Marfik from Italy is blacklisted, because in the past someone have tried to add it, before the album came out officially (and physically).
Now it is released, for a good proof look this links, please:

http://selfmutilationservices.com/album/devotum-lucifer
http://ominous-domain.com/shop/product_ ... ts_id=5039
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marfik-Devotum- ... 0577592095

If you would remove the band from the blacklist I can re-add it to metal-archives for an enhanced survey of metal-bands.

Thank you.

Hey

I submitted the band Epistasis, but it was rejected due to lack of physical media, even though we have physical media. I guess this link didin't go through?

I just checked and you did post the Facebook link, and scrolling down a bit down the FB page you can see this photo. Seems like a mod got lazy there. ;) Always safer to put the link to the digipak/CD photo directly in the submission notes, but yeah, it's not like the mod had to dig around an obscure post in Spanish mentioning a CD release party (those can be annoying). Physical release is OK and you can resubmit so we can listen to the music. :)

You can say that, but we need proof (a picture of the CD, etc.) to verify that what you say is true.

Over half of the songs on this are not metal. It used to be here and I added it myself and had it removed (right before I became a moderator). The part where you declare it was blacklisted before it came out is false. I blacklisted it after someone resubmitted it not long ago. See here:

Hello

well i have one question. I recieved the mail to post some pictures from our EP in this thread. Well it took some time but now we recieved the sleeves. Unfortunately the CD´s are still on the way to us. It wouldnt be a problem to wait until the CDs will arrive but we have a couple of gigs in december and it would be great if we will appear in metal archives until december. So is it ok for you if i only post a picture of our CD Sleeve or do you need a picture of the CD, too? Cause the Cd´s didnt arrive yet we dont have some reviews or stuff at the moment, only a couple of gigs.

So you haven't actually released the EP yet, since you don't have any copies? Wait until you have and can start distributing them. That counts as a release date.

ah no the EP is still released. But we released them online (everybody can download it for free, we dont want to make some money). The release date was september, 23rd.

The physical copies are only for some reviews on musicblogs or for some locations we want to play. If we have some copies left we will sell them on concerts for less money cause people asked about that. But if we dont have some left we wont.

I'm afraid digital-only releases do not count as such by the site's standards. Please wait until you have that EP out physically.

Would it be alright if I resubmit my band Megrimmtroll. it was rejected a while ago. I think it was about samples was the reason it was rejected. :)

Desant appears as "not metal" in the blacklist.

About Megrimmtroll, don't ask for permission to submit it. Go ahead and do it. If it's rejected and you disagree, or it is blacklisted, then come back here and post.

Hi. The band Russian Circles is blacklisted, but there are serious metal elements on the album Empros. They are Post-Metal in the same vein as ISIS, and if ISIS is allowed, why isn't Russian Circles? The encyclopedia should be definitive and comprehensive and Russian Circles does utilize some of the same elements that define more standard metal.

I think their black listing should be reviewed. If the track "309" isn't metal, then I don't know what it is.

Russian Circles is post rock/post hardcore with some post metal elements. Isis on the other hand has clear sludge elements just like Cult of Luna. Anyway, we don't compare band with each other, we judge them for what they are. Russian Circles is a very talented band, they only lack clear metalness and riffs.

Okay, fair enough. I am certain that you are more knowledgeable than I concerning these matters. I thought perhaps they were blacklisted before their most recent release (which is pretty metal oriented) and thought that Empros might be metal enough to merit a second look. I guess they won't make the Encyclopaedia, but I'm going to have to catagorize them as Post-Metal on my iPod. I don't know what else to call them (post-hardcore sounds way too gay)

The band Bent Sea (members of Soilwork, Napalm Death, Devin Townsend, Aborted, etc.) is blacklisted, presumably because they didn't have a physical release out; a cassette came out tonight, can I add them now?

Hey guys, you recently declined the adding of Obscene Entity to the archives. Due to lack of proof of metalness.

i wasnt clear as to provide a link or whatever.

so here are some links of proof of their music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s2XytGGv7M

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s2XytGGv7M

http://www.themonolith.com/2012/11/exclusive-stream-obscene-entitys-debut-ep/

These links should provide sufficient metalness.

Okay, both of you.... meccanoid and Trulmetal, instead of posting the evidence here, you should be including it in the submission notes of your rejected drafts and resubmitting.

All you have to do to check if a band is blacklisted is enter the name of the band in the form, how lazy are you?

Not quite. Learn to read. Here was my exact message:

Quote:
Please read the rules. You need to provide evidence of metalness (e.g. sound samples) and of a physical release (e.g. CD, tape or LP -- mp3s do not count).

Did you stop reading after "sound samples)", or did you mistake the "and" for an "or"? Because you ALSO need to provide evidence of a physical release.

i can read fine mate, (albeit technologically inept) but i was abbreviating for ease of reading.

i followed the previous suggestion, and hopefully it should be resolved now.

thankyou for taking the time to follow up on my query.

Yeah, I was feeling nice and have a lot of patience so I accepted Obscene Entity.

All the info was right there, on their own home page, Facebook etc.
Why didn't you (and this goes for all of you) just add the direct links in the submission notes?
It saves us time and it's saves you time for not having to add stuff and then re-submitting.

Don't expect us mods to go on a scavenger hunt for physical proof or metalness.

The more info there is in a submission, the better. Now it's not just quantity, it has to be relevant as well.

Yes the first two albums, but the last is a black metal album and is produced too. Is it ok? Do I have to add just the black metal album?

You'll have to provide samples from the black metal release and proof that it exists and is physical.

You can either post everything here (upload the pics to an instant hoster in that case) or you can email me everything (my address can be found at the bottom of this post. For the pictures to be actual proof we need them to be real life photographs of the CD/LP/etc., of course. Not just a cover art.
