Hello, I'm new. I was looking for a band named Morbid Winter ( France ), but, I saw it was blacklisted.
I bought their CD, it's a black metal band. Why have they been blacklisted? This is a demo with 5 tracks, and this is written in the CD "19/30 exemplaires".
There is 30 copy of the CD, but I don't know if they made more CD's.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

This is the band I have submitted before, but I forgot why they where blacklisted.

I just took a gander at their new material and it's sounding more metal these days. https://tcoi.bandcamp.com/album/a-trill ... ts-tome-ii

what do you think?

Didn't see a response. Just dubba checking!

It was blacklisted because somebody, presumably you based on your post, kept submitting the band without a proper release. Go ahead and resubmit with this photo and links to more than a 4 minute single.

I am wondering why Great White was blacklisted. Their self titled debut is a metal record and a far cry from the bluesy hard rock sound they would later become known for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39Qv9rMe_-w.

Hard rock, though quite hard. Kind of similar to LA Guns.

Hello, I am wondering why a band called Cavernlight was blacklisted, they're clearly metal (atmospheric sludge/drone doom/post-metal) and have both a cassette and digital version of their record, here's their bandcamp

Blacklist says more atmosphere/drone than metal.

Hi guys,

The band DDENT that I submitted was rejected because the first album was too much post-rock than metal (true), and moderation said that they were waiting for the second one to see if it could be validated. SO here we are, the second album is out and is more doom:post-metal than the first one (to my ears).
Is it possible to un-blacklist it so that i can re-submit it ?

Here is the link : http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/DDENT/3540421567#
And the new album is on : https://ddentmusic.bandcamp.com/

Thanks!

Can someone answer me on this ?

Thanks !

Hey Guys,

a few years ago i wanted to add my little soloproject "Mallevs Maleficarvm" to the archive, but i screwed up big time because i dind't got the whole thing - my bad.

Today we are an active band, with members from Equilibrium, Vorna, Mor Dagor etc. - we have a labeldeal with NoiseArt Records and distributors like universal and warner. I just edited and updated the whole profile.

Our debut "Homo homini lupus" will be released on April 21th 2017 - i added shop-links from Nuclear Blast, Napalm Records and so on.

Here's our signing-trailer with NoiseArt Records

I really hope this is enough to be taken from the blacklist. Please excuse my bad english.

Greetings,

Marius Berendsen

Ok, I've removed your band from the blacklist, but you can not submit the band until April 21th, 2017, when the album has been released.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate that.

I will submit it again when the CD is finally out.

Whitelisted. Please include the proof of release in your submission, I saw a little something while skimming the Facebook page, but they were originally blacklisted for repeated submission without proof.

Upon listening to King Woman's new album, I'm wondering if you guys would consider whitelisting them. Their EP was pretty much shoegaze/post-rock, but this album has taken more of a doom metal approach. They still have some of that droney post-rock influence in their sound, but I would think the current stuff sounds heavy enough to be considered metal.

Yeah, I heard it yesterday. I'll remove them from the blacklist. I've been trying to think for a genre for them, it's not easy.

I was lazy so feel free to do the submission lol.

I would like you guys to make a reevaluation on Buffalo Grillz's new album. I think it has enough death metal elements to present on this site. Please, thanks.

Hi, sorry for bother you.
I just want to ask if may I upload again a band from my country, Colombia.

Has been blacklisted because the band is not Metal, but, well... I've heard the whole EP again and I think it also have some Metal influences.

I respect your opinion, but I would like to know if it is possible to have another chance that you can see the work again.

Thanks.

"Metal influence" doesn't automatically make a band acceptable. A band must be predominantly metal.

Regardless, how about actually telling us what the band is?

I'd like to bring this up again because it seems like the moderators' overall opinion is ambiguous. I'd strongly urge you guys to listen to the album "Desperate Dreams". Yeah, the keyboard is very "not black metal", but it's got blastbeats, screams, double bass, distorted guitars...it reminds me a lot of a cheesier version of Ghost Bath or Deafheaven.

Just seeing if you all would reconsider. Someone said that this isn't black metal, but shoegaze. I find this to be much closer to the experimental/post-black metal aforementioned bands, as well as bands like Heretoir or Lantlos, rather than shoegaze bands like Slowdive, Lush, My Bloody Valentine, etc.

https://violetcoldofficial.bandcamp.com ... ate-dreams

Nothing ambiguous at all about the earlier decisions. We would appreciate it if you didn't keep pressing the matter hoping for a sudden change of opinion. I consider my ignorance toward this genre/style/"revolution" a blessing, so this is coming from someone with a fresh set of ears toward the matter, and this is not metal at all to me.

Hope this helps.

Understood. Thanks anyway!

I don't expect this to make it through even now, but can you guys have another look at Lord Effluvia? Obvious DSBM and blackened noise on this album https://lordeffluvia.bandcamp.com/album ... e-emotions

Not sure if Blackened Ambient/Noise is allowed, but Abruptum and Gnaw Their Tongues are on here and they go way more into the noise/ambient territory a lot

Actually no, not obvious. To go track by track.
1. Strumming
2. Ambient with silly, talking vocals
3. Probably the most metal but that is only 11 minutes in a 41 minute album.

Yeah, blacklist is staying.

Hi!
Why Zodijackyl have banned Ukrainian band Обрій? He said the EP is too short, but there are many bands with shorter digital releases on MA. Also, that not the reason for ban.

It was rejected for being too short. It was blacklisted because you kept resubmitting it.

Something I always wondered. Why isn't Warrant (US) on here? I know they were a poppy glam metal band, but their third album, Dog eat Dog, is actually heavy metal and quite good too.

That's not a reason for blacklisted. That's one. Secondly, that's not too short. There are examples of shorter digital albums

It is if you keep on submitting it without the proper proof. We get tired of rejecting the same, unchanged submissions over and over ad over again.

Also, those three bands have physical releases of those albums, they just haven't been updated.

That bands don't have any physical releases.
And finally, that's not a reason. I think you need to whitelist Обрій. And for my opinion add to the site because that's not too short. Too short is 10-15-minutes digital demos, but not 4-track 17.5-minutes EP.

I think not. Those bands do have physical releases, as have been proven in their submissions. Just because it's not apparent to you doesn't mean we don't know what we're doing. Your band will stay blacklisted until it meets the guidelines of this site. Now stop.
