nor did I post any of it! I think they're trying to brand themselves as a nu-metal band now or some crap. It sucks. Their earlier stuff doesn't sound too far removed from As Blood Runs Black in my opinion, who, regardless of their quality, are definitely a metal band.

Here Comes the Kraken was accepted back in the day, and then (rightfully) deleted in the Great Core Purge when it was decided they weren't predominately metal. Since then they've apparently become a nu metal band (I haven't heard any of the stuff because I don't hate myself quite enough), so yeah, they're definitely not going to be earning reentry any time soon, sorry.

Here Comes the Poser is not metal at all, dude. Period. Tore and David should have kept TREWA going. They were infinitely better (and more metal) than HHTP.

There's 13 bands with "dark ambient" as a genre, not that many, eh? All these were accepted because they're side projects of metal bands as dark ambient is obviously not a metal genre...

Such as this one: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Dark_Ages/43053
