Yeah well. Iommi himself has stated that the band hasn't talked what they will do after the tour, while Geezer said that they're done. Unless something more concrete comes up, status should be set to active.

So Metallicas merch link section is basically Amazon now...

http://www.metal-archives.com/history/v ... and/id/125

It's beyond my comprehension how a metal knight add this amount of Amazon links for one band when no other bands link section are like that and when this type of link is possible to add instead:
https://www.amazon.com/Metallica/e/B000APEBQY/

I don't know if that Amazon Metallica index page is one of them though...

Doesn't seem like he's been doing that for other bands or sites either.

newbie, almost exclusively lyrics 1b1: http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Quiet%20Thunder

his profile claims "My work here on Metal Archives consists of fixing lineups", so if you send him a note, please include a line on the necessity of official sources only... better to prevent than to cure and all that.

Adding a bunch of Last.fm links, and adding them as official links.

I don't think he has gotten the message. He has continued adding Last.fm links long after his warning date on December 28 and has done so as recently as February 16.

No problem. I'm glad I could help. I got scolded by a mod a while back for similarly adding pointless Last.fm links and he helped me I understand why they don't want people adding links like those. Since attaining veteran rank, I have started removing those types of links when I see them.

Saved line-up, then removed, then saved again, then removed again, and finally saved.

FRANKSTONE keeps adding album duplicates. Look here for example:
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Mo ... rto/238863 (five versions, all the same)

Edit: Seems like BEERDRINKERANDHELLRAISER is also going for the same thing.
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Bl ... o_3/630647 (five versions, all the same)

Final warning sent. Keep an eye on him, if he does it again, he's gone. People that are too stupid to eat shouldn't be making edits on a database.

Remember that most of my ~135k site points have come from fixing other people's mistakes. I rarely add new bands/other data. Let that sink in.

This may be a stupid question, but I keep seeing lyrics 1b1 mentioned as a wrongdoing. What does that 1b1 stand for?

It means lyrics are added one song at a time, so the user ends up with 7 to 10 points instead of 1.

Oh damn, I do that all the time. Well, 2 or 3 songs at a time anyway. My intent was always to minimize lost work in the event of a browser crash though, not to get points. Guess I'll stop doing that.

So this guy:
http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Total_Soul_Rape

has added several hundred links to Immortal Frost Productions for various bands. I know you're allowed to link directly to a band's page on merchandise sites, but this is more like linking to a distro that happens to have a given band's CDs in stock. Is that also considered an acceptable use of the Official Merchandise link section? My gut reaction says "no" but I wanted to make sure before going on a deletion spree.

Why should it not be accepted? I sell official Merchandise from the bands that i directly get in store through my record label from other record labels? Its official. How otherwise should people find there way to different shops on the internet?

The prompt for merch/label links demands that the link redirects to a band-related page on the site. I guess that this kind of falls into a grey area, but I don't see how it is really hurting anything. I suppose an argument can be made that it results in overloading the links section with frivolous distro lists, and/or result in a lot of invalid links if the product is no longer carried/in stock, but there are so many BS links in that section anyway, I don't see how it matters much in the big picture.

Adds lyrics 1 by 1. He has been doing it since 2011, so idk if he has been warned for this before, but he could probably use a warning even if he has gotten one already.

he's done some lineups as well, if you message him it'd be worth asking where he got them from...

This case probably needs staff-attention.
Username: blackfuneral

He removed three members from Witchcraft, without justification.
All of them are mentioned on different sources. One was actually the co-founder of the band.

He also deleted the activity period of this band (as Kraal). (Modification history)

he probably thinks he's smart, tho, deleting (I'm guessing "deactivating") his account, and then turning up again, thinking everyone's forgotten all about it... he still adds lots of line-ups, as well. wonder where he gets them from.
