Lastest album from band Coal Chamber (yes, that nu-metal as hell) 2015 - Rivals sound to similar to DevilDriver. This is groove metal now:

Coal Chamber still sounds like mallcore to me. Where's the riffs? That third one you linked is jumpdafuckup as fuck.

Maybe it's because it has same vocalist Dez Fafara, but to me this album sounds like another DevilDriver album. I mean if i didn't know what a band is playing i would have thought that this DevilDriver

Yes, the same vocalist, but we largely judge "metalness" based on guitar riffs. Coal Chamber basically has one-note chugga-chugga stuff, while Devildriver was accepted based on their 2007 album which has metal riffs. (not that the later stuff doesn't, I just haven't listened to it)

Greetings Guys!!!

My Band: "Embattle The Seraphim" was rejected with the reason: not metal enough. I think this could propably the case because the first Song of our first release has more an introish vibe. Maybe you could listen to our latest Video Lightfall?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVCAiW6lgGo

Would be much appreciated

We listen to full releases not just an into. The blacklist note says it's more -core than metal

-core in the blacklist note was part of a joke. Basically, non-metal pornogrind.

Looks like it, I've just listened to the 2015 album to the end, the first half sounded quite metallic, I never expected it to turn to hardcore/whatever on the second, damn:)

What year was Tartavara from Belarus blacklisted? The reason I guess was "too ambient"? I'm asking because the 2015 album sounds like a valid atmospheric bm/ambient (~80/20%) release.

Tartavara was blacklisted in 2014. I'll whitelist it if you want to go ahead and submit. We'll discuss it further once it hits the queue.

Rejected for being some sorta weird permutation of punk. I'm inclined to agree. Not really hearing thrash riffs, just spastic and hard punk.

Aurae rejected for being "not a metal band"

Past the ambient intros, this is definitely metal. It's at very least djenty-proggy-metalcore metal.

I can think of no reason why, past the intros, this isn't metal unless it's considered too mallcore or something.

You kind of just answered your own inquiry. It's blacklisted for being djent and we don't take djent bands.

Hola!
I am Pedro from Spain. I work a Garid Records and Iberia Metalica. Need to upload the pages for old metal band who made demo in the 80s and we are releasing on CD "Condenados al Olvido"

I can not understand why the band "War" has been refused. The demo is there and there is full biography on booklet.

If you need a physical release I can say these has been restored from original master reels. And there are thousand of band without any proof of physical existence:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/In ... eams/97440

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/In ... uls/235879

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Incubus/3540295426

it is not our fault if the bands at the time just copied the demo on simple audio cassette. This was Spain, not USA :))))

Let me be frank here: How about, before trying to cite allegedly rule-breaking entries in some misguided attempt to validate your own submissions, you take the time to read our rules first?

a) None of your submissions contained any concrete evidence for a valid release. That's why they were rejected. It is your job to include the necessary proof, not the moderator's to hunt it down.
b) The release you are referring to is a V/A compilation/sampler with more than 6 participating bands, so it is not valid according to our rules. Not on its own anyway. You would have to provide some evidence for distribution of those demos (ex. old zine reviews, photos, etc.).
c) It may blow your mind, but we actually do list non-Spanish bands who dubbed their demos on audio cassette. Rumour has it that this practise was not unheard of even in the US.
d) Evidence for a release can usually be found in an entry's submission notes (that would be the field where you didn't include the required proof). These are not visible to regular users. So it'd be best not to make any assumptions based on incomplete-seeming entries alone.

Hi guys, I'm adding some Metal bands from my region that are still not in the archive. I'm quite in doubt with Out of Resort. In my opinion they sound more Groove Metal ala Pantera than Hardcore but I need your opinion. Here you can listen to their album:

If you're unsure about a band, probably best not to submit them.

Ok, thanx for the specifics. In this case, I think I'll try, because I think that the Metal parts are rather dominant on their album.

Why was Vabery blacklisted? They play atmospheric black metal and their debute album is upcoming. Will it be blacklisted forewer?

Of course not, you can try submitting when the album is available. This is a rare case where the band was temporarily blacklisted because the user doesn't understand or is ignoring the rejection messages.

And I'm pretty sure that user was you. So go ahead and read the rules for valid releases please. This way you understand before you submit more bands. Thanks!
