What if something unexpectable happens and the album isn't released after all? Where is the problem in waiting?

By the way, the bandcamp has only two songs.

Well, okay... so shall I post here again as soon as it's released? Or just resubmit?

I might have incorrectly filled out the form when first submitting the band. I listed post-hardcore because I was thinking of "other influences" outside of metal influences. I assure you that the band is very metal based in both vocal and instrumental styles. They have done multiple shows, released an EP (both online via sites like Spotify, itunes, etc and in cd form) this month, and are very established in the Eugene metal community.

Current Songs on EP for listening pleasure:

Interview with front-man via a local publication:

Definitely more -core than metal. I agree with Zodi.

You can just resubmit them with the necessary evidence included (i.e. a link to the label site where they confirm the release or something similar).

I will be uploading the Shitbear demo up on Mediafire as soon as I get off work. I used 4shared because my Mediafire account was giving me trouble uploading it. I also used 4shared for the Evil Spirits cassette I uploaded for audio samples. Hopefully I will be able to get my Mediafire account to let me upload those zip folders. Thank you.

Hm, I must have under-thought it because of the low tuning and the Thrash/Punk-like drumming.

Azmodes, if it's okay, I'm going to email you the zip folder with the Shitbear demo, Mediafire keeps giving me problems possibly because of the wifi spot I'm using. Should I email you the Evil Spirits zip also? :)

Evil Spirits have other releases. I'll see if I can get some extra cash to buy those other cassettes and if they are more listenable I'll submit a audio sample for you, or I'll just wait until next release. I'm not sure if that sample from the label is from something released or nut the panel just said it was new but didn't specify if it was released or not. Thank you, anyways. I'll get back to you once I get the other releases :)

I just want to know why HADES (Spain) is blacklisted, they release an EP in 1985 and they are Heavy enough.

Do you have proof of that? According to the blacklist, the album has never been released officially, and unreleased albums are not considered valid releases.

Hey guys, i know, its already been a while, but i'm still a bit confused why Circus of Fools is considered to be "not metal enough". I know, we talked already about it, but the response outside of the metal archives in the last moths was always a response related to the metalscene, nobody else seem to refer to it as being Goth-Rock (and when i'm listening to Goth Rock bands as Einstürzende Neubauten or Fields of the Nephilim i could hear no reference to what we are doing, but when i'm listening to 90s Goth Metal i hear some strong references, although our sound is moderner), as you stated it here. I know, we made some stuff before our new EP that couldn't be considered as Metal at all, but the EP "From a Distant Land" is the sample of our actual sound. Maybe you guys could reconsider, that would be great… http://youtu.be/jwm-0UHqlms there you could find the EP in its entirety, i know there's a 4 minute electro ballade part in it, but one ballade doesn't make a band "not metal" does it?

Just writing about the rejection of COYA (thrash metal, Houston, TX).
There is one release: Path of Destruction (2008)

Members side projects:
Alexander K (bass for COYA) - guitarist & singer for Descent Into Madness
Kris Ardolino (drums) - drummer for DIRT

domluciferum: I'm not hearing guitar riffs while skimming through the music, the guitars are a backing part of industrial/electronic style instrumentation.

descentintomadness: Can you provide proof of the release? Either pictures of a physical copy, somewhere it can be ordered, or a reputable/permanent download of it? We also need samples of the music. I don't see a blacklist or deletion record of it.

Physical link for download? In Metal Archives terminology, a physical release means something you can hold in your hands - a CD, a LP, a cassette, a DVD, and the likes. If it's download-only, it's a digital release.

The band Demon Project has been rejected because: there is no evidence of a such a release. If this band has indeed released anything (either a physical release, or a valid digital release) AND you can show us proof, you can resubmit it again.

Here it is...http://www.cd-russia.com/DEMON_PROJECT_Faces_Of_Yaman

Well, truth be told, Metal Archives is not a promotional tool, but an encyclopaedic effort. I was the one who blacklisted it after it was submitted three times without any proof of a valid release. In any case I'll remove them from the blacklist. All of the songs are in the same vein as "Suscitant at Diabolo"?

EDIT: You can now resubmit.

If the uploads are official and happen through some band-affiliated account, you can add a link to that Youtube account page/channel to the external links section.

EDIT: And if you mean music to prove to us that the band plays metal... you can add such links to the submission notes. I've already approved the band earlier today after finding some songs on your Facebook page, though.

Reading all about this... i really don't know why on hearth leave this user upload such a bunch of generic and repetitive bands:

http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Android29A/40317

Did you know that this buddy have not any phisic release of his "music"
And even, almost the 40% of his albums are full of noise stuff.

Just make me sick this kind of crappy stuff.

I am afraid this is the wrong thread for that. Still, if you think the band doesn't belong on the archive, please post links and samples to back up your suspicion in the right thread.

Death Camp from the USA is blacklisted for not being metal but they put an EP out earlier this year that sounds like straight up thrash metal.

Pretty crossover-y in places, but far from "straight-up thrash metal". Not enough for reversing their initial assessment, IMO.

I'm sorry but many blacklisted bands has so many contradictions.

i have created a profile from Thelema Code (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72UheVCHH08) and was rejected because it supposedly is not a metal band hahahaha

are you guys kidding me?

i have created a profile from Before the Prophecy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-ZAgsRKjC4) and was rejected too with commentary that is a deathcore band.. hahaha this is only can be a joke. Of course it is a prog deathcore band and I specified that it is a deathcore band.

Rejected just because is a deathcore band? wth? http://www.metal-archives.com/search?se ... band_genre

i like to contribute to the site, but due to some questionable attitudes, and dont make me have no incentive to contribute more. I know my opinion does not matter, because there are thousands of contributors, but no matter, this is my opinion towards certain moderators.

this is sad from big site like this.

We only accept -core bands that are more rooted in metal than in core. So, yes, we have "deathcore" listed in the Archive, but we've deemed those bands as more metal than -core. If there are bands you feel don't fit that, we can look into removing them.

Hey my band Winter Depression (Uruguay) was rejected at first, because i didn't post any song or prove that the band actually has releases. A day after that, i did it with some links to songs but this time was Blacklisted.
I'd like to know if there's any way to get the band out the blacklist.
Please help me, this is very important for us.
The band is recording it's third demo right now.

I'll put some links to youtube and soundcloud

Hi!

I recently submitted a Death Metal band from Portugal called Sannedrin, and got a response that it was rejected because "That picture is a digital rendering/fake-looking. We need an actual real life photograph."

I did make an image from two different photos and did some cleaning on the background, my mistake. Here are some links to the original photos:

http://www.theriomorphic.org/files/P4060148.JPG

Yes, the artwork kinda sucks, but the EP is real.

Cheers!

Looks good, you can resubmit. Let us know where the album can be purchased too, and include all of that info in the "submission notes".

Hi. Last week I tried to submit a Grindcore band called "Vomitando Bilis" and it was rejected because I didn't let enough evidence of a valid release so you let me the option of re-submit it. I tried to re-submit again and I let more evidence of a valid release such a Bandcamp link and some YouTube links but it was rejected again. I'm confused because I think the Bandcamp link is enough evidence of a valid release. Also, I have some mp3 of that digital album. Can you help me with this problem? Thank You

11 minutes of original material is not a valid digital release. From the rules:
"Length of material: The album must be a full-length. There is no hard-defined cut-off, as that would be arbitrary: a good guideline, however, would be roughly 30 minutes of original material. This is to avoid the kind of bands that have a lazy "promo single", or a "3 song EP", of which 2 are covers, for instance. Expect moderator discretion for evaluating this. An EP may be accepted depending on the situation. Two EPs are better than one, for sure."

9 minutes of original material, to be exact. There's two covers.

I was going to try to add my band, Swine Overlord (brutal death metal), and was told that it's blacklisted?
I am just curious as to why this is, as we've never tried to add the band before (I'm assuming someone else must've at some point). But, I believe we meet the criteria now (we have a demo with limited physical copies, a digital EP, and a physical split distributed by Land of Fog Records) so I was just wondering what I can do about this?

Any help or solution is appreciated.

Another user repeatedly tried to submit the band while they still didn't have a (quite) valid release despite us telling him otherwise, so we had to blacklist it to prevent this.

Physical split looks okay, you can submit them now.

Forgenheim is apparently blacklisted, may I ask why?
I don't see why they wouldn't be considered metal, and while I don't believe they have any physical releases, they have 8 full digital albums. Are they blacklisted for another reason?
