Why have the bands Zao and Training For Utopia been blacklisted?

Zao for being -core. No note was added for Training for Utopia, but sampling a random song I suspect the reason is the same as for Zao. Seems to be mathcore/metalcore predominantly rooted in hardcore?

...eh Parody :(

I'd say melodic heavy metal ...and so does Metalinjection.net here:

But it's your site, your rules.

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the guy who rejected it meant by that. I'll ask him to comment.

There seems to be some confusion here. It's the band Ybisctus that's a parody band.

Ah. Ok thanks.

But BRICK's still not metal? Even after the "Faceless Strangers" release? :)

I'm interested to find out why Devotion (Death Metal) from Spain has been blacklisted.

Is pure death metal, this year has released his album.

Therein - wanky prog
Devotion was simply because people wouldn't stop sending it through before the release date. I've whitelisted it. You can submit.

Unholy Vampyric Slaughter Sect.

Proof it is a raw black metal band:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwvbcf5AYVs

I don't think it is too noisy to not be considered metal, and I think this demo shows it.

Apparently the music isn't the problem. The release is. It's only 10 tapes and around 5 minutes of music. We need something more substantial than that. Is that their only release?

i tried to submit the band Healing Harm and was rejected for being "more Core than Metal". i mean they sure sound like modern melodeath ala Soilwork, but to be honest it didnt sound THAT metalcore to me. maybe the decision was made based in one song. Maybe if show you the entire album would make any difference?

The band vomitorium has been rejected because the bandcamp link is dead?!
It was working when I submit the band :(

I wasn't involved in that rejection, but at least two mods would disagree with you. What exactly was judged, I cannot say, but probably more than one song, if more than one song was what was provided.

That may be, but now it doesn't and we need something to assess the band's sound as well as proof for release.

So for Vomitorium, I've found that : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXMptSdj7QU
It's all I can give to valide ( or not ) the band. I'm so disappointed... All was on their bandcamp.

There's plenty more here: https://vomitousnoiseproductions.bandcamp.com/
Is this everything? Too short (even if musically acceptable).

No, it lacks a compilation, and another EP a little longer (about 10 minutes).

Even so, there's enough material there for the mods to give you a definite answer concerning metalness, or the lack thereof.

I was just trying to help speed things up by providing samples. You need to wait for a moderator's response.

It wasn't blacklisted. Really all you had to do was read the rejection - it was pretty clear. Two songs were on the facebook page, one was completely ambient and one sounded like a grunge riff like a Nirvana song - so it was rejected until we could get more. So that you tube link has one more song. So that's one black metal, one ambient and one grim grunge-like riff. If someone can prove the cassette is mostly metal, we can take it.

So, you've (or someone else) deleted Textures because it was "prog djent core" (wtf). The band is clearly some sort of proggy Groove/Metalcore band. What's not Metal about that, specially considering that their music is definitely NOT rooted in Hardcore music? It's so blatantly on the metal side of things that I simply don't understand how you wouldn't consider Textures "not metal enough".

Oooh, yeah it probably lacks "the metal riff", that loose definition that you guys have never been able to fully describe as a way to "draw the line". Sooo ridiculous it really hurts this site credibility on what is and what is not Metal.

I understand not having Animals As Leaders. I understand not having UFO. I undestand not having Agoraphobic Nosebleed... Hell, I even get why Between The Buried And Me is not here, but Textures? Seriously?

Yes, seriously. I'd call it prog djent, not so much -core, but not metal. We're a little loose about vague terminology like that. Already been reviewed, not being reconsidered.

huh, getting why BtBaM aren't listed, but not Textures. Gotta say, that's a tad weird.

@Vomitorium: This is exactly the kind of riffless noisecore/goregrind we don't accept. Not metal, I've blacklisted it.

Sorry aloof, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Chain (United States), for the following reason:

The band you have submitted was already submitted by another user (possibly shortly before you and thus was not yet approved), and therefore your submission has been deleted to avoid a duplicate entry. The band, the name rather, was whitelisted upon his request.

I've whitelisted bands for other users to add, too... and I guess being "already submitted by another user" was not the actual reason for the rejection, then. but anyway. it's monday and all.

Well, it's a pre-written message. I admit it's not quite accurate in this case.
