I submitted a band called "Inhumano" Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore from Chile.
But it was reject cause it need a valid release, so here is a prove to show you they have a valid release.

http://rottencemeteryrec.bandcamp.com/releases

It is a digital-release. Thank you and please, correct me if I do something wrong :)

People, I can not find a valid reason for not adding Praying Mantis in Metal Archives. No Metal? Oh my god! It is true that Mantis has many melodic songs that even in recent albums may sound rocker, but have heard you their entire discography? I will give several examples of purely Metal songs:

This is one of the most inquired-about bands on this forum, lots of results with the search function. The gist is that they are more melodic hard rock than metal.

Just did a search and found nothing in this thread, so I'm wondering why Phoenix, AZ band Hellen has been blacklisted.

Thanks in advance for the info.

What's with the orange, dude?

The blacklist note says it's more -core than metal. Seems to be so.

Personal trademark. I've been posting in orange since I started frequenting forums in 2002. You'll always remember me because I'm the guy who posts in orange

Azmodes wrote:

I've been to many of their shows locally and the music is straight metal with a female drummer alternating between death and clean vox. I detest core myself but love this band. So unless I don't understand what core really is (rappy vox over single note chug-chug-cha-chug-chug guitars, right?) I'll have to disagree, but I'm not the boss so whatever you guys say.

Thanks for checking, much appreciated.

No offense, but could you please stop it? It's pointless and a bit annoying to read. Thanks.

"-core" isn't really the right word here, I guess. It's more "jumpdafuckup" nu-metal, not much actual metal riffing to be found.

Hey good afternoon,

I'm trying to get my band Venator added to the list, after adding the first official release from my band, it's being rejected because I can't provide a link to a store where it is being sold.
It is being sold at the merchbooth and official merchbooths at festivals and shows. The reason we don't sell it online is because we don't have an official website and for bands our caliber, online sales isn't effective and not worth putting effort in at this time. We have tried to sell T-shirts, Patches and CD's online before... doesn't work as long as you don't have a promoter/label behind you.

The album is out there, it's for sale, it's long enough to meet the standards, it's metal and all our members have been on the metal-archives for practicly ages.

Could you reconsider our application, after reading the story about sales above?

Hey there, Ray. I believe you, but could you upload or link to a photo of a couple of physical copies? Shouldn't be too hard and it provides us with concrete evidence for posterity. :)

You can use either an image hosting site such as https://imgur.com/ or email it to me. (address below)

Hey mate,

Smallpox Aroma have their fair share of metal influences, but I'm afraid they're not what's driving their music. The patterns are heavily rooted in pure grindcore (think of noisy or jumpy crust punk, I guess). So not metal enough, I'm afraid. Bloody good band though. :D

In regards to:
Quote:
Sorry trace6x, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Outright Resistance (United Kingdom), for the following reason:

How many copies of the demo have been made? How are they being distributed? Can you link to any online mention of the band selling them/giving them away?

If you want to object to this rejection, please do so in the appropriate thread in the Suggestions and Complaints sub-forum. Do not e-mail moderators directly about this.

Sincerely,
- Azmodes, Encyclopaedia Metallum

Not exactly sure how many demos we've made, probably more than 100, we hand them out at shows or post them to anyone who requests for one, there's a tweet about our demo:
https://twitter.com/OR_Band
'Would you like a free copy of our 3 track D.E.M.O.? Drop us a message and we'll get it sent ASAP no matter where you live! #FreeMusic #Metal'
and a review:

Hope this is alright!

Make a report on the page.

The blacklist note compares it to Atreyu regarding "metalness".

I never had listened Atreyu so i can't compare... i have been listen his discography and
the first works are clearly a "evanescence" genre, but the full-length Dreamland Drowning is more heavier, but i think they are on the edge and suppose they could be "metalness".

Murder King from Turkey has been rejected and blacklisted. But it's truly metal. Here's some samples.

MasterOfSin:

I listened to it, and yeah I dunno...The first track you listed seems acceptable at times, but overall it is really borderline. The second track does sound a lot like early Atreyu, at least regarding the guitars and male vocals. Not bad for what it is, but it is awfully core-y and nu-metal sounding when it actually does get heavy.

The band I submitted, Spirit Division, was rejected on the grounds of no physical release. But they have one, here's the proof.

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Cur ... 3540384082

This band has been rejected by the moderators for the following reason:

"A post on a forum saying "THIS BE BLACK METAL, YO" isn't enough to prove it's metalness. Also, give us a link of the actual music. We rule bands on a case by case basis. We don't compare and guess a band's sound."

Should I go through my bands and find the ones that I submitted like this so you can delete them?..

EDIT: Here is a list of the ones I can remember if you wanna nuke em, samples might be online by now for some:
Spoiler: show

PDS is a new mod and probably not aware that you're a former mod and trustworthy. No need to be too snarky on him. ^^

Yeah, sorry mate. I know you are a former an all, but the submission notes did feel like the those basic ones that you see later disputed and shot down on this thread. Call it being cut from a different cloth or just being raised to question everything from anyone but I'm too overly careful. I mean, hell, the band could be an ambient strummfest labeled as black metal, typical of a label or no. Sure the band is most likely metal. 95% chance. But there is still the 5%

Call it overcarefullness or incompetance or being a really tight-assed sailor. W/e

All by all means, snark away. It is how I make a living, there is never too much snark. ;)

EDIT: yes I know bands can be accepted if they have notable review or something saying that it is metal. Granted I have never heard of this so called "Stench Forum" but given my general avoidance of most metal communities (online or no) out there, you can clock that one up to inexperience.

I just didn't want to look like I had missed a rule shift. I edited my post because it sounded snarky... it was worse before. I am sorry, haha. I see where you're coming from, though. I usually try to be certain before I submit stuff like that because of that.

I should have clarified that it's probably all the same people on that label and that all their other descriptions have been spot on before.

Congrats on mod, by the way :)

OMG I wasn't trynna be snarky you guys,

I just didn't want to look like I had missed a rule shift. I edited my post because it sounded snarky... it was worse before. I am sorry, haha. I see where you're coming from, though. I usually try to be certain before I submit stuff like that because of that.

I should have clarified that it's probably all the same people on that label and that all their other descriptions have been spot on before.

Congrats on mod, by the way :)

lol, Thanks.

Yeah, I'm in my new mod phase so sometimes I'll make mistakes. You can resubmit and everything. In my opinion, it was my mistake.

Good day, guys.

Blacklisted band Los Cochinos (Russia) have digital EP release, and song samples free to listening and downloading avaliable on https://soundcloud.com/los-cochinos-metal

Cheers

Soundcloud isn't really generally a good site to ref for a band download. Bandcamp is a lot better. Also, the EP is 1/2 original material an 1/2 covers, which goes to about 8 minutes of original material. Out of an 18 minute EP, that is less than half time-wise. Please wait until you have a release that is mostly original material.

I for one think Deftones should be added to the site, sure they might be considered "nu-metal" but they are too heavy to dismiss
