Regarding Wikipedia links (and other fansite/information pages), we've tended to go by the principle that we do not want to include links that simply duplicate the information you'd find on our site. The expectation is that any additional information found in those links ought to be added to MA. That said, if there's information that might complement what's on MA, and that information can't be added to this site, then it's worth including it as a link. Please keep in mind that when we mean "can't be added" we mean there's no appropriate place to put that information. We do not mean "I'm too lazy to add it."

Needless to say, though, data from Wikipedia articles shouldn't be taken at face value. So be careful what you add, try to verify it through official sources and don't blindly copy-paste stuff (like huge biographies).

it's early days, he may mean well, but it's better to let him know now than to have to undo more lineups later. I also did not check any of his other updates if there's "damage" or anything fishy there (if someone else would like to, that is).

Not really point whoring, and here is why. He is probably trying to make edits to the album but doesn't have enough points, so there are a ton of users who somehow find a "solution" through adding other versions and think that it is the equivalent of modifying the parent entry. So then make the changes, check the main album entry...and since it shows the parent it looks like nothing has changed. So they try again, and again, with even more entries if they make a tiny mistake and have to re-do it....see this a lot. I just removed the dupes.

This sucker is changing a lot of cover with high quality and great size for small pictures (240x240). Look at your modification history... He changed a lot of Enthroned, Dissection, Melechesh, Goatwhore (etc) covers. Everything for 240x240... Do you believe that these covers were all in lower quality? HELL NO!

This user is going around and replacing album cover pics with significantly resized (that is to say, smaller) ones. The ones he/she's replacing were perfectly fine. Check his/her modification history.

Not sure if this qualifies as point-whoring, but its very annoying nonetheless.

I've already warned him once. I'm not quite sure what his reasoning is, trying to streamline all of the images to a consistent size? What is the point... it already resizes it automatically to fit snug on the album page.

I gave him a final warning.

This is where the link to Dream Theater's official Facebook page led me when I clicked it. It might just be spam/trolling, but it could potentially be for phishing as well. I'm not sure if I should remove it, since it could be dangerous and needs to be investigated by the mods. There also appears to no record in the band's modification history that someone added it, which makes it all the more suspect.

This guy was banned by Diamhea yesterday. Well, I don't know how Diamhea knew it, but this guy did cover arts to some bands that today he is ashamed, so he deleted his entries as a graphic artist and Diamhea kicked him.

So now he has another user profile here, and he's adding "Rio de Janeiro" to dozens of artist's profiles who play in bands from Rio de Janeiro. But see, he is just assuming that all these artists are from Rio de Janeiro because they play in bands from Rio de Janeiro. You may have noticed that he wants to become a veteran quickly to delete those entries again.

Btw, with his previous profile, he became a veteran in the same point-whoring way.

And he's not just doing it with artists from Rio de Janeiro only. If a band is from Pernambuco, he puts "Pernambuco" on the profile of all members.

Moreover, Pernambuco is just a state and doesn't have much sense just put the state without the city.

Change it. Seems like something happened on Facebook. The fact that there is no record of an edit in the modification history precludes vandalism on our end.

Nope it doesn't appear to be a hack. Going back it appears that the link to their real/current facebook page was added on June 25, 2012. It got changed to the imposter site on September 27, 2013.
